    This backpack looks awesome! I already have the 5.11 Rush packs in black so I'm waiting for First Tactical to add multicam black options and that will be an insta-buy for me.

      Hi Archie, I have a 5.11 Rush pack too and after I got this, I sold it. This pack is the Rush pack but with 100 upgrades. I use it for hiking, EDC for work and study, and travels with me as my personal bag on the plane with carry on roller bag. If you do get, please let me know what you think 👍

    Nice looking pack and awesome vid! How are you liking that Camp 10?

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't tell the ESEE and Becker fans out there, but it chops just as well... maybe even better! Mainly because of the kukri like blade. The sheath carried really well too, I hiked that day for a few hours climbing boulders for 4-5 miles. Chopped green wood mainly, to clear hiking trails. Edge held up well with that application.

    Does it look like the PAL webbing could get dry rotted? That laser cut material always seems as if it could tear easier than 1000D PALS. Thinking about retiring the 5.11 Rush 72 for the First Tactical 3 day & 1 plus pack.

    Hi...how is your pack now?...how are the edges of the laser cut molle webbing? is there any fluff? i am planning to get this, but i am a little bit worried about the edges of the molle not being stitched, nice review by the way..

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Aldous, I’ve been using it for years now and it’s been holding up really well. But I’ve only added small light pouches to it every now and then when I needed to. With all the compartments in it already I haven’t needed to add any

    could this also be used as airplane carry on?

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny you ask, I’m actually at the airport right now with the smaller version of this pack- the half day. I’ll be gone for a week, I’ll try to remember to measure it for you. If I forget please comment again and I’ll measure it for you. I’m pretty sure the 1 Day Pack is carry on size but let me double check. If you can find the dimensions for the 5.11 24 hr pack, it’ll be virtually the same- same designer and pretty much the same

    Hey man, thanks for making this. Does the laptop pocket hold up effectively? Could the back plate be used as a water bladder placement?

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pocket closet to the back is mainly designed as a pass through pocket for a rifle. I mainly use it for hydration bladder and I use the main compartment for my laptop.

      geht aber auch super für ein 13er mac oder ipad pro 12.9.
      um die geräte vor unbeabsichtigte schäden zu bewahren, einfach ein stück stoff in die tasche untrn reinstopfen. somit sind die geräte gut geschützt.
      noch einen schönen tag aud norddeutschland wünschend…;)

    Too bad they put holes in it (drain holes). It totally defeats the purpose of the water resistant material.

    • @tristonshanahan7069
      @tristonshanahan7069 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, not at all, the pack is water resistant and not waterproof. If you had something in the bag such as water bottle which was leaking it would go out the drain hole and not just sit in the pack getting everything else soaking wet. Also you could always just get a waterproof pack cover then you don't have to worry

    • @Ficktao
      @Ficktao 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tristonshanahan7069 The holes in the bottom make that you can never put your bag on the ground because sand, mud, snow, water, dirt and dust will get into your bag through the holes. That seems extremely inconvenient to me - I see it as a design flaw. If a spilling water bottle is a concern, than keep water bottles outside the main compartment. There are plenty of outside pockets, or ways to attach a bottle (or other liquids) outside the bag.

    Is the First Tactical Tactix Series 1 Day Plus Backpack really a 24 Hr Pack?

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s the same size as 5.11 rush 24. I personally would use it as an overnighter/24 hr bag, strap a sleeping bag or blanket in the underside of the bag. Plus it has molle webbing all over 👍.

    The owner of FIRST TACTICAL, did he was the CEO of 511 tactical?
    The music of the beginning of the video, it sounds like horror movie.
    Other than that, great review.

    • @BushcraftDave

      Very interesting guy, he bought Royal Robins a rock climbing clothing company. They produced a pair of pants that the FBI really liked and that spurred the creation of 5.11. He left them and started First Tactical with one of the designers from 5.11. I agree the music is pretty bad, I might just do away with music in future videos. Thanks for the input 👍
