@@deniseandreed Yes, it was cancelled a decade ago. I recently took the drive up through the Rockie's to Banff, Lake Louise and on to Edmonton. Spectacular!
@@deniseandreed We had a booth where I worked. You could get a small nstant refund , or fill out a mail-in form. Expensive for the Government. It was cancelled, the booth closed. I see that companies such as film producers and those holding Canadian conventions can recover some GST? Be aware that GST replaced a HIDDEN manufacturer tax, now it is visible. I hope you go to Johnston Canyon waterfalls so beautiful. Walking trails paved for quite a bit of it . Also they have an amazing candy store with chocolate and candy from around the world and amazing fudge . Great Kellar foods in Banff is a great grocery store.
So much patience for this, you guys. While the scenery is beautiful I'm sure it was trying. You are both so positive and refreshing. Enjoy the rest of your travels in this beautiful country. Hopefully you have found us both friendly and welcoming. Yes, as noted, save all your receipts. You can recover your tax!
Thank you so much! We ended up falling in love with the beauty of Canmore while we were at the mechanics. Silver linings right? Things worked out for the best and we were all safe which is what matters! Thanks for watching! Canada (and the people) has stolen our hearts!
Happy birthday, Denise! I’m sorry you got stuck at a dealership, but it was so inspiring to see you both make the most of it. I hope your time in Banff is INCREDIBLE! No more van issues! Also I’m in love with your lil kitty - ours isn’t such a fan of traveling so we promised her she wouldn’t have to do it anymore. Isn’t it wild how clean some of the water is up here? As an American living here I can honestly say I’d never seen it before either. There’s a river on Vancouver Island called Kennedy River on the way to Tofino, and it blew my mind how quickly the water flows but it’s still so clear you can see every rock on the ground. Where is the sediment?! 🤯 Smooth travels, friends.
Thank you so much. In the end it all worked out and the universe gifted me with a story to tell around campfires and a day we won’t forget. Our kitty has grown so much in our travels which has been fun to see. Once again thanks for being here!
Good Morning, and happy belated BD!! T'is my 77th BD today...enjoyed your video that was recommended to me this morning....glad you're back on the road again....Safe travels, from a BC gal who used to live in AB for a few yrs....🎂☕
Canmore is beautiful! It's where people actually live. Banff is breathtaking, but it's a tourist town with limited, very expensive housing for actual residents.
Traveling from Canada I was stuck 3 days in Portland Oregon on my way to Disneyland once. I have to say that the people made it so much easier for us with their kindness and it is something that we look back on as a positive experience. It was also a part that had recently been replaced. Enjoy your visit to our wonderful province 🇨🇦
So glad you’re staying positive! I really think you should spend some time travelling some of the small towns in Saskatchewan. It is harvest time on the Great Canadian Prairies, and there are some lovely views! Canada isn’t all mountains and forests! Happy trails! 💕🇨🇦

Thank you! Yeah it was quite the adventure! At least out of all the places we could break down it was definitely the prettiest haha! Thanks for being here 😊
Well do not despair, our car broke down an hour away from Hinton AB , we got towed back to that small town with the best mechanic ever; parts were ordered , we overnighted , car was fixed ( lots of money) , on our way to the Okanagan and when we got back to Saskatoon a week later we got a thank you card in the mail from the shop and mechanic thanking us for our business and hope all was well! 😊 You two have the best attitude! Oh and Try our chocolate bars( oh Henry, coffee Crisp) they are good!
Wow thanks so much for sharing! I’m glad it all worked out for you! Sounds like a really nice mechanic. Fineeeee pull our leg, we will add chocolate bars to our list…. 😂 thanks for the suggestions!
If you’re needing a positive vibe just remember, there’s no better place in the world to have your van break down and be forced to spend some extra time in Banff!!!
My friends, with their six young children, hit a moose with their van in that area and it wrecked the whole front end of their van (everyone was safe luckily). Stay positive and look at the bright side!😊
Your not alone, as a 6.5 yr full-time vanguy, I travel extensively in Canada. Specifically started using a place here called Canadian tire. Hopefully they would honor their repairs coast to coast. Well. That's a big lie. Way better just finding a mom and pop garage. Treated better, better priced, and unexperienced teenagers aren't working on your vehicle. All large nationwide garages usually have 1 certified mechanic. All work done by apprentice. N.f.g

You do realize that if you save all your Canadian receipts your GST paid out is 100% refundable at Canada Customs when u leave Canada
whhaaaaaaatttttt?!?! that's so good to know! Thanks for the heads up

A fucking dealer cant even fix brakes properly wtf
Never ever buy or rent Van made by Dodge -Chrysler! It is, was always will be an expensive piece of junk. The best pick is Honda, or Toyota brand.
