Mi-24 (NATO reporting name Hind, Russian: Mil Mi-24, popularly known as "Crocodile") is a Soviet infantry support helicopter (attack helicopter). It was the main attack helicopter of the socialist countries. The Mi-24 concept envisaged close interaction with armored and infantry units during the large-scale military conflict of the second half of the 20th century. It became one of the symbols of the War in Afghanistan. It is currently in service with a number of countries, including Ukraine.
