I have no issue with eBike riders who 1) know how to ride at speed and 2) don't put others in danger. As a long time cyclist I've nearly been taken down on multiple occasions by eBike riders who passed too closely without notice or were out of control cornering and crossed into oncoming traffic. Riding skills are crucial just like a motorcycle.
The main reason car drivers hate ebikes is because they get left behind in city traffic.
I'm a "lycra rider" and I like e-bikes because they got a lot more people riding and they ride more often.
Now I never hated Tesla but man, the cybertruck is the Aztek of today. It's just unbearably ugly :D
🤣🤣 I kinda like the cyber truck
I kinda like the aztek
They look like something that George Jetson would be familiar with.
@@raywyatt5368 no that's the rear window of the amc pacer
We have to come together as a community and ban kids from using e-bikes, they’re having to change the laws cause kids keep fucking with traffic
Probably 16 and a driver license to operate on the road. Bike trails maybe training class and allowed on trails for younger riders. Similar to ATV rules would work.
outlaw traffic
In one state, ebikes were banned for 3 months due to a kid on an ebike knocking an elderly woman of her bicycle and killingher.
Where I stay , kids ride at about 50mph dangerously on illegal ebikes at night with no lights. Been overtaken very closely while doing 25mph down a hill on a bicycle by a kid doing 50mph,and later while turning a sharp blind bend. No point reporting them as will be long gone before police arrive, and they all wear dark clothing and hoods
Always blame the kids! Adults never speed or have the money to buy them.
@@jaynorthwoods what about the e-scooters there faster then the e-bikes and some cars.
I have 60,000 road miles riding conventional bikes in various situations. I've been harassed and even threatened with death by drivers of motorized vehicles. People just hate bicycles in general. I have a Tesla so I'm aware that many people still hate them as well.
wow your running a stop sign I think I'll try that
🤣
Don’t lol
Yeah, going straight through a right turn lane...
@@PhyllisBoone-sn8oi it’s okay Phyllis 🥴
Poor muffin, Which one are you?
I love my e-bike but I have to downvote.
People don't hate on the Cybertruck because it's new. They hate it because it's a classless vanity project by one of the richest people on the planet and it doesn't even function as a truck!
It can't haul because of range anxiety and its bed is so small its barely usable as a pickup truck. On top of that, it's massive, bigger than a Sherman tank!
Now I hate pickup trucks, but at least pickups can function as work trucks. The cybertruck is an oversized, impractical monstrosity. Aren't cars big enough already?
I was just making a point bro haha
It doesn't help that it's also f'ing ugly and looks homemade!
American buy trucks to do these things? You're sadly mistaken. Trucks were sold to avoid emission requirements that are on passenger vehicles. Most folks never put more in there truck than would fit in a trunk.
@@Wilem35 I'm aware that 90% of trucks are effectively pavement princesses.
With that said, at least pickups can function as work trucks. They have the specs to haul, even if they never do.
The Cybertruck would be a poor choice for a construction crew or city municipality.
@@124085 But it's a perfect pavement princess whatever that mw=means. (-
The haters hate e-bike riders because some riders don't ride within the road regulations.
Dunno about ebikes, but 99.9% of cyclists I see (I am a cyclist , aswell as an advanced biker and driver), ignore red lights, most dont use lights at night, wear dark clothing , don't look behind before a manouvre or signal, ride too fast for nearby hazards and balme everyone but themselves when their stupidity causes an accident.
Now do cars.
@@DemiGod.. LOL, poor muffin.
Who gets hurt when they get into an accident? I think that point is just out of jealousy... Just get one man they are a ton of fun
people hate sharing the road with plain bikes e=bikes will have more bikes
Exactly
In your video, you run stop signs and red lights. Is that a reason for others to hate ebike riders?
It is without doubt.
He is on a bike calm down Geroge 😂
Of course not, stop signs and lights are for cars. Never ever seen any on a multiuse trail before. You only hate them because your stuck behind them in your traffic.
Ride responsibility. Ride safe, follow the bike laws. Obey traffic laws. Be respectful.
