    This bass actually has some vintage tone mojo that previous modern fenders lacked, nice job Fender, and great playing on the demo Julia.

    It really is the little things that make up the great things in life.

    LOVE MY TONY FRANKLIN BASS!!!!
    Actually it's been available for longer than any other signature instrument in Fender history.
    Longest running, best made.

    That bass sounds amazing in Julia's hands. I love the riff with all the ghost notes she plays at 2:45. I'm trying to get better at that style of playing and it's not easy.

    I've owned 2 jazz basses, so I had to buy a third. I went with the Texas Tea on the Ultra. It's fantastic. A nice complement to the family.

    "these feature your choice of fret board. ... color dependant. ... depending on color you will only have ONE CHOICE of maple or rosewood ..."
    That clears it up.
    We can choose the fretboard Fender decides to match with each paint color. So you get to choose what's already decided.

    After watching this video I was curious and got on the Fender website. One thing that struck me as odd is, it appears that they don't string the American basses thru the body anymore. Maybe I'm just too old school but I always thought that was one of the nicest features of the American Standards an American Deluxe Jazz basses.

    I wish they'd bring the American Standard S1 back. It's a Fender Jazz Bass with a button that transforms it into a Rickenbacker! Epic!

      Transfender?

    • @marcs4091
      @marcs4091 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Has a button that changes the wiring of the pickups from parallel to series. If you ever played a Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003. They have a second Jack that says Rick o sound. Sounds a little like that. They came out in 2003. I believe they only made them for a couple years but not sure. They're really nice back when fenders were still strung through the body.

    I got the jazz bass. Return it after 2 set ups in 3 weeks. Fret buzz on the E then the G string. But super good looking bass. Not sure if just that neck or what but it bug me.

    • @stankowalski4574
      @stankowalski4574 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try a Schecter Diamond J-4 or a Lakland Skyline. I own both and they are way better than anything Fender puts out, and not just "for the money." ( You may want to change the pickups, but that's personal preference ) My Schecter Diamond J-4 smokes any Fender I've owned or played, the playability is excellent, low action without fret buzz. An almost $2,000 dollar bass shouldn't have fret buzz anywhere. The nut and fretwork should be immaculate at that price. After being continually disappointed with the quality and workmanship ( specifically the fretwork and nut filing ) of Fender guitars I now play Schecter Diamond, ESP LTD, Lakland Skyline and G&L. Less expensive and better quality. Glad I switched.

    Fantastic,,,,, screw the haters. You could give them a million in cash and they would complain that it's all in hundred dollar bills instead of 20s. Looking forward to buying two or 3 basses out of this collection.

    2 grand for the ultras. I guess not too bad for an American made fender.

  • @stankowalski4574
    @stankowalski4574 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really want to go back to Fender, but I have a Schecter Diamond J-4 for $800 that plays better than any Fender bass ( Custom Shop or production line ) I've owned or played. Also, the Lakland Skyline P/J bass is also very good for about $1,250. I can't help but feel we're paying way more extra money just for the name "Fender." In addition, stock Fender pickups are anywhere from mediocre to terrible, especially compared to a set of Seymour Duncans.

      @@dtales77 Actually... Audiovox made the first electric bass. Back in 1935 it was sold from the catalog as the Model 736.
      I do agree though that it was Fender that popularized electric basses.

    Julias playing is on point, my dear lord does she have the groove
    Although one small suggestion to improve your english pronounciation (imho): you seem to tense up a lot of unnecessary muscles in the mouth/toung area in order to produce some specific sounds, try identify those sounds and try make them relaxing everything, a bit like your arms are relaxed while you play bass! Idk, just my 2 cents on it, hope this is helpful :)
