Love the honest look at starlink!! I’ve been highly considering it, but haven’t quite jumped on it yet. It’s tricky splitting up “internet work” and “campsite work” with video production. It would be much more efficient to have the ability to combine those...and to not have to worry about a client reaching out and not being able to respond in a proper amount of time.

Thanks for the first-hand update on Starlink…I am intrigued by this technology and happy to see you so excited about your purchase. Sure will make working on the road more convenient. Enjoy!

Part of me wonders if it’s ultimately a good or bad thing that eventually we’ll be able to get service EVERYWHERE at all times. I’m currently stoked about it, but from time to time, I find it to be such a needed break when a site I’m at is a dead spot. Sometimes service can take away from the nature experience of being off grid.

It's awesome that you have a consistent source of wifi on the road! My only question is how durable is the antenna? It would be a shame to lose out on 600 bucks if it fell off the van haha!

It’s been such an awesome resource! I keep the dish stowed away in the van when I’m driving and set it up at camp. Only takes a couple minutes. Although I’ve seen others mount them up top and they seem to handle it fine. It’s designed to withstand some crazy conditions!