3:30-- You nailed it! Whenever something becomes 'popular', people fret. There are many reasons ppl hate on 'popular' things. The main reason ppl bash popular things is because it became 'popular'. When something new, old, or awesome starts becoming popular, the authenticity of such activity lowers in value. If too many ppl like something, then it must not be as good or cool as it is or once was. As a long-time cyclist, that is how I view e-cycling. Not because of ppl getting out and enjoying cycling/riding, but because it (cycling in general) is becoming more popular, it is prone to becoming an activity ruined by lawbreakers. There are also changes we (conventional cyclists) are still trying to get used to, such as newbies whizzing past at professional speeds and zipping in our blindspots without using due care. Egotism seems pretty high on the e-bike side (esp. with the often illegal e-moto delimited crowds). But conventional cyclists are called out as "..Spandex Karens!!!" The typical insult used by two wheel hating caged motorists. The perspective(s) are something to think about whether ppl hate it or not.
You couldn't be more wrong. People don't like ebikes because they don't like e-bike riders. People don't like them for very good reasons. Just peruse youtube and watch e-bike content. They operate them extremely unsafely, weave in and out of traffic, blow through red lights and stop signs and drive far too fast for the road conditions.
It's not the e bikes that people don't like, its the idiots that ride them.
Hating eBikes is completely ridiculous. We know most of those people don't want to admit they really want one themselves but have some silly pride to uphold.
Appreciate the love for eBikes brotha (I also do delivery work like Doordash on my eBike)! 🚲🚲🚲🦄🌽🍿
Shout out you bro! Thanks for the support! Ride on
I hope that you're riding according to the Uniform Vehicle Code regarding the use of bicycles in traffic and not exceeding 15 mph on designated bicycle paths. I hope that you are yielding to pedestrians on multiple use pathways and yielding to pedestrians crossing the street. New York has a problem with these very issues, and I see them near the city where I live. To many new e-bike riders, like new or casual bicycle riders, seem to have no clue about the laws and courtesies needed for everyone's safety on multiple use paths, on city streets and on the roads. Bike riders of both persuasions can and have injured or killed other human beings when in a rush, or believing the rules don't apply to them. We all have to be responsible for the safety of others with whom we share the roads and pathways.
@@PhyllisBoone-sn8oi what’s your badge number?
(hater) Personally I try to be objective with my opinions. I have pedal biked almost 8000 miles in the last 20 years. Most of my riding is on park system trails, towpaths and related roads. So back to ebikes like / dislike. My biggest axe to grind is people riding way faster than they should be on park paths. I have had some big tire large frame ebikes fly between me and oncoming traffic on bike paths barely wide enough for three bikes abreast. At 25 mph if they hit me I will be moderately to severely injured. Next the battery-Safety wise there have been a few house fires due to ebikes and electric car battery fires while charging. There is no doubt I will own an ebike in the next year or so I guess that makes me a non hater LOL.
Ebike batteries have improved 100x over the oast 10 years. I agree on the park path thing. I try and slow my evike down to 15 or under when passing people. Not going to lie though, i enjoy riding around 25-30mph
@@BrandonSorenson-fb3gg in 2011 panasonic were at 265 watthours per kilo. today we're also at 265 watthours per kilo. by that specific metric batteries have improved exactly nothing in the last 10 years, although they did get cheaper and easily available everywhere.
Have a recumbent trike. It blew away bicycles down hills, but the issue I had, was that it was slower up hills, so put a bafung 250W motor on it. Now it is faster than normal bicycles up and down hills, and so much more fun to ride.
At max assist level, I get 60+ miles with 36V 15 Ah battery. It holds 2 batteries giving 120 miles, but can put 6 more in a trailer , giving roughly 480 miles range. Can also fit 2 more batteries in a pannier giving 600 miles range.
The motor is most efficient at 81rpm giving about 150W and 55NM torque. If it drops to 70 rpm though, the current consumption tripples (the power going upto 400W at 70 rpm or torque 100NM at 20rpm),so best to use a high enough assist level to keep the cadence near 81rpm, I just leave it at max assist getting 60 miles a battery.
The general reaction from cyclists is "Damn that thing is fast", pedestrians will come upto you and ask youhow far can it go.
just bought an ebike (juggernaut ultra duo 4) cause i hate traffic and having this allows me to get somewhat back in shape but also have fun at the same time ^.^
People fear change.
Thanks for the mention in the video. I’ve gotten at least 6 family members to get e-bikes and they are always thanking me. I’d like to add that the jealousy is real also. I was thinking about buying my brother but decided it would serve more if it stayed here as an extra ebike for anyone who visits us and we are going to take a spin. I live closer to the trail anyway. We have wonderful rides each time we go out. We love it. Btw, I really enjoy your videos 😊
Thanks for the comment! And thanks for following. Glad yall are getting so into it!!
