    As an rv master technician you NEVER install airbags on a camper trailer. After you installed Timbrens, you would want to install an add a leaf. DO NOT INSTALL AIRBAGS OR THEY WILL LEAK OR POP.

    may want to get a locking gas cap, just for some peace of mind. since you don't have the door to cover the gas cap, someone can just twist the gas cap off and play any number of pranks. locking gas cap won't be 100% effective, nothing is... but it's a deterrent. good luck!

About 300.00 per spring. Gave me a 3 to 4 inch lift in the back and I have Bilstein shocks in the front that have 3 adjustments. Raised the front 2 3/4 in . Has a slight rake with no load .

  • @chilidog73

    Airbags being adjustable seem to be the way to go almost always. Anytime the rear sags it pulls the front end off the ground even in just a little bit and will affect your traction and steering.

  • @useritscarrot
    @useritscarrot 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Bump stops aren't for rear end sag. They are for when you hit bumps at full speed. It absorbs the bump better.
    Defitnely get air bags asap.
    It's horrible for your driveshaft u joint geometry angles. It's also bad for the rear axle ring gear.
    Get air bags asap. I wouldn't drive more than 500 miles like that on a used truck.

    • @JonathanYentch
      @JonathanYentch  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Timbrens aren’t exactly bump stops I just say that for ease of explanation. They’re suspension enhancement helpers which are intended to keep your truck level when loaded but since my truck has a slight lift they don’t prevent the sag on it unfortunately.

    Airbags are the way to go hands down. Box vans that have massive payload, tow rigs, all kinds of vehicles that regularly carry heavy payloads use airbags to modulate the ride height and will keep your shocks from squatting like that which is unsafe and will lead to premature wear as well.

  • @williamblair4071
    @williamblair4071 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Carry 4 bricks with you. Lower the jacks onto the bricks. This will give you enough room to install the camper onto the wood platform. Keep the bricks with you to lower/raise the camper off the truck bed.

    I think that maybe because of the bigger tires, you got a "lift". This would have caused the Timbrens to be just a bit too low (because they are designed to fit perfectly with stock diameter wheels/tires). Call Timbren and ask them about spacers you can use under the installed Timbrens to match the "lift" from the extra diameter of the new wheels/tires. Spacers or whatever they recommend should solve the problem. Almost there!!
