Honestly Levy doesn’t give himself enough credit. Even his opponents didnt. They were thinking it was just Hikaru making the moves even though Levy was holding keeping his own and making the moves quickly when he needed to. Eric and Jorden are a really great team that work well together.
I know this specific day will bring loads more views for Hikaru and Levy... but i hope people also watch the game with Danya vs Svidler because honestly, those guys with Hess and Jan were 10x more entertaining and funny.
That first game, while kinda boring, was amazingly instructive for me. I've never played a game of chess like that. In those kind of even positions, I always do something to make my position worse (push pawns, etc.)
Something I have to learn in chess is to keep positions even until an error comes, I always do the same, push pawns, move pieces to a wrong place, and maybe the position as it is, was ok

Hikaru is easily the greatest defensive chess player of all time. He is just so solid and understands what his opponents are trying to accomplish. Beautiful chess.

You know what the thing is: normally I, as a very beginner player, would feel extremly unconfortable playng with a player like one of these, but they are actually so chill and supportive that I shouldn't feel like that

We let the skills of each individual make their own move while taking turns and hope they have the skill and chemistry to see what their partner sees. I feel like this would be interesting especially in the case of Hikaru and levy questioning each other 😂 imagine hikaru malding at levy
This is something levy and hikaru have already done. Pia Cramling has done it on her daughter's channel as well! They also have done hand/brain chess where player #1 choses the piece and player #2 has to move that piece somewhere.

C squared vs Anish/Danny disproves this. Danny had really good ideas to reach better lines in game one, but Anish wouldnt listen to him. Danny also had an impactful brilliant move in game two that he found. On the other side of game two, Christian saved Fabiano from blundering a piece early in the opening. I agree that the IMs dont necessarily make Super GMs better, but all input in valuable in these games. I think the drama, jokes, and banter are an added bonus. I think this format is brilliant!
