    Wow, this pains me to see. Prime reason why I never buy used sets, because I figure the odds of something going wrong are far too high.
    I work in a shipping dept. at a company (not LEGO or toy related) and I take pride in my packing. Always using the best fitting THICK, strong boxes for products, plenty of filler material to make sure items can't jiggle and bounce around, and of course tape and more tape. And as someone who packs things for a living I can tell you it really doesn't take much longer to do it right than it would to do it wrong. This all just comes down to laziness.
    Ship things as you'd want to receive them, people.

    • @JANGBRiCKS
      @JANGBRiCKS  9 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      ***** Agreed. I've packed hundreds of boxes and a lifetime ago made a living buying & selling collectibles. Sometimes folks think it takes $10 worth of overpriced new bubble-wrap to make things safe, or an incredibly stiff & heavy box. In reality, it all comes down to _what_ is being packed. Also, you can't cross your fingers & hope the package will be handled with white gloves from door to door. Accept that it will be thrown & dropped repeatedly. It's the norm. Accept it. Prepare accordingly. Bag small items & remove the air so they don't sand-blast each other. Establish a crumple zone. Make things tight. Seal the edges. If after packing something you feel like you have to handle the box with care, you've done it wrong. I've packed & shipped everything from an empty (explicitly sold as such!) vintage cardboard box to 45 pounds of LEGO parts sorted into 50+ lots, and every time I've felt comfortable throwing & kicking the packages around, and they've arrived without damage to the merchandise, and I use primarily reused and/or very cheap materials!

    I know your pain. I've been buying parts for Cavegod's AT-AT, little by little since January. Met some real pros, and some real noobs. To be fair, a lot of people who sell on Bricklink & Brickowl are totally pro. Here's some things they do, that amateurs always miss :
    1. Separate bagging for individual pieces. No mixed bags. ID #s. etc,
    2. Said pieces are not stuck together in a way that I'm gonna have to whip out the orange tool, & start swearing.
    3. Order manifest. Yes. A nice printout, confirming what I ordered, that I can measure up against what was sent.
    4. A business card. If I've had a pleasant experience with you, I just may want to do it again. So many fail at this.
    5. My ultimate pet peeve : LEARN THE COLORS. Old light grey is not Light Bluish Grey. See?
    No, for my current project, I can forgive #5. I think it looks better looking a bit rag-tag. I didn't want this thing looking like it rolled off the Kuat Shipyard assembly line. A mixture in color can be a good thing, but don't advertise it like that. People will know, and some are far pickier than I am. :]

    This videos timing is actually quite fitting. I recently purchased 8940 Karzahni from a seller (well-experienced, well-rated) in the UK. The set came in a fairly quick manner, and was in fact well packaged inside the box despite the box itself being of really poor quality. Inside, all the pieces were in fact there... Except one had broken. Obviously, like you, I had a replacement. But the issue was still as it is, and the piece lay lying on my desk... Broken.
    I'd certainly recommend spreading this about as much as possible, at least on Reddit. I would if I could but I lack an account there. I know you have a few fans on the TTV message boards, and Eurobricks, so I'm sure this will have some traction there. Thanks for the message.

    It's a shame brick link doesn't make buyers use their own photographs. I hate buying used parts and simply hoping for the best. They should at least have a "quality" section to the part info.

    • @JANGBRiCKS
      @JANGBRiCKS  9 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      SavatoEX Good points. I can understand why Bricklink offers standardized photos, though, and I think when sellers either add tailored descriptions for full sets or follow a basic set of guidelines for part condition & completeness (either expressed or implied), the system works. A standardized field or set of checkmarks & selectors to describe condition could be a very useful tool for sellers & buyers alike. Just because something is in somewhat condition doesn't mean I won't buy it, I just want to have a general idea of _what_ I'm buying before I hit the checkout button.

