    When you said in less than a minute I thought for a second you were just going to cut a couple holes into the speakers box and wire it up lol.

      @jsteezy80 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It will leak and come apart. Some people use screws and glue but really it's the glue that's holding it together. Screws just keep it together until it can dry

    I'm pretty handy and can build just about anything. I've found pre built boxes but I'd like to build my own. I have a 2017 f250 and have six 6.5 ct sounds meso subs. Do you sell or offer any type of drawings or cut lists. Thank you

    Hi, I'm French so it's complicated for me to understand your videos. I would like to make a dual subwoofer for 2 SR124DVC subwoofers. But I found conflicting information for 1 box with 1 single subwoofer, so I'm afraid my calculations are wrong for a box with 2 subwoofers. How much should my box be in volume to have a good result? I'm worse than a beginner in it, and with the information I found I got 105.07 liters. Is it good enough? I intend to lock them in the membrane box downwards magnet upwards with 2 vents on each side which go to the center with a plexiglass plate at the top to close. Is it a terrible choice? Basically, plexiglass at the top, plate 2/3 below the middle which houses the 2 subwoofers upside down, the vents and the bottom plate. Like my Caliber BC112EB . I hope to get an answer from you. I've been looking for a way to do this for a while.

    Do you really need to double up on the 3/4" baffle for a 300w speaker?
    I have two 12w3s on a single layer 3/4" baffle and can't feel any vibration from it. Should I remake my box?

    • @johnclark3067
      @johnclark3067 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He did that for cosmetic reasons. The woofer is recessed and not screwed or bolted through the outer layer. 3/4" MDF is sufficient for this power level and weight of the driver used.

    How do you work out the size (volume) of the box for the speaker and does it matter if it's too big?

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a simple answer as there are a bunch of calculations but yes, too big an enclosure can definitely lead to poor sound performance.

    • @zanechristiansen
      @zanechristiansen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LxWxH lol jk, there's lots of free programs that allow you to put those measurements in and it accounts for the material thickness and will give you a rough estimate of that interior air space. compare with other programs tho because they're not all exact
      like, I modeled my sub in winisd, which is more for tuning an enclosure and less about actual enclosure measurements. but it does give port length and you can play around with that and the internal air space, then on sub box pro, some free online site I used to calculate air space.... I wanted 8.5 cubic foot so when I got the box to that size in sub box pro I compared the port length to that of the length in winisd and made adjustments in sub box pro until the specs were the same. this probly makes no sense and it's exactly why mark didn't give a clear answer lol. it's too much to answer without a whole lesson being preached
      but to add on to what Mark said, it'd be better to be too big cuz you can always take air space away, you can't add it back in 🤓

    How well does making sub enclosures pay? I’m guessing it’s a “paid by the job.” Kind of thing?

    • @gavinswearingen6492

      Unless the customer wants something legitimately custom for their car and sub, you wouldn't even come close to being able to compete with prefab box prices. I just bought some of the material for building a box for one 10". MDF, Titebond III, and spray adhesive were almost 100 dollars. Haven't got any carpet yet, terminal, polyfil. Idk what that stuff will jack the price up to but then also you gotta make money on the labor or it's not worth the time. Unless you know someone who wants to pay 400 bucks plus for just the box. And with the amount of time you'll spend to build it it's not lucrative at all. But if you just like to do it and it puts an extra 100 or 2 in your pocket then it's fun and rewarding.
