Holy crap - WHERE do you come up with "underrated"??? They were a Super Group!! One of the most popular, influential, heavy rotation on the radio, bands - in their heydey! They're STILL popular & on the radio. Just how is that 'underrated' to you??
@142horizon While you are correct that they were not at all under-rated while they were still together 66-71 or so, it was remarkable how their music was almost forgotten from the early 70s till Fogerty’s return to prominence around 1985 with the release of “Centerfield”. I still remember when I arrived at college in ‘78 and how the other kids in my dorm were delighted when I played my LP of Chronicle (a greatest hits LP released around ‘76 or so). Comments like, “Man I used to love that band” etc. were common. I also think some Vietnam movies of which many began to be made around then (eg. Apocalypse Now) used CCR in their soundtracks which also helped to revive their great old tunes.