    • @Toad1K
      @Toad1K 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      SavatoEX yeah. A couple of weeks ago I used Bricklink for the first time (really great website) but as I was looking for Star Wars clone troopers, I noticed all the images were the same... How am I meant to know what the clone trooper actually looks like? (Quality, If it's yellowed or not etc.) At lease add real images like there is on eBay!

    • @Dragonaum
      @Dragonaum 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Toad 1000 you could tell by the description, if its new or used. Also the seller might say "never put together" or "kept in a smoke and pet free house."

    • @Giraffiti
      @Giraffiti 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just ask the seller for pictures... Every seller can send a picture upon request, just hit the contact button on the top left, ask for pictures of a set, and then, there you go, wait for a response and get that picture.

    • @Giraffiti
      @Giraffiti 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Toad 1000, on eBay, you can easily just get a stock image of something and set that as your picture. %75 of the pictures of emerald nights on eBay for me had stock photos.

    In the UK we're having a real issue on eBay where sellers are listing Lego sets as brand new but without minifigures (which they sell separately for horrendous prices). But a product that has been opened and had parts removed just cannot be regarded as brand new. A lot of people are buying for their kids / grandkids and getting ripped off. I've tried reporting it to eBay but they just won't listen.

    This is *_precisely_* why I haven't yet bought _any_ LEGO sets or parts (or anything else, for that matter!) from e-Bay or Bricklink - not even from experienced sellers with excellent feedback. I only buy used LEGO sets and parts (or anything else that is second hand in nature) from garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores, where I can actually inspect the goods that are in question there in person *_before_* I hand over _any_ money to the seller.

    What you have here is an excellent example of the difference between sellers and collectors. Even if the seller claims to be a lego enthusiast, they are still a seller, profits come first and there going to continue to sell as long as people buy. The small amount of people who care about authenticity enough to know the windows were the wrong color will always be dealing with issues like this.

    I have been in that situation and i feel lady sellers who have kids that are selling their sons lego sets are the worst. I bought set 5867 and told her if i can pay 3 days after i won the auction, she agreed and said it would give her time to make sure all pieces were accounted for. I received the set and of course pieces were missing and were of wrong color and some were not of actual lego. I message her multiple times and sent her pics of what pieces i needed and she kept telling me she could not see the pics and how she was a busy mom who cant be on the computer all the time and that she said all pieces were there before she shipped and stopped replying back to me. I should have gave her a bad rating but i waited too long and the listing was removed. Another time i bought some pieces from ebay and the seller had to refund my money back because she could not fine the pieces after the sale date, gave me a story how her husband was having a affair and the lego auctions were his and also told me her sons and their friends were playing with the lego and lost the pieces. I told her she should not be trying to sell the lego herself if she cant keep track of the parts and control her kids on not to play/lose the pieces.

    Old Legos have so much more charm. I admired the simplicity and unique details that old torso prints had compared to new ones. Also, there are some things I'm surprised that old Legos did that new ones don't seem to do, like print on motorcycle helmets and hats. Lego will print on the front and sides of legs, dual mold arms, print on arms, etc., but they will not print on hats or helmets anymore? My favorite was a city townsfolk minifigure set that came with a police officer that had "Police" printed on the helmet with a dark-green visor, it looked so good. I also have an artic base that had someone with a print on a baseball cap (I think he was a doctor). I also wished Lego wouldn't use stickers as much as they do. After a couple years of play, they noticeably lose their luster, whereas ink still looks pretty good, even if it gets slightly scratched.

    A couple years ago my father and I bought an old Western set (The Sheriff's Office one.) The seller claimed that the set was 100% complete. When the set arrived in the mail, I was extremely excited to open it and build it. As I began building, I realized something was wrong. 20 parts were missing, and one part wasn't even Lego! Incorrect accessories for the minifigures were included as well. I was really upset so my dad talked with the seller. The seller apologized and said that we could send the set back for a full refund. I refused to do that. I wanted to keep the set. My dad asked the seller to send the correct parts. He never replied.