10:06 Just look at what you are doing! This is why people don't like bikers. You're breaking the law. You're not only riding an bike on the sidewalk, fast, but you about to enter an area with far less room and hidden (from you) doors that people can walk out right in front of you and get hit by you doing 15mph. This is why they don't like us.
"hater" I'm just getting my first ebike and it is good to know these things. Thanks
If they didn't outlaw bike engines, everyone would using them. E-Bikes are vastly inferior, especially compared to a good quality engine kit that is 1/2 the price of a good e-bike kit. A good 4 stroke engine that costs around 600 Dollars will beat an ebike in every way.
I have an ebike and I can think of several legitimate reasons people hate on ebikes/ebikers. Running stop signs, running red lights, riding on the sidewalk, weaving all over the road, riding 25MPH on a 15MPH multi-use trail (that goes for the lycra-clad packs as well).
Sadly, this activity is not the single domain of folk who ride e-bikes.
Define running stop signs. Most states allow bicycles to use stop signs as yield signs. It's more dangerous for the bike to come to a complete stop.
@@124085 12 states is less than a quarter of the states. Hardly "most."
Well, i have an e-bike that i use to commute to work around 15 miles. But i still hate them a bit. The problem is not specific with ebike but with those who are on them who dont care about any rules and have close to 0 surrounding awareness.
I get that but how many people are on their phones driving. I think everyone is a bit distracted
It's not the bike, it's the cities that are not build to accommodate alternate means of transportation
How much range does that e-bike in this video gives you?
At 280 pedaling most the time I get about 25
Great video keep it up. Haters
I ride the Swamp Rabbit Trail Greenville SC. And have had an ebike since 2014. But tried to keep riding regular bikes. But have gone full ebike now.
I am trying to spread the joy.
I hate when I see other ebikers (or bikers) flaunting rules and laws. Like going 30 MPH on our 20 MPH trail.
But I can sadly say, I'd go 30 MPH at times on the trail if my bike were able, but generally I behave.
I don't dislike motorcycles, but hate seeing those swarms who break laws and take over streets.
I don't dislike cars, but hate to see drag racers or intersection take overs... And I hate the idiot psychos and their loud mufflers who cruise downtown here where I live.
But your points are valid. I do envy some nicer ebikes. And I always wish I had more money...
But as blessed as I am, and blessed to own a new and old ebike, I am Content in life.
I think people acting like assholes, no matter the conveyance, irks others.
I'd love to have an e-bike but it's way too hot outside to be riding a bike and I don't live in a city where it makes much sense to have one. E-Bikes mostly benefit people who live in metropolitan areas.
(hater) Your point about jealousy is a big one. Another is that car drivers often perceive cyclists and motorcyclists as enemy and as competition and sometimes there is arguably a reason for it if the cyclist shows selfish disregard. It seems, sadly, with the advent of e-bikes a new perceived enemy has arrived.
I can definitely see that
I think sometimes people are just scared to adopt the new technology. They might be afraid of looking stupid if it doesn’t catch on.
I am riding my ebike...a tesla "truck" (i use the term loosely) passes me.
I suddenly have the urge to fly a finger not so friendly.
I am majorly puzzled by such urge. I should feel kinship not revulsion. I do not feel any urge like that at any other e-vehicle or hybrid.
Lol, old man "get off my lawn and turn down your music" syndrome?
End muse
Your 4 reasons for the hate on e-bikes is right on! I want one and am looking at the many being offered for sale. Non e- cyclist’s I’ve run in to generally bad mouth e bikes but for the reasons you outline….so who cares! Some e riders to be fair, not all but the few AH's who try to show off ruin it for the conscientious serious hob-bier. Have fun be safe!
What kind of bag on rear rack?
Link in description!!
Probably 16 and a driver license to operate on the road. Bike trails maybe training class and allowed on trails for younger riders. Similar to ATV rules would work.
I want to deliver but so worried about the crazy AZ drivers here. Trying to learn where I can ride legally so I'm out of the way.
Definitely have to be careful
HATER😃 Nice day out on the ebike doing some quick deliveries😎🥃🇨🇦
Thanks for watching 😎😎
👍
It’s bc of the Surron wreaking havoc….
I've been a biker my whole life at 73 now. Yes bikers were hated when younger by the cops & was pulled over at least once a month for speeding usually. People either love bikes or hate them for some reason. Many resent the freedom bikes & eBikes represent IMHO. They are a lot cheaper to buy & operate so some hate that.
