For those who need real simple explanation of what KNF is: A method of farming using natural microorganisms to feed the plants and fertilise the soil. It’s basically using natural organic plant super foods (called IMOs and LABs) that you can cheaply make instead of buying organic fertilisers etc. at the store.
These people are the best! I had a similar idea about the food system after hearing a man talking about his book about soil erosion and degredation from large scale agricultural corporations. Sadly, that's as far as I got. I never even tried to plant a garden. Well, that's about to change. These wonderful people are making it so easy and transparent to learn these incredible techniques to get the most effective start. @Natty Dreadlocks I have OHN in process, WCA,WCAP, several IMO 2, LAB, FPJ, and FFJ. I did a good amount of Jadam this year with heavy applications of JMS. Need to get JS made yet. I intend to use JWA in all foliar sprays including KNF. Any reason not to? thanks for the reply though, you did mention a few concepts I need to study. 😁
@Natty Dreadlocks I've only made one 4 gallon batch but it works great. I used vegetable oil as recommended in jadam book. Very accessible and cheap. I used well water but I'm looking to setup some rain catchment for a softer water. Even with well water the soap helps the sprays coat evenly rather than bead and running off.
KNF seems really interesting, but I haven't seen any videos comparing plants with and without the KNF treatments. If you could make a video comparing KNF to other means of growing, I would love to see the comparison.
test it for yourself! KNF is not like buying a car from a new brand that no one knows about. KNF is extremely cheap! I don't do the complete system myself, some things are still a little complicated for me. But try fermented sea water! It's just LAB, FPJ and sea salt! It's a joke because it's so easy and cheap to make! Apply weekly via foliar to some plants and not to others! I guarantee this will be fun!!

Just as an FYI... East Coast, USA, VA Beach - located on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. Tons of fine sand in my soil - heavily enriched with organic matter - of course or I would be growing a smaller variety of plants. Plenty of animals live on my property, herons, geese, ducks, fox, otter, racoons, oppossum, snakes, skinks, lots of birds. This helps the soil as well. Thanks!

I tried to read it, and your body was turned towards PureKNF Drake so the fabric had folds. It looked at first like it said "I AM THE CITY," and I thought, wow, that's a powerful statement. We are all the city, and the city is all of us. I accept my role and responsibility within my city, and my world." Then you untwisted just a little bit, and then it said "I ARM THE CITY." Wow! This, I thought, meant "I'm out here working to arm/equip my community with what they'll need to survive and thrive. I believe in the power of Us, and I believe that Us can be stronger together if we all take up arms -- knowledge, expertise, tools, social networks, everything at our disposal -- and dig in." Then you untwisted the rest of the way and the shirt said "FARM THE CITY" and then I understood what it really meant... but I still love all the other things it could have meant, too. 10:50 yeah that's a trip because I'm focusing my beirkashi with concentrations of the plants I'm going to be growing thinking that it will be specifically tune the 🦠 to what the plant wanted and needed (based on what was contained in the root and 🌿) 🤷♂️
Maybe you went too large too quickly. KNF is flexible. Doing less and feeling more confident will still produce a great result without the perfection of the recipes and timetables.

KNF provides much more diverse and advanced microbes. Compost tea is a select group of microbes grown in more strict conditions, much younger in adaptation.
As a home gardener, can I make an 'all purpose' FPJ using my comfrey leaves and use that to feed the soil/plants? Or am I supposed to make different FPJs for each of the crops that I'm growing ie tomatoes, peppers, etc?
Ya comfrey or aloe are pretty good all purpose FPJ, high in N. If you want to get more technical you will spray during certain phases of the plants growth, veg vs fruiting. FPJ is collected during veg, ripe (FFruitJ), and unripe (FFJ) fruiting stages then used on plants at the same stage of growth.

I do Brix since about two years and I like it for getting a general idea of plant health respectively nutrient density. I don't think it is the holy grale as it can't tell in detail what nutrients are actually available in which amount.

In a recent podcast John mentioned that sap analysis, if not done very professionally, can create a good amount of confusion as it can vary a lot simply by the time of the day, the weather, etc. At least this is what I understood listening to it only once ... listening only once is big mistake by the way when hearing anything John Kempf says ;-)
How would one collect IMOs if they don't have undisturbed forest or shady areas in their yards? I live in the Clairemont neighborhood (urban) of San Diego on a small lot. I'm converting my backyard to garden (20'x40') and chicken foraging (20'x5') land.
I watched a video or read a PDF on Korean natural farming and in the video or PDF they were growing a plant that is the only known plant that can sustain a baby is anybody familiar with what that plant is the internet seems to not want to give it up
i live in the desert, is there microbes in the sand? lol maybe sand microbes are extremely lazy because they dont need to grow anything --- i guess no imo farming for me (>.

I have 6 acres and I am overwhelmed with KNF. I flew to S Korea for years. I wish I knew about that then.

My question with the egg shells... do you have to sterilize by boiling for ecoli or does the ferment take care of that
The egg shells are cooked to remove all organic material so it doesn't rot in the vinegar solution.

Can you probably elaborate how Drake measures the nutrient density? He argues that the nutrient density in KNF treated crops increases. THX
The brix level is higher, you can test that by squeezing the plant juice onto a refractometer and looking at a light source.
