I haven't had much luck with my stanhopea (S. insignis x S. tigrina). I recently took it to a slightly shadier place, a little closer to the ground so it gets more updraft moisture, and have been feeding it more often. Seems to be working, latest bulbs are getting healthier. I've had it for almost 5 years now, and I still haven't seen a flower! Thank you for the video!

You are doing the right thing: change your approach when things don't work out and see results. You may have to adjust it further or not....but you are already seeing improvements. So you are on the right track! Good luck!

You have such excellent stans 😂
I unfortunately made a mistake of dividing mine, now theyre all reset to small to medium sized (10-12 cm leaves) bulbs. How much time do you think it will take for them to start producing the foot long leaves?
Also if the roots are losing green tips at the surface of the mix, is it a good idea to water more often?
Last question, do you think coco chunks are a good medium for them? Im worried the chunks may obstruct flower spikes

Thanks Olivier, how about Acinopeas? How much more light is okay?

Hi Adam! Similar would be appropriate in my opinion.
Acinetas which is 50% of Aciopea usually takes drier growing conditions and similar light (may be more in winter)

I have to repot mine. I will have to cut the basket? My problem is that I have some very large bulbs which grew from the bottom of the basket so I am not sure how I will fit them in a new basket. I guess I will have to make some holes in the bottom of the new basket? What do you recommend? Thanks😍

Very large you say? Maybe consider dividing the plant, though it may set it back a bit
