You're getting quite a lot of mileage off the HBO special. You Have to move your Bruce horizons further than that though. Check out "the river" from Tempe, 1980, and for the love of God, "prove it all night" from 1978. While it's true those days are long behind us, these are peak Performances that you won't find if you stay stuck in the HBO special. Anyway, I meant what I commented last night. I'm excited to see your Bruce journey continue. Keep it up!
Winter land 1978 I think is the best guitar solo Bruce has ever done! I’ve always enjoyed his guitar solos cause they are never over done like most of the guitarists do. They fit the songs well and are in your face pure energy not “watch what I can do” guitar solos where they try and unpack every trick and lick into a 20 second solo
Nice- You're probably already aware but if you remember in your review of Youngstown you felt a bit cheated when Nils' guitar solo cut off abruptly- this was the performance it led directly into
For Bruce, you have to do Rosalita Come Out Tonight (from really any concert), Ramrod (from Barcelona 2002), Mary’s Place (from Barcelona 2002), Waiting On a Sunny Day (from really any concert), Sherry Darling (from the No Nukes Concert), New York City Serenade (from Rome 2013), Born in the U.S.A. (From Madison Square Garden 2000), (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher (From the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary) Kitty's Back (From Perth 2014), and Spirit In the Night (from Rio Lisboa 2016). All amazing!
The 90s was not a kind decade to Bruce as compared to the 70s & 80s. But when he got back with the band and released this at the tail end of the decade every fan yelled, "the boss is back." This kicked off a much better decade for Bruce in the 00s with The Rising & Magic albums.
If you like his music or not. You can't argue they aren't great. They are! You mention this an easy tune right. Chords etc. Actually to create an "easy" song like this isn't easy.
Prove it All Night 78.

@@scottfrederick6053 Sadly no video...
@@cfraase True…not something David would react to. But a superb listen!
Hard to believe this was one of Bruce's outtakes! He didn't record it until adding it to the Greatest Hits album.

The next purest rocker after this song from Springsteen is probably Radio Nowhere.

Or, anything from the New Years Eve concert in Uniondale NY 1980-81.

Great song, love it. Love seeing the joy on your face as you watch this. Great review. Keep it up.
Nils Lofgren on guitar 👍
Studio version rocks too. Was recorded for BITUSA but he didn’t include it.
Great song, great energy
Eres el numero uno Bruce eres unico viva Springsteen

Do Roulette, Code of Silence, I hung my Head if you can
This song is great
I always wondered if Bruce channeled a little Crazy Horse through Nils for this song.
David are you planning on catching a show on the upcoming world tour?
I wasn't planning on it, but I'll talk with Mrs. Heretic and he's up to it maybe we'll both go.
