Love cat trapping!! Good tips on the visual aspect for guiding and use of smells.I always try to place sets so flagging is seen from at least two directions, keep their attention until its foot hits the pan.
Thanks Dale, that was explained real well. I knew " cubbies for cats" but you explained the why and how. We're just now getting some cats in SW Ohio. No season yet though.
Good call on the cats ability to smell. If they didn’t have a good nose then they wouldn’t be b-lining it through the thick brush straight to our sets. Your guide stick setup works up here in the snow, with a few more poking straight up so the snow doesn’t cover them up as fast. Thanks again👍
Thanks for going into detail. The only cat I got was in my coyote set. There is no season open yet in my county. But always looking to learn more and when they do open up the season. I will be semi ready for what I need to do . Thanks for taking the time to go into all you been doing to teach about different ways of trapping.
Excellent video. Cubbies are Deadly on cats. As per gnats. As a kid I fished A Lot at farm ponds tall grass n gnats went together. I used vanilla to repel them. Raw garlic rubbed on skin n clothes tobrepel ticks. Hope it helps
Great video Dale! A bobcat is on my bucket list, but here in Pa. I have to travel quite a ways to get to the areas that you can trap, but someday I'm going to take the time to do it.
G'day Dale mate here in Nt Qld Australia feral house cats gone wild are massive problem just wiping out our native species like you wouldn't believe right throughout our bushland Australia wide I'm presently switching over from wild dogs to cats with foot traps does the same tactics you describe for bob cats work on all cats these cats are totally wild mostly never seen man would cubbys work! Watch all your clips and enjoy the great information.
