the first step when going into more aggressive abrasive paper with a pen is to align the tines first thing before you start shaping the tipping , also as a side note , the flex nib is soft like you mentioned but you are grinding the tipping ball which is not made of gold but Iridium, a very resilient and strong material.
It is frustrating. 6 out of 10 fountain pens I have in £400+ region needed some work to write well. On the other hand I never had any problems with Platinum Preppy pens. Strange.
ARUNABHA LAHIRI no, I sold Naginata Togi nib because it was too wide for me. But none needed work. Steel fine on Reglus has a lot of feedback but I find it pleasant. Medium fine on Sailor 1911 standard and medium on Pro gear slim both wrote well out of the box with pencil like feedback. King Pro Gear has more feedback and is wet medium but I like it. I think they ground nibs for Japanese kanji handwriting not cursive. But I know some people who were disappointed because they expected glass smooth nib from Sailor. In my experience a lot of how you experience Sailor nib depends on how are you holding your pen and do you rotate it much. To beginners I usually recommend Lamy, Waterman or Montblanc nibs as they are user friendly but dull. Aurora and Sailor are like marmite, you love it or hate it. Myself I don’t like Platinum feedback but some people love it.

where to get micromesh - in india - my Jowo medium facing baby bottom issue - if i write to my prefer angle - but indeed a very very wet write - but the issue is irritating
Hi , I got into fountain pens recently and bought myself a couple of preppy’s and a pilot prera. One of my preppy has a ink flow issue but the other two pens are fine. It’s too dry and skips frequently. Do you know how to fix the issue?. Thnx in advance
@@frankspage Well in his sailor videos, he said he had to tune the nib to remove feedback. This process means undoing all the work the sailor nibmeisters had done and polishing the nib yourself. Wouldn't that mean the sailor nib will become the same as say a jowo nib?

So true. Many of my best writers are like sub ten dollar. Or Prera.

Regarding micromesh, I thought only 12000 grit was enough?
12000 is too soft. As you can see it needed me three passes of all of them from 3k onwards
