  • Another in an ongoing series of Kitelife Magazine tutorials for using dual line sport / stunt kites, this one detailing an efficient and reliable assembly and disassembly method.
    While putting your kite together and taking it apart may not be relevant to your flying, it DOES effect not only the longevity of the kite and its materials, but a proven process can greatly streamline and simplify your "before and after" on the field.
    You can look forward to a growing collection of similar tutorials covering equipment, flight techniques and other "pro secrets" gathered from over 20 years in the kiting community... A number of them will be available here on TH-cam, while the majority of these tutorials will be located in the Kitelife Subscribers section, be sure to subscribe today if you like what we're doing here!

    This is DEFINITELY on the to do list, along with literally over 100 other tutorials... Not sure when we'll make headway, we're working on more regular access to good filming locations - as soon as we can. :)

    Thank you. I may finally figure out how to out my older single whisker back together. Then i will have to figure out what the bridle is supposed to properly look like. Well the front spreader is missing. It looks like it's not too tight so i am wondering if i thought it was to a different kite. Hopefully i can find it. If not i need to figure out what size it should be.

    Good tutorial as usual....Just got a new Prism 4D and was surprised that the basic construction is similar to the kite in the demo.

      Bobsk871 Most dual line kites are of similar basic design, with most of the differences being in stand off arrangement, connector styles and wing tip tensioning... Glad we could help! ;)

    What's a good way to wrap the line without it twisting? It takes me a long time to get the kite in the air because I am trying to untwist the lines.

      Same principle as outlined in this video, without attaching the pairs together... Just put the loops on the winder and go, as shown here: th-cam.com/video/Cuw3vBD50hs/w-d-xo.html

    how do stop a dual line twisting whilst flying i am new to delta kites as you can guess.

    • @Kitelife
      @Kitelife  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +praful patel : you don't stop it from twisting, good kite line can twist anywhere from 6-12 times with no problems... So, spin a few one way then spin a few the other way to undo. ;)

    Hi... Regular contact with salt water and sand can break down your sail, but it's not like acid or anything... Just give your kite a good rinse, or wipe it down with a SOFT cloth and MILD hand soap if it's really dirty... MOST IMPORTANT, let your kite air-dry thoroughly before packing it away - wet storage is a big no no.
    For reassembling your bridle, I'd suggest you check out the mfg's forum (look on prismDOTcom) for help, or perhaps post in gwtwforumDOTcom for user-to-user support.

    They should sell them in the UK, I'd try a Google search for something like "Barresi Kymera UK"... If not, I do know they're available in Spain and France.

    Hey, Is it possible to convert the dual line to a single line and use it as a high flying kite? Also, is the 20Lb. line is good enough?

    • @outandabout100
      @outandabout100 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it will work on single line. However I've once tried 4 lines and it worked fine but it's too much work with 4 lines.

    • @michaelhametner9780
      @michaelhametner9780 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are dedicated single line kites. Theres no real point in trying to make a single line kite out of a dual line kite ;-)