I don't mind Ebikes I converted my bike to a ebike
It happens with every disrupting technology, don't want to burst your bubble with Tesla, but they're going down, there's better EVs out there, like the Koreans.
There may be better I’m just making the point that they’re everywhere now
@@BigAndTallBiking I understand.😉
Wrong. Ebikes have never been expensive.
I do Ubereat I like delivery easy money
Great side money
Maybe they hate them because they’re jealous.
You answering your own question in the video why people hate new things...One main reason is they are EXPENSIVE.
Most all NEW products on the market are way OVERPRICED when they first years/decade hit the market.
Currently I ride EUC (Electric Unicycles) and I will be the first to admit/complain the cost for them and all pertaining to them are way overpriced. Does mean I hate EUCs, it is just the value does NOT justify the cost/price of them.
A brand New Gateway Desktop Computer with 15GB of Storage (in the year 2000) Cost $2000+...No touch screen, no Apps, no 4k video, no All-n-One, no Wireless, no Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth...and ONLY 15GB of Storage cost $2000+
Now a Desktop with all the above and 1TB of Storage is $600-800...The prices of New products are way overpriced
I hear you on that. This bike I’m on used to be $1300. But is only $750 on Amazon right now and I think that’s very reasonable for entry
But yes a good EUC is steeeep
I am definitely NOT a 'hater'.
😎😎
had an e-scooter for a month not sure why and how it happened but ive made on it like 62miles and the engine broke also the biggest downside is that u never know when it will run out of battery so thats why i decided to switch to gasoline bikes
gas is better for range, but even though you were unlucky, gas engines have way more problems in general than electric systems
@@porteal8986 few problems were cuz i didnt had any knowledge now did 300 or 350 miles after those problems and only sparkplug have problems need to replace it
I do not hate the e-bicycle but the riders on them for behaving like the lawless jerks most of them are.
hate to break it to you most car drivers are lawless too
Oh the irony!
Haters. I got a Jasion Hunter off Facebook marketplace for $500 in April. It only had 4 miles on it, I think the kid bought it with his tax returns last year, impulse buy. He obviously didn't like it, I dig it even though I haven't ridden a bike in over 30 yrs. So far, only a couple haters, the rest have been pretty cool. Get a lot of honks when I'm on the sidewalks. I think most people dig them and wish they had one from my experiences.
Been bicycling for 30 years. Its bikes and ebikes, but the truth is i get nothing but stares and smiles when they see my decked out nior riding responsibly. Some drivers literally floor their p.o.s. cheap base models any time anybody elese exists and we will deal with that on anything. Teslas still suck tho 😅
"hater." (Just following your directions! 🙂). Ebike rider and lover for over a year now.
Thanks so much for watching!!
Lol ever since I got one everyone around me wants it
Theyre so much fun lol
But Teslas are still on the way out…..
Haters. The police have had a 2 week crackdown here on illegal ebikes, in the UK we can only have Class 1 legally. Most of the problems are caused by idiots on those SuRon type bikes riding on the roads and homebrewed bikes that i call mobile IEDs. The Police don't seem to be bothered by mine, think it's because it looks like an old school cruiser. If it's over 10 years old slightly different laws apply.
e-Biking is to cycling as pickleball is to tennis. Two completely different things sharing just one aspect: two wheels in the first case, a racket in the second. To sound modern, I refer to my ride either as an "iBike" or a "meBike".
i could say "its lazy to use an ebike instead of a pedelec. especially because throttle in germany is limited to 6 km/h." i really though like that for a long time not owning a pedelec at all... now i think, whatever you ride electric - not on gas or diesel - saves mankinds live on planet a littlebit more at all..... especially if it is about transport ONE person from A to B. Instead of burning gallons of gas a year - pull that throttle.... imagine you live in the southern part owning solar panels on top of your house even better. But i still recommend to use a pedelec that supports you, if you work that pedals. Benefits for the enviorment is one thing - getting healthy cardio on a daily base on top is even better ( now that i ride a riese+müller bike - i ride a hour and have an hour of cardio workout by 125 bpm along that hour - but not sore muscles at all )
Kids love ebikes, people must hate kids...
Good point
Here's one perspective to consider: To many people cycling is about dedication, discipline, fitness, and pushing yourself to the limits. E-bikes just aren't congruent with these principles. It's seen by many as an affront to the sport. Like a celebration of mediocrity.
The thing is I accept that ebike riders don't care what lycra-wearing roadies think of the sport. I fully accept that people will hate this reasoning.
