This is one of my life's bragging rights. I worked for GE gear plant in Lynn MASS in the early to mid 80s. I was on the RD team machining the high speed reduction gearing to be installed in ARLEIGH BURKE class destroyers. We developed the combination of gas turbine and reduction gearing especially made for each other. I and 1 other machinist ran the largest 7 axis CNC horz boring mill in the country. We machined the actual main housing that all gears went into. It was an R25 rate and was the future for GE but President Reagan change the agreement. Instead of GE getting all 3 ship sets they gave GE 1 and Westinghouse 1 and 3rd would go to cheapest one made that year
That's an Awsooome ship,,I have the Lindbergh Blue Devil Destroyer,(3ftlong)(3" wide),dual props,,& rudders,,,,,haven't tried it out yet,,,2 cold out,,,,,😊
Dang...live in Phoenix and kinda wishing I lived closer to Lake Pleasant or...lived in a community with lakes! I'm an RC Fixed Wing guy...just Madiened the Flightline B25 last week and...she is one bone girl! But ..these ships look slick and just beautiful! Might have to consider moving to like Arrowhead or something lol.
For that price the Chopper should have been way way waaaaay better and some features/functions would be great lol. The rest looks nice! :)

Very cool and...bragging worthy! Some amazing engineering go into these ships!
That looks like a beautiful ship. But MAN did they screw up the SH-60 Seahawk helicopter. That's tragically bad.

Arliegh Burke is DDG 51. I worked on her being built as well as many CG Ticonderoga Class cruisers and many other DDGs
Thats awesome! Thanks for the info and for watching.
Two sizes of American flags.. small one is called a "steamer", flown from highest point main mast.. larger one flown from stern while not u/w.