    I don't mind if a piece is the wrong color or a common easily replaceable piece is missing, but they should not say it is 100% complete. The courteous thing to do is to tell me that they replaced the following pieces (such as a bionicle mask or disc) and I will make the call as to whether I don't mind going to Bricklink or whatnot. I don't mind buying incomplete sets. In fact, I'll just head over to Bricklink or eBay immediately so that the replacement piece and used set can arrive within a few days.
    Thankfully I've never received a poorly packaged box, but I'm glad you brought it up so that potential sellers will do a better job in the future.

    A few years ago on christmas morning i recieved the Battle of Endor set, the one with the bunker, AT ST and some speeders. My parents bought it off eBay, as it was a retired product for a while. It was such an amazing thing to take off the gift wrap and see the box of the set i so twanted but never got. Excited, I opened the box and got one of the biggest disappointments in my life. Not a single piece was correct, the instrucions were missing, the minifigure pieces were absolutely wrong and weren't enough of each to make 5 full minifigures, as there weren't enough heads or legs, everything packed in ziplock bags. I was enraged and when we seeked to get it replaced the seller confessed he didn't actually own the set, it was his friend's box with some of his own spare pieces. He gave us our money back, not the set, and I never got the set. One of my worst christmas ever.

    We sell on Bricklink and understand your frustration. Since we only sell new parts, I will only respond to your second concern.
    Any Shipment will be packed into new Zip Bags, not more then 5 Lots per bag and then all get placed into new large zip Bags. The shipment gets placed into Bubble mailers or new Boxes. Shrink wrapping will increase the the box strength and is very reasonable now.
    Like you said if you received something that it isn't up to your expectation contact the Seller, give them the chance to fix the mistakes (they can happen).
    Sellers take this seriously, if you think the prices are to low for your time and effort = then stop. Think about when you are buying things, you want to get what was promised to you.

      What i find bad, possibly the worst, about some sellers is when they go the extra mile to state in the item description that "they aren't responsible for missing parts" so when they (inevitably) do have missing pieces it's intimidating to say something to the seller because you think you won't get results!
      I've had bad luck recently with my purchases, i bought 2 vintage TIE fighter sets, one the coveted TIE Fighter Collection set, and both stated they were 100% complete and both were plagued with nearly every problem listed in this video (the TIE Fighter Collection didn't have any packaging problems though)! They both seem like friendly people but i just wish sellers in general would stop saying things were 100% complete and denying responsibility for missing pieces, it's complete bullcrap!

    Wow thanks a bunch for the info Jang! Not only do these types of things happen in the LEGO community, but also in other communities such as model trains. For instance I ordered a model locomotive, and the description said it only needed slight lubrication if any. Of course when I received it it it ran very rough and even after a good amount of lubricant was applied to the train. The seller was luckily a very experienced seller. They gave a full refund without any hesitation. When they got it back they lubricated the main driving shaft and they said it worked fine. They even offered for me to repay them and they would send it back, but it was too late when I got the message. I was very lucky. Thanks Jang for letting lots of people in the LEGO community about these things!

    I am a Lego parts retailer (spareblocks.com) and we have seen a steady increase over the last 15 years of people who have bought sets on eBay with the wrong parts and we often receive Lego that we buy which are badly packaged - we have had several packages delivered which have left a trail of Lego parts across the car park because of holes in the box. When we sell sets, they are fully built and checked but I think many private sellers will just go off inventories but they can sometimes be incorrect and anyone can make mistakes - always build is my advice and then you know its complete and correct. We supply all types of Lego but specialise in authentic vintage parts so if you are ever struggling to find an authentic part for a set please drop by our website.

