Also it wasn't the first European tour, they toured with tad and did a big sub pop fest in London in 89.

@@weSteh the reason why the video title feels like clickbait is because it claims something she didn't even mention. Sonic Youth did have Nirvana along for that summer 91 tour. The doc "1991: The Year Punk Broke" covers that (typically it's uploaded on this site unless it happens to be struck down at the moment), and it's a really good watch. But yeah, Vice is simply off the mark with the video title.
Sonic youth brought nirvana on tour, not the other way around, Kurt looked up to sonic youth.

Sloppy title. Nirvana toured Europe in 1989 and an UK tour in 1990, 1991was the second European tour for them or third if you count the UK tour.

Nirvana's first European tour was in 89 with TAD. Europeans were familiar with their older material from Bleach. By the time 91 came around it was through Europe is how Nirvana got famous and then Americans caught on.

This title is entirely inaccurate. Nirvana’s first European tour was a co-headlining tour with Sub Pop labelmates, TAD, in fall/winter 1989.
