My favourite reading journal spreads are collections of books that meet certain criteria (makes it so much easier when I’m itching to reread a book but can’t remember the title) for example fake dating/marriage trope, and under the title and author I’ll use signifiers to show other things about the book that helps narrow it down

I have this in my 2024 reading journal!

I’m excited for you! My reading journal really motivates me to read because I get excited to update it lol

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who DNF’d the Atlas Six! I just put it down yesterday at exactly the 50% mark and then spent part of today torturing myself because I’ve been wanting to read it for months! I thought it was gonna be a favorite of the year🥺

Omg I hated atlas six 😂💀 and I feel like we’re the minority. I also read to the halfway mark and I just felt it was so unnecessarily convoluted with all the science and physics stuff that was so pointless I had to DNF for my own sanity. I thought it was going to be a 5 star too 😂

That was a very interesting video! I'm currently planning my media journal for 2023 and looking for new ideas for the book section. Your spreads look so cool!

Dude this year I also read acotar and city of brass and once and future witches is on my list for next year!!! Yay ❤

I need to read City of Brass! I’ve heard such mixed reviews, either people love it or think it’s boring 😓 and I think that’s been deterring me. What did you think?

@@toribetweenpages the second book, from what I remember, is better.
They do start off slow, but towards the end of each book it picks up and gets easier to read b/c you have to know what’s gonna happen. But yes, they are a bit slow the first half of each book.
With that said, I did cry at one point. 😂 (however now that it’s been about half a year since I’ve read them, I could not tell you half of what happens! )
It’s definitely NOT one that you HAVE TO READ RIGHT NOW! if that makes sense

I like the idea of tracking how I read books (audio/physical/e-book) but I end up doing a mix so often that I feel like a spread for it would be a waste. I like how you keep all your readathon prompts together!

Everything looks gorgeous, Tori! 🥰 I'm still very far behind on my journal since I'm backtracking to include all of my 2021 AND 2022 reads, but I'll catch up eventually. I already have my 2023 journal mostly set up for January and I have the goal to read every single day of 2023 if possible, even if it's only for 15 minutes a day!

The spreads all look amazing! November is definitely one of my favorite themes that you did 👀 I also just wanted to say that you really motivated me to start my own reading journal for 2023! I haven't really read for enjoyment in years (uni things, love reading burnouts 🤪) but I've been getting back into it while I'm on my break, and I'm really looking forward to keeping up with a journal for it next year!

Omg that makes me so happy! Honestly my reading journal makes me really excited to read because I know I’ll get to fill out my spreads 😂 it keeps things fun! But I totally get it I never read for fun during school because there was already so much to read and do for school

Paola, this was definitely me! I was in the International Baccalaureate program in high school and barely had time to sleep, let alone read for fun like I used to. However, in June of 2021 I started reading during my downtime at my hospital internship and read between my classes during my last two semesters of Nursing school! In the last six months of 2021, I read 17 books. My goal for 2022 was 20 and I recently hit 42 books for this year! I hope you are able to get back into reading like you want to and love every minute of it!

This has made me want to do a physical reading journal again this year! I gave up on mine by October as I ran out of steam writing 2 page reviews for each book & now I regret it 😂

    • @toribetweenpages
      @toribetweenpages  ปีที่แล้ว

I love the book review pages but I don’t do them for every book. I think I’d get burnt out doing that too!

I love this video!! I just finished making mine and now I want a terminology and notes part in it! I absolutely love your notes and terminology for reading.

I really love your flip through and I will do a reading joirnal for 2023 too. I am just a bit unsure about readathons. I'd never done one but they looks really interesting. How do they work? 🙈 I saw some for 2022.

Readathons are super fun! There’s many different kinds for different lengths of time and for different genres and everything. It’s so fun because everyone can read different books that fit different prompts but everyone feels like we’re all reading together even if we’re not reading the same books.
There may or may not be a readathon announcement on my channel very soon 👀 but you didn’t hear that from me