All the others orders have been as advertised. Bricklink and the vast majority of the sellers I've done business with have been quite professional. :-)

    I've sold several Lego sets on eBay, I call them Used - Sealed because it's true, when I buy sets I build them, don't put the stickers on (keep the stickers, box, instructions, and even ALL the plastic bags) then when I decide to sell it I take the time to go through the instruction manual and take the set apart PIECE by PIECE placing each piece in the respective bag. I then use my heat sealer to seal each bag, It takes me a long time but I want to ensure quality to my costumers because If I bought and paid for a USED - SEALED Lego set I would want ALL the pieces there! Guys, if you sell Lego sets and claim they are sealed please make sure you actually give them EVERYTHING like it's brand new! Oh and I've had only positive feedback from my costumers because I take the time to give them quality that they pay for.

    I’ve encountered the packaging issue. The box was shipped without another box - it was shipped with ONLY the Lego set box and a label slapped on it. . The Lego box was in such bad condition and wasn’t taped that the mail carrier actually came to my door with the dilapidated box and a bag of Lego parts and said “I found loose pieces on the post office floor that came from this set so I gathered them up and put them in this baggie. I hope you got all the pieces!” I was floored that someone would send a package this way AND floored that the mail person actually gathered and gave me the parts that fell out of the box.

    Whenever I sell my old sets I make sure that all the parts are present. If I'm unsure about it being complete, I advertise it as such. On the rare occasion that I am missing a piece in a set I sold as complete, then I ship out the piece at no cost to the buyer and as fast as possible. It's ridiculous that some people lie in their item descriptions.

    I understand this too, I've bought small sets which have arrived crushed! I like perfect boxes because I'm a set collector. I have found that showing photos to the seller and being polite usually means a refund or in one instance a part refund.
    I recently sold a job lot of technic sets for £280, they all were sent in ziplock bags labeled,sealed and spread evenly in the box. the large set box had one of my handmade trays in there and the smaller boxes flat packed. all this was packed carefully. finally the outer Lego box was wrapped in 2 bin bags (garbage) bags and finally wrapped in thick card board and severely taped. the whole thing was solid.
    the seller was over the moon to receive all these sets in shop fresh condition plus spares so that he could build the original version plus the mods that I did.
    the point being I want to be the good guy and expect the same.
    if you wish to see the trays I build see my video on my channel.
    if you would like to see the product it was the technic excavator I trade under Barry Shephard. I even showed every aspect of the packing process.
    I fully agree with you on this subject and support you!!!

    Thats the world of Ebay, sometimes its good, sometimes its awful. Ordered a complete Zane's Ice Dragon, and the actual box was used as box to ship, it was so destroyed from photo. What bothers me more, is how loose the pieces feel on older sets. Not sure if thats because the pieces were used a whole bunch, left in heat, or what, the pieces in the set just easily crumble.

    Good to see a video on this. I think most sellers want to provide a good product or at least do their best to describe the product they are selling. I buy and sell as well and find that requesting images or asking questions about a particular set for sale is a good way to avoid situations such as these. It's still no guarantee they will ship it appropriately, but it should reduce the amount of uncertainty in your order. Thanks!

    I bought from one seller on Bricklink and they put in the description of the pieces/minifigures I bought "like new"... I received them, and almost all the used "like new" pieces were dirty or had bite marks.
    I sell used Lego sets on eBay as well. I go through them and inspect/dust off each individual piece, especially the minifigure pieces. I make sure that I would be okay with condition of the pieces if I were to receive that set.

    There is a lot to say here. Firstly: the first thing I learned and knew when I started using ebay is that I am not dealing with businesses I am dealing with indevidual sellers and that when I buy something I am taking a chance that I may not get exactly what I paid for; and this is why I try to make it as easy and stright forward for myself as is possible meaning, that I try to buy only compleate, new, in-box products that are sealed and either; I cannot/can no longer get from the manufacturer or an actual store (mainly because it is an older product that is no longer being sold eg. the compleate 7 season series of the outer limits on DVD) or/and that are being sold for if not necessarily a "low" price at least a "reasonable" one. Secondly: while I in no way shape or form am trying to make any kind of excuse for you not receiving what you expected I will say that for the ones that were properly sealed and came with at least the pecies that are functionally requiered to build the product I would say that the fact that you got what you needed is pretty damn good considering that you tried to get something used "from the wild/the middle of the jungle" as it were; and that finally yes not only should you but that you also have a responsility to everyone else to give public feedback as well as talking with the seller to have whatever major problems (eg. unsealed boxes etc.) resolved; all I can say is (especially if you get used/pre-owned products) don't and try not to be surprised, and don't "hold your breath" as it were...;)

