A Tribute to one of PNG's rising stars Late Roa Maino Gairo, who tragically passed on in early 2022.🕊️🔥
Late. Roa was a great man on and off the field, was a hard runner of the ball with determination with every run, same in defence.
Growing up in Lae, Morobe Province, he played most of his Junior Footy there with Markham Road Primary School and Bugandi Secondary School.
Late.Roa also played in the Lae League Competition in Lae with 14B Pirates representing the 14B Community.
While playing for the Annual Governors Cup Competition in NCD, he was scouted by the Gulf Isou Management in 2018.
Was the trainer of Philip Aravure Primary School who won the 2020 Inaugural Sandis Tsaka Shield (NCDCSRL Competition). And went on to feature in every Grand Final till present.
Always talking about God and motivating young youths in Gerehu.
He played for the Gulf Isou Rugby League Club for 3 seasons; 2019, 2020 & 2021. He also claimed the Inaugural Gulf Isou Player of the year award in 2021.
Was scouted by the Moni Plus NCDC Port Moresby Vipers in 2021 to play for them in the 2022 Digicel Cup season but tragically passed on after 3 weeks of training with the Port Moresby based franchise.
The cause of death is unknown till today. He was Humble, Determined and always talked about your destiny in life.
