  • The Phantom 4 and Phantom 4 Pro are amazing drones, but if you have ever wondered why your photos and video do not look like what others are capturing, it's probably because you are not shooting in manual mode. In this video, I walk through the basics of using manual mode on your DJI Phantom 4 or Phantom 4 Pro.

Thank you for this video. I have been flying r/c since the 80's but I do not speak camera.
I will re watch this video several times and take notes because I liked the information you provided. I am beginning to see what settings affect the camera.
    Thanks again.

Very well presented and highly informative! Since I (recently) got my P4P, I've been having a "trying" time to get a video setting I am pleased with - i.e., looks natural thruout. Your guidance was extremely helpful - particularly shooting in RAW. Goinup (P3A, P3P P4P)

Great stuff. A lot of info there. Much of it making me feel less dependent on the EV meter as I was.

Hey Rich, your video is awesome and very comprehensive. Before watching it, I would always set my Phantom 4 v 2.0's camera in the auto mode. Since watching your video (and with practice), I no longer shoot pics and videos in the auto mode. I now shoot exclusively in the manual mode and I'm learning how to shoot using the shutter and aperture priority modes as well...thanks to you!! I've discovered that I get immensely better results when I can adjust the SHUTTER SPEED, APETURE and ISO settings as opposed to letting the camera do it for me. The manual mode gives me so much more creative control in shooting pics and videos. Thank you for freeing me of my abject dependency on using the auto mode!! Keep up the good work!! I am going subscribe to your channel!!

Hello Sir, Just seen your video....very informative and thank you for sharing your knowledge with everyone. I am a drone enthusiast and like to take photos and video with both of my drones (phantom 4 pro + & Mavic pro), one thing i would like to share with you that i was doing wrong and getting confused the past few month with using both of my drones on manual settings was that, the phantom 4 pro + (with the built in screen) was always brighter that my ipad which i use with the mavic, so i was always getting a darker image on my phantom, and a brighter image on my mavic ! due to the fact that i was not paying any attention on EV values and was paying attention on what the brightness was on my screen at the time. This just confirms the statement of "fly often and practice" ! Our hobby as amateur photographers with drones is so complex and so much fun at the same time, that i just cant get enough of it and always screw up thing and can't wait for the next week end to fly again to do something wrong again ! Take care , and regards from Cyprus.

Do you have a video showing the photo burst mode? I read it has up to 14 fps burst?

my biggest problem was facing from east to west and the contrast was always not pleasing so I have to use manual settings to avoid that correct ? when the sun's out

Yes, camera angle in certain light conditions will make a difference for sure. I will address much more in the course we are producing.

Nice video but you don't say "off of". You say "off" or "from".