    I received Lego 948 yesterday. It was described as complete and very nice. I opened the box and fond memories of my very first Lego set came rushing out. The shipping packaging was perfect. The kit box was great. The instructions were great. The pieces were bagged, clean, and all looked excellent. I started building and can't find a blue 2x4 plate. If you know this set, you know that it can't be built without the 11 blue 2x4 plate pieces. I could feel my blood pressure rising. I calmed down, did an inventory, and sent a message to the seller. All 11 missing pieces were those 2x4s. I praised him for exceeding my expectations in all categories except parts count. I never would have purchased the set if I had known that the pieces were missing. Now, I gotta wait to get a reply. I will probably end up with non era correct pieces. I will give him a couple weeks to fix this.

    I stopped collecting legos in 2012 and started collecting again in summer 2017. EVERY SET I HAVE BOUGHT USED THAT WAS CLAIMED TO BE 100% COMPLETE WAS NOT. I’ve bought around 20 used sets and I’ve dealt with missing pieces, wrong head pieces, missing stickers, mega blocks being substituted for replacement pieces, you name it. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve started buying my used sets brand new to ensure they’re complete. It’s sad that it has become the norm for sellers to blatantly lie to customers, i recently saw a 2002 spiderman set with the spiderman minifig being substituted with the 2012 spiderman minifig and the seller claimed it was 100% complete. I’ve had infinitely more luck buying from normal people selling their old legos for cash then from registered sellers who sell legos for a living, they just don’t care

    I actually bought the republic gunship from 2002, set 7163 and it was said to be complete but it was missing over half the pieces when I received it. So that was disappointing.

    Although I have not bought used sets, I have bought pieces from Bricklink. There were a few sellers who were great and even went above and beyond, but there were some that had the exact horrible conditions you talked about. Used bags, beat up and poorly sealed shipping boxes, extremely discolored bricks, etc. One seller from Russia mismarketed his sale. He expected me to pay the full price even though about 15 pieces of 300 in the order were unavailable. I reluctantly paid the order due to his forceful attitude. When I received it, the bricks were in the worst possible condition (extreme yellowing and browning, stickers half stuck and dirtied on pieces, chewed and broken bricks- maybe only 10 bricks were in okay condition). I tried to send in a complaint and wrote a negative review for the seller and he threatened to contact the admins of Bricklink to have me suspended from the site if I didn't remove my complaint and review. There is a good reason that seller has no negative reviews as he threatens (and has apparently been successful at it) anyone who questions his poor quality service. Bricklink has been both positive and nightmarishly frustrating to use.

    Great video Jang. Yes, sellers should pack and ship exactly as they would like to receive it. One of the problems I've seen is sellers with zero buying feedback having no idea how to package orders. I feel your pain with the mixture of old and newer brick being used to complete sets, vintage sets are tough to match colors when there are elements missing. Really great to hear you advise people to contact their sellers and work it out with them, always best to try the direct method first and everyone should get what they paid for.

    If you can build quickly one of the best way to check for completeness is to actually assemble the set and make sure every piece is there as sorting in other ways is not always accurate. Also it would be nice if more people started to bag the minifigures separately so they are not just in a big bag of parts where they can get scratched in shipping.

