Pls don’t ever erase this beautiful because it’s just the most beautiful thing truly extraordinary. A complete deferent versión from the original one which was by John Coltrane, but they’ve got the most essential part and the one that defines the piece itself. This is truly Beaty itself.

1980s smooth jazz expert doing justice with a touch of Grover in the melody, and sketches of Charlie Parker in the improvisation. Wise posting!

My best "Organic Real Jazz" performance of its time!
And, Ernie Watts' - both for the dexterous inferno Eric and Ernie have so passionately ignited.

IMHO Cat developed his own voice. My preference is mainstream and BeBop but I can listen to some contemporary, like E.M. and several others that put their heart and soul into it. This Cat is BadAss !!

Sax solo far outperforms the naff, nice-guy chat.
Drop the blurb and do what you do best, blowing that horn.
    That's A1.

Eric Marienthal is a self-proclaimed Julian ' Cannonball' Adderley influenced and inspired saxophonist.
He credits David Sanborn for only his now-abandoned use of split tones ( on the F# and G ); neither adoption of which is utilized in this performance.
And David is first and foremost a Blues saxophonist whose influences have come from Hank Crawford and King Curtis; the former in respect of melody, and the latter with regards to the altissimo overtone high notes.
However , David Sanborn's non-standard earthy tonal sound-voice reminisces more saxophonists Earl Bostic and Ace Cannon rather than Hank Crawford .
Eric Marienthal neither plays nor sounds like David Sanborn who has a personably individualised sound-voice - and style - which is almost inimitable .
Grover Washington's tonal sound-voice commands smoothness, warmth and spiritual melancholia . Listen to his treatment of this said tune; how he impeccably employs the afore-mentioned qualities interlaced with sketches of organic Jazz utterances.
