Sometimes it's really not possible to get a free day... Life is hard. Lessons are learned the hard way. None of us knew what our parents did to keep us well fed and under a roof. Those 2 things are something without value until you end up homeless and get to see what life could have been... Respect your parents please, you are alive for a reason.
Having family issues, this made me cry. Some people are lucky to know love and support their entire lives, those who don't get that, struggle and have harder times being open and happy. I'm really glad she was there for him.
If it’s any consolation, which it is probably not, all families have problems. Some problems get fix some problems linger. Just remember that life is very short and no problem is worth dwelling on for too long. Best to move on and keep your head up and do you.
I use to go to everything my kids especially my son use to ask can you miss something you're st everything you can miss something lol. Nope you're going to see this face 😔. So happy his aunt showed up. Family first.
It really does take a village. This little boy will never forget this moment. I told my son I couldn’t take off for his birthday. When I got to work, I told my supervisor how sad he looked and I wanted to do something. She said, “Go!!” The look on his little face when I walked in his classroom with cupcakes and little ice cream cups was priceless! 🥲❤️
@@elongaabigail8636 it’s human nature to forget but not vivid moments and feelings involved and dopamine releases in the brain it’s no forgetting my mom did the same for me in 1st grade I remember every moment
Showing up matters. You always see kids scanning the room when they are in a play or concert. The moment they lock eyes on their loved one, you first see relief then elation as a huge smile is plastered on their face. So sweet. ❤
I can attest to this. When I was little I was having a Father’s Day performance at my church and asked him to be there yet ironically enough my dad didn’t show up. I almost cried on the stage but managed to get through the song. My dad and I are good up until today but it did hurt and took me a while to get over that day.
It really does matter. I still remember back from when I was in like the 3rd grade and my dad had promised me that he would come to something we were doing at school. I don’t remember exactly what it was for but we were singing and I remember standing with all the other kids looking for my dad. After I realized he wasn’t there I tried so hard not to cry while we were all singing but the tears fell anyway. I’m pushing 40 and I still have a pretty clear picture in my head of me searching the bleachers for him.
Representation is so important for these occasions. As the single friend I was present at plays, soccer games, graduations, etc., when the parents couldn't make it for whatever reason. I remember the smiles of relief when I was recognized by children in the audience. I was the "aunt" in those instances.
Today my nephew had a performance at school and the fact that he was looking around if anyone one came, he saw me and I was crying inside bc he waved at me and had a big smile on his face. He’s only 4 years old and no matter if he gets older I’ll always be there for him.
Love that his aunt stepped in when his mom couldn’t make it. This is what family is for and his smile once he realized his aunt was there was priceless! Also his aunt is freaking gorgeous!!

Could've been one of the most impactful times of his childhood to learn he can lean and depend on his family to be there. Beautiful stuff here. Wonderful 💓

He was playing the game by fumbling the ball over and over until he heard my voice holling out "Me Man and he a look out in the stand smiling like it was time to kick some butts. That boy ran like he was my hero the "Hulk" and made a "touch down and every one stood up.😇
I feel sympathetic for for the child, but try cutting the parents some slack. Perhaps they were working in particular job where it was. Would have been difficult to take time off on a weekday. What if the mother was a doctor or nurse in the hospital? Or what if she had a horrible migraine? It's not saying that it's not important Her parents to show up and spend time with her toenailable to finding time for themselves and other loved ones in their lives. But this is a video that only shows a glimpse of what happened. Plus it's great that Aunt was able to attend the event. Perhaps one or both parents asked the end if they could attend in their steed

When I was a kid, I went to a new vacation Bible school. I did not know anyone or make any friends. Last day was an event where parents would be present. I was sitting with a group of kids, but they wanted me to move to the row behind to seat one of their friends. There I was all alone when I suddenly felt a shadow over me. Turns out my mom noticed what had happened from a distance and asked my dad to sit next to me so I wouldn't feel left out. I thank GOD for giving me these angels in my life.

My other nephew I give him money as soon as he sees me he asks me are we going shop aunty😊 their parents are controlling😂 My aunt didn't like me at all.😂
I think they should start putting together groups or teams of volunteers to be there for kids when their parents can’t. Not every parent can make it to a school event and then that child is left with an emotional scar. What a beautiful look on his face!❤
If the family members aren't volunteering, it's still going to be about same effect because those volunteers are not the family they seek to take pride in sharing that moment with
Well...that's not exactly how a support network or emotions work at all, lol. I'm not gonna see volunteer family member Jaden cheering in the bleachers when I win a game and get the same feeling as my cousin cheering for me. You might as well get the janitor to be there for the kid because it's the same thing.
I do it for my students whose families can't...I remember a couple years ago a preschoolers parent nor any family member showed up, one of his sisters was crying about it so I took her to watch him graduate and took photos of him and her on his day along with other teachers and admin who followed my lead...I love all my babies and show up for them all

Showing up matters. You always see kids scanning the room when they are in a play or concert. The moment they lock eyes on their loved one, you first see relief then elation as a huge smile is plastered on their face. So sweet. ❤
So true!!!
The craziest part is even when I was playing varsity football, knowing my parents came to watch made me lose all of my anxiety on the field
Yes but also so does working to put food on the table. Mom obviously called her sister because she couldn’t be there.

Representation is so important for these occasions. As the single friend I was present at plays, soccer games, graduations, etc., when the parents couldn't make it for whatever reason.
I do it for my students whose families can't...I remember a couple years ago a preschoolers parent nor any family member showed up, one of his sisters was crying about it so I took her to watch him graduate and took photos of him and her on his day along with other teachers and admin who followed my lead...I love all my babies and show up for them all

the event came and i was one of the first children to arrive there, one by one i saw the other kids meeting their parents while i waited for mine, each time an adult passed by i hopefully looked up thinking it may be my parents. in the end none of them showed up and i was sitting by myself, receiving looks of pity by all the other parents and i hated it, cuz it made me seem like i was neglected by my parents or that i was an orphan. i remember i started crying by myself while watching the others kids smiling and playing with their parents.
that was until i saw my best friend sitting right across me on the other side of the room and she was also with her parents, our eyes met for a second and i saw her talking with her parents until she waved at me and called me over to sit with them, both of her parents smiling at me. they treated me like i was their kid for the entire event and made all the activities with me. that day until today i'm so grateful for her for having done that and i'll never forget. though that was also the day i finally realized that i was never going to be my parents first priority :')