I always ALWAYS make it a point to pack everything neatly and in a manner that I would want to receive it. I ensure that everything is in excellent condition. If there is ANY defect in the item, I make sure the buyer is aware of it. Why? It's just good business. Treat people how you want to be treated. Don't be out there just to make a buck. We're exchanging items that belong to a mutual hobby, so putting forth effort should be a given. If nothing else, just do a good job so you don't take the risk of getting negative reviews.

  • @iconid4466
    @iconid4466 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I've been buying used pieces through BL from all over Europe, and almost half of the times I find sellers don't take their business seriously.
    When they sell bricks they don't actually own it's no use refunding the cost of the missing brick: I chose that shop precisely because it had the exact brick in the exact amount, and I usually had to add parts just to meet the minimum order required and /or to make the shipping cost-effective. If I had to make another purchase elsewhere to get that missing brick I would have to do all of this once again, and it will cost to me way more than the simple price of that brick.
    I am legally bound to proceed with the deal once I placed an order, but it doesn't work the same way for the sellers, apparently. If they happen to not have some of the parts they sold, they might as well go and buy them, instead of making ME paying for THEIR fault.
    On top of that, even if I did everything correctly and promptly payed the money they asked, 95% of them still wait for my positive feedback BEFORE giving theirs. I've already done all I was requested, so why don't you give me your positive feedback?!? Forcing me to give thumbs up even in case something went wrong, perhaps.

    I've also noticed a number of really, really nasty first time buyers as a seller. Once that complaint about the actual exact shipping cost, refuse to pay, then harass you when they get an NPB strike off it.
    I've had a few issues, but almost all have been resolved by sellers, only two sellers so far have caused an issue so bad I had to file and go through with a paypal dispute. In a couple of others a paypal dispute got a voluntary partial refund for the mistake. I've only ever had to give out a handful of negative feedbacks, and just about all of the ones I have gotten are vengeful ones from nasty sellers, and a few buyers sour over long distance shipping costs.

I think nowadays more and more traders enter the game who don't give a *beep* if a set is complete or not. I don't expect this kind of quality from Ebay, since traders have always been there, but it's too bad this seems to happen now also with Bricklink.
    Buyers: if a set is not complete or has bad quality bricks and the seller doesn't want to fix the problem, give a very low rating, it's the only way to get rid of the non-caring traders!

If sellers were to better describe products and state missing parts or discolouration then it would allow the buyer to make a more informed decision. This wouldn't necessarily discourage people from buying, it would just mean that there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises.

    I got the most amazingly packed monorail from Germany to Australia. I think it took me about 30 minutes to get into the packaging because it was so well fortified!

