Jack, another great vid! Love your enthusiasm and knowledge. You and Jayemm are the best car reviewers on TH-cam by far! Honest, grown up, informed opinions. Thanks
Looks like heaps of fun, but as you said, unless you take it to the track, it is a bit of a waste. I agree with the Evora comments. I suppose it comes down to how you are really going to use it. I started my build thinking I was going to make a race car for the road, then I had a reality check and realised I wouldn't track it that much. If you are only planning on keeping it a few months and then moving on, then get the Exige.
I used to have a VX220 Turbo which I know is more akin to the Elise but with the exposed aluminum and low seating position it just felt special every time I drove it, if it's a weekend car go for the Exige imo, plus the 4c is not available in manual and if your not going for out and out track times that might make a difference even though I think the 4c looks stunning it has put me off.
I think the only things that would sway you to choose the 4C over the Exige would be for day-to-day practicality and more comfortable ride quality. Other than that, I would imagine that the Exige trumps it at everything else!
I was making that choice, drove both and got the Exige. It's comfier, better ride quality, less droning at speed, has a larger boot and is better to drive. The V6is so much nicer than the 4 cylinder. The Exige is just so motorsport. No denying the 4C looks stunning and I would still have one but could not do a long trip in it. Did 1,000 miles in the Exige in the first week to run it in and I don't think I could have done that in a 4C!
I saw the thumbnail and thought it looked very similar to GF Williams'! Presumably you got chatting to him on the PH Forums? Love these cars, they looks spectacular, rocket fast and a cracking chassis... The Evora S is a good shout and arguably has a nicer looking side profile but overall the Exige S is both the better looking and faster of the two. I can't see the 4c being anywhere near as good but it definitely has something about it that is just so appealing.
That drift clip in the beginning had me screaming. Everyone keeps posting basic and boring videos of these cars but who ever that was is the first person with the balls to slide it. Not sure how it even moved with that much weight in the cabin lol
Yep, definitely want to try an Evora S! I know you can't have everything but i'm worried it may loose the excitement you get with the Exige.. will be interesting to see!
If you're a real driver then you will want a car with a proper manual transmission, and that eliminates the 4C. I would have considered buying a 4C if it came with a manual. I personally find automatics a bore to drive.
I know new ones are lightning quick, but still not as engaging as a manual. Getting a heel-toe downshift just right is simply magic. The only reason I would get an automatic is if I had to drive in heavy traffic on a daily basis. Even then I'd have a second car that's a manual for the weekend.
Excellent choice of car! The Lotus Exige S far exceeds the Alfa Romeo 4C. But perhaps hold on to the the Porsche as you could have a RR layout, a MR with the Lotus, and acquire a FR for a well rounded garage.
Ha!!! it was supposed to sound dramatic... I guess it did not work for you mango?? Music is always tricky, has to be copyright free or TH-cam does the electronic equivalent of bending me over and smacking my bum!!
Great to see someone clearly loving the development Lotus have invested in a great driver's car. It's a dream of mine to own an Exige. Great vid!

Cheers Jeff... interesting commentary as always!
Nice vid, thanks! Love my Exige it's such a good all-round car!

Hey Henderson.. I would have loved to have tried a VX220.. look great fun!
Videos are hitting an amazing standard Jack!
Thanks Trevor, really appreciate you following and commenting! It's a lot of work and though I enjoy it do wonder sometimes if it's worth while!

I think you're probably right there kman!

Hey Edwin.. know George through other car heads.. hew was super kind letting me have this for the day! Will be interesting to try our an Evora...

Looked like a lot of fun. Enjoyable watch.
Cheers Anthony.. glad you enjoyed it!
Hello, for me interesting question is how does it compare to 996 gt3 mk1 in tearms of driving excitement?
How tall are you and was ingress and egress enough to put to off? Also, how did you find the lack of power steering at low speed?
Wow, that looks a hoot! Ok, you've won me over. Sell the 964 and Lancia and get one of these bad boys! Great vid btw.
Ewan!! Thanks for the nice comments.. most of all satisfying to see I've changed someone's opinion!
the irony of that number plate ‘DUII’ !
can we have engine noise not tribute band style music. thanks !
Yep.. no music in my later videos!!
Isn't the Evora a more practical car?...
Certainly easier to get in and out of!

at least you will stand out of the crowd with an Evora as you see them so little...!.... (but might still prefer an 944 Turbo instead!.....

Doug Maverick know what you mean Doug .. but modern autos are not the same as the old slushboxes!!

You're really right about heel and toe... the GT3 I recently drove was just magic for that! Have a look t the vid if you've not already seen it!
What an awesome track toy
Rally enjoyed this one!!

Ha!! intersting idea there Jonathan!
nice one squire!
Cheers Flossy!!! Thanks for watching mate!
Good road choice for the car, Beachy Head
Hey Patrick.. yes, unfortunately just too many people around who don't appreciate the savage beauty of the Exige...
Good Video!
🙏
Get one... I did.
Seriously considering it! Perhaps an Ever S might be a better day to day proposition though!
You looks ridiculous inside that tiny cabin. Nice Lotus....
If it’s tight on you I would have no chance 😉👍🏽
What is the terrible music all about?