Personally I don't care that much about what ebikes are up to, but I will admit that when I'm struggling up a hill on my ultralight roadbike that cost more than my first car and a person twice my age blows by me on an e-bike and rings their bell I get a little irritated.
Big hater here! Regardless, ebikes are the perfect solution for low-cost short-range transportation. Always amazed me how people can hate when a rider enjoys doing what was originally intended by them. Stay away from the forums. Opinions are like a big a*s, and everybody has one. Hate this, hate that, this is no good, you gotta have that, all from self acclaimed experts, most of whom don't even own an ebike. Unfortunately, it's the rule breakers who are causing all the adverse sentiments from those who otherwise couldn't care less how you live your life. Great positive outlook from this channel, probably because you don't have to wade through all the freaks that other areas seem to collect.
Great input thank you!
People hate on ebikes of how some idiots use it on roads not following rules and regulations. People hate on Teslas because its overpriced and overrated, the price doesnt justify its features. Its not because they are new, your logic is so flawed.
1. Cars don’t even follow rules and regulations.
2. Cybertruck does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. Faster than almost every car. Idk if that’s over rated
If it has a throttle than it is NOT an e-bike....it's. a scooter!!!!
It’s has the option lol
I bought an E-scooter , hehe.
I want one too 😎
8:42 People just hate the bikers because blah blah blah, as he blows through his umpteenth red light…hilarious.
Just for you Skeller
@@BigAndTallBiking I appreciate it. Btw, I got one of the first Apple Watches and I hate it, too. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to make your videos. I just got my first e-bike a couple of weeks ago (a Velotric Discover 2) and love it. Personally, I don’t hate things unless they personally affect me. Even then, it’s generally not the thing, but the mindset of the person using the thing. I think a lot of haters do so out of ignorance. Good luck with your endeavors.

people also dislike bikers due to the way they cut around traffic, disobey traffic norms and yet ride in the street. and then go on sidewalks as well. are you a car or a pedestrian? pick one please and then obey the same rules cars follow and ppl would respect bikers more. my thought anyway. and then on top of that, i bought a new ebike for the first time yesterday =D

You’ll notice that it’s more often in liberal run cities where the hate is strong. They also hate motorcycles, cars, & guns. They are anti everything like the UK. Luckily, I live in Central FL where no one is even concerned about us. Heck, a guy not too far from me built a 72v mtn bike with a Fardriver controller, his own 58ah Molicel battery, & an 8kw QS273 motor that topped out at 105mph. I’m in the middle of 3 builds (2ebike 1 scooter), all 72v, 1 bike 8kw, other bike dual motor 7kw, & scooter dual motor 10kw. Once parts arrive, I’ll start a channel to show the builds.
I dash as well but drive to a major city in affluent areas (Sarasota, NW Tampa, NE Orlando) where I can average $200/hr on weekends.
Keep posting your videos & keep the wheels turning!!
It's hard to understand how somebody smart enough to build his own ebikes thinks this is a political problem. Your opening sentence says it all.

didn't watch the video, just came here to fight. e-bikes strip the exercise from biking, and the joy of riding a bike is returning to the basics. When using e-bikes you are not only complicating the process, but also turn the usage of a bike from this wonderful combination of simple man and metal in order to create a grueling yet rewarding experience into simply a mode of transportation. E-bikes definitely have their uses, but in the world of recreational riding it is incomparable to that of a manual bike/
🤣 buddy
If you think that way you have no clue to what e-biking is and what it's really all about
You could always have both an e bike for clean, quick, inexpensive, and fun transportation and an acoustic bike for recreation if you fancy that. They're both relatively small and do not take up nearly as much room as a car. In fact, you can get a rack for your car that will carry both bikes.
Thats why I have both ebike and normal bike and whenever you want you can choose ;)

Nice what one do you have?
I really like teslas and all, generally electric vehicles are pretty nice, they look futuristic, they look nice, they're clean, they're not full of oil and grease and all of that. But you have to admit one thing. And that is they are not eco friendly, far from it, they actually worse than petrol cars, because of how much pollution happens to get rare earth metals to make all those batteries and electronics and motors, plus it is not safe aswell, it weighs more than most petrol cars with similar size. Unless we have renewable energy sources there isn't a point to electric cars. The pollution still happens, and at a greater level, just not where you drive it, somewhere else, giving the illusion that it is "green".
There's a difference between hating on something, and displaying the facts, there are multiple sites, videos, books that show the flaws of electric cars.
I definitely hear you here 🙏
