In the OG, Cloud's reverse Uno was a much quicker process. To me it was like Sephiroth didn't have a chance to let go. Here he's just dumbfounded which was out of character.
If not mistaken, they've changed the dub, right? I played the OG, few years ago, and the dork was kinda fun, lol You write pretty well, dude. Congrats and thanks for the video. It was nice checking this pearl again
Great video as always! I'm currently replaying FF9 rn (one of my faves) and as a heads up, you can turn off the random encounters within the remastered version of the game (along with FF7 and FF8). There's also a few elements that I'm not a fan of such as the Trance system, Dagger's sus af trance outfit, the stupid "oh soft" bit, and Quina's character design origins. However, the game's overall story and themes still holds up and its characters, esp Vivi, are def memorable for their depth and presence. I cannot wait to play Crisis Core when I have the chance and thank you for making these awesome reviews!
Oh one more thing too: with the turn based combats, you can press the triangle button on the PS controller (or whatever the equivalent is on the other ones) to switch between characters whenever they're ready. That way you aren't stuck using a char whenever you don't feel like using them and waste their turn. But yeah, toggling on and off the random encounters have been a game changer for me with some of these older games and I wish they did it for all of them.
@Vooster no problemo. I havent played the remastered FF8 so idk how to turn it off there but for FF7, you can press down both L3 and R3 to get rid of them and for FF9, you can press pause (the three line button) and press R2.
If you like action games you should check out Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 have pretty good combat systems granted KH1 might feel a little dated since it came out in 2002
Since your prefer the more modern FF games I'd recommend you try out final fantasy type 0 which is a spin-off made by the same director as Crisis Core and FFXV. But if you do decide to play it don't try the HD version because it looks and feels awful. Try downloading the original PSP game and run it with an emulator, I think you'll have a blast
@@vooster No, my friend played the original crisis core and I just watched him play. This line stuck to me whenever I see Zack cause of the VActing LOL

The man was too stunned to think

Toggling random encounters does sound like a game changer. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh not to mention it's also a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, so you'll see how things like L'Cie are used in a different way here
Nah the va is exactly like the og I think. I like it regardless
Me?😳 Gongaga 😎
Ayy, you've played this bro?