    As a seller, I have to say that I always make sure all used sets are properly dismantled, pieces are sealed in sandwich size Ziploc bags, placed inside the original mint condition LEGO box it originally came in with instructions and part separators (if it comes with one). Any decals a set might have come with have been professionally applied by me, and all pieces look and feel brand new. None of my items have been played with by kids. I overbought LEGO sets over the years, and I've been thinning out the herd. I'm always happy to be the person to help someone fill their collection gap, or to help someone give the perfect gift to someone.
    With all that said, we sellers put up with a lot dumb questions from buyers. One of those questions is always about why I charge a lot for postage. First off, I do not set the postage rates, the United States Postal Service is responsible for that. I do not pocket any postage fees. I print off and pay them directly from eBay and PayPal after payment is received. The shipping boxes required to fit awkward LEGO containers is included with the final postage rate the buyer sees on the listing. I can't and won't do free shipping on an item I sell for 10 dollars, because it might cost 7 dollars to buy a shipping box to fit it into. Sorry, but that's the way it is. If I offer free shipping, then I would have to raise the price as high as the competition.
    Pricing is sometimes an issue. People do not apparently research anything on eBay. I always look for the same stuff I sell, review the listings, and then hit the tab to sell one like the one I have. When I do that, I always knock the price down quite a bit. I price my things to sell, not sit online for months. It gives me piece of mind to just be rid of it, but I'm not going to give it away like some folks expect. I can honestly say that I sell my stuff for nothing compared to other sellers.
    There has been one issue with a seller, and it cost me my perfect rating as both a buyer and a seller. This one buyer bought an item from me, and was quick to e-mail me harassing me to make sure I would back the item securely with no labels, sharp corners on the packing box, and was just anal retentive about other stuff, as well. A few hours after that, he e-mailed me again about packing the item properly as though I was an idiot who had never sold and packed items before.
    A day later, he e-mailed me asking why I hadn't mailed the item, and he seemed to be mad. I replied that the item had a 3-day maximum handling time. eBay had that attached to my listing. I usually ship well within three days, but this guy didn't want to hear it. He e-mailed me on Tuesday bothering me again asking if I had mailed it. Word of note: I am a teacher and my schedule sometimes doesn't allow me to just go mail off things. That's why I do the 3-business day handling time just to cover myself.
    The next day, there was an accident with the item. I put it in the trunk of the car as I do with all my items when I transport them to go get a mailing box and go to the post office. Well, it tuned out that the trunk lid's hinge gouged the box. I quickly refunded the money to the buyer. I figured that if he was that adamant about the box being perfect before, then he damn sure wasn't going to want a destroyed box! He didn't appreciate my gesture, and automatically left a negative feedback. That was the first and only one I've ever gotten.
    In light of this video, I understand why someone might make sure that the item is in certain shape, but then again, the buyer should be asking before they buy the item. I always figured that the questions I get asked are based on a bad experience. Any seller issues on eBay are the results of bad experiences on our end, too. I have had to file numerous non-payment cases in the past four months. It's been a real issue. Here's hoping I can soon be rid of a lot more sets without any buyer issues and crazy questions.

    And it's a shame the people who do this will most likely never see this video. You do a great job on this channel! I look forward to your videos showing up in my searches!

    Although a bit of a different experience, I recently bought the new AT-AP set only to find that every single minifig was gone. Someone had literally bought the set, removed the figures, resealed the bags and the box itself, and then returned it at customer service, only to again be put on the shelves. Also they tore out any pages in the instruction booklet that gave any evidence of figures being included. Thankfully I was able to get a replacement set from the store, but seriously WHY?! I realized later that even though the box was reglued, the two small strips of tape at one end had been very cleanly removed. So now I always check to make sure those are there. Gotta say though, that whoever did this was very very clever and skilled. The box on the outside looked beautiful and untouched from even a decent distance.

    What's worse than sellers selling wrong color parts, is when Small parts are damaged in the post! I got a well protected bag full of old parts in the mail, and the postman crushed a bunch of the smaller parts, stress marks on all the thinner ones possibly from shoving a heavy box on top of it. It's a shame, since some of the ruined parts were old Bionicle mask re colors not available unless you bought those mask packs.

    You should've named the seller so people wouldn't buy from them.

    Thank you for doing this video. I have come across this problem myself unfortunately. I know you probably wouldn't want to do this but it would good if you started naming the sellers where you purchase LEGO from who you had a positive transaction with. That way you can also help us to also get a positive transaction from that seller. I think it would be really awesome if you could use your TH-cam muscle to help the LEGO community in this way. Once again thanks for doing this video.👍🤓

    Sellers who sell incomplete lego sets and say that they’re 100% complete are SCAMMERS. If the set has a few missing or substituted parts, they should make that clear to the buyer (and which pieces they are) before selling the sets to the buyer.

    I don't know how you put up with this nonsense multiple times and still gave sellers positive feedback despite the issues. In my mind, it's a cut and dry issue. If what I receive isn't what I paid for, it gets send back and I get a refund.

    it hurts to see the poor package you recieved :/
    I always contact the seller when they do a mistake, and almost all of them make it right, by either refunding or shipping another package. I wish you and everyone else good luck with future shopping! Remember to contact the seller if a mistke is made, it usually helps!
