This video was very helpful. I am a faithful PC user, and my laptop died. Everyone that I know who use macbooks told me to start with a refurbished macbook with the m1 chip, which seems good enough for editing my my images. So I can't wait to try it!
@@donnacrantshaw8505 ya I would agree I’m a windows user , but I decided to get a Mac for my video editing and it has been so much nicer to be able to edit on the go, wasn’t really a reliable experience with windows laptops. Hope you enjoy your new laptop!
There are no significant CPU or GPU design improvements in the M2 and M3 over the M1. The only reason for a slightly higher performance is increases in clock frequency which generate more heat. The M4 is about 15% faster at a given clock frequency. This means that the M1 is still completely usable.
Agree'd thats why i opted to get the M1 Max, I didnt see a $1500+ increase in performence from the m2 or m3 max or even a apple certified refurbished m1 max which i seen was going for around 3k at the time i bought this. so to me 50% off an m1 max thats still more than capable is a steal!
honestly, its been holding up great been using it for 2 months straight making videos, editing thumbnails, scripting.... my regular 9-5. its been working like a champ. im sure you won't regret it, so long it comes in nice condition.
Yes! Ram makes all the difference, I would say if your going for a new computer or laptop go for 16gb of ram minimum. It will allow you to do more task, seem faster, take on heavier workloads without stutter.. etc. especially if your getting a MacBook and going to be using apples Siri AI I'm sure that's gonna take up a lot more ram.

My daughter is in college and been using hers for the last 2 years with no problems. She says it will last at least until graduation in two years.
yea its great. I think if she takes good care of it I can see it lasting 8 more years as long as non of the internal components die.
