I bought a wood chipper and broke it on the first day! Felling trees, fire wood, & clearing bush.

- I cleared this area beside my shed because it's full of standing dead ash. The trees were a threat to the electrical line and property. My plan is to fill it in and use it as an expansion of my driveway. Good for turning the truck around, trailers, and general storage. Thanks for watching!

Eric take the blades out and fill Nick's with weld then grind them down. Job done.
Ive always enjoyed your videos for years and plead that you make more for all of us!!!
Thank You.
Having used wood chippers in the past many times.Call up your local rent shop, and rent the biggest, chipper they have.If/when it breaks down its their problem.
Harden Steel blade any metal shop can cut those for you. If you can weld use 7018 and build up metal and than use a grinder to reshape it.
Thanks for the videos, I have loved the channel for a long time brother. 👍
Some blades are reversible. The company that sharpens sawmill blades can re sharpen them again. Regards from Billy in South Africa
Ouch, I did it too, but it was a small nail,. After that I placed a strong magnet that is on the side of my chipper with a short string that I use. I like building stuff from trees & when they dry up, I throw them away, not always getting all the nails out. Once with the chipper I always let it run a bit longer to make sure everything is out of it.
Most of the time the blades are sharpened on both ends you just un bolt them and flip them
Scrap farm waz up man👍
@@jaimel4740 have you reversed the blades
You can turn the blades around they are two sided
I like your channel. You have the ingenuity to be self-sufficient. Your reach is further than most and that will bring more to you than you thought. Keep it up.
I appreciate this vid man.
PowerFist equals Stay Away!
so does DK2 power and powerking lol
great vid uber thumbs up, to bad on the chipper.
thumbs up shared im sure you can get new blades great chipper review you got a lot done
thanks for the video
i would had been so pissed that no way i would had end the day with an uploadable video
good job
man that thumbnail!!!! killedme
I could picture your truck having a lift gate similar to the one the wood chipper was delivered on!!! Better yet, a box truck like that in general!!!
Great you have firewood for heat
Good
weld a bead on the edge of the blade and grind a new chipping edge
i like your wood cutting station you built. i believe if you put a horizontal board(s) out with a stopper for the logs, you could put another board to show you a 16" reference mark. basically slide the logs till they all hit stopper, look at your reference board, and cut all at the same time, and they will all be 16". or if you really wanna get crazy, make a mount for your chain saw, get a longer bar, and put it on a swivel up / down arm. slide all logs to stopper, lower chainsaw on arm to cut them all at once, again at a perfect 16".
Not sure why he needs the uprights to be so long. He could shorten them up and it might make it easier to load.
If that was your first time--. Good going
Eric-The blades in the chipper are most likely used by other brands. Looks like about a 3in chipper. Good luck
I really hate to hear that you messed your wood chipper up. Great video very informative
I'm sure u will fix it
It looks like it might be possible to drill new bolt holes above the existing ones and put a new edge on the existing piece.
very good suggestion. Could work.
And that’s why you never feed road sweepings into a chipper.
I would get a big unit for that amount as they are built stronger. I used one that would take up to six inch diameter and it took the beating i wailed on it fine. The small ones get broke easy so its not a good idea to run a lot through it. I guess it is more a small bush chipper than wood chipper
sounds like my dk2power / powerking chipper, fell apart in 2 days, i posted a video about it.
Damn man that sucks about the chip blades.
Probably the clutch burning
Wow, is that saw dull?
Were you able to get new blades? Your machine looks identical to the Cobra Chipper, sold in the UK.
you can purchase blades for this unit
blades are reversible
New blades are $30 when or if in stock plus shipping
It's called a wood chipper, not a nail chipper ! LOL
I think u know by now but you can turn Them around
dang that sucks, maybe your camera just had a smudgy lens
Those blades didn't appear to be hardened
If a a wood chipper comes with its own hearing protection, you know you are not buying a quality product.
knuckleheads at work!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why don't any of you have chainsaw trousers on??? With a chain running around the bar at least 24m a sec I don't think a pair of jeans are going to stop anything. 😳
Hydro, water line, looks like an electric line to me. Is that Canadian English or just Ontario English?
A lot of our power is generated by hydro electric dams so hydro became a short form.
it is aluminum because copper was being stolen all the time!!!!
Aluminum conductors have completely replaced copper conductors in overhead power lines because of their lower cost and lower weight.
Never buy a wood chipper unless there is a reliable and affordable source for replacement blades.
Apparent you don’t know about chippers and larger equipment
Not that surprised it broke after seeing you ram that first big branch through it like you did and can’t believe you’d even considered a warranty claim!🤦🏼♂️ how was that the manufacturers fault?
Click bait title too, the blades are a disposable item so wear & tear is normal but trying to cut steel with them and still expecting them to look brand new afterwards is asking a bit too much don’t ya think.
