Great tutorial man 👍🏾. Only advice for everybody to avoid clean of cameralens. Liquid and touch on cam cause microscaatch, use a hand airblower if nessecery or cover it with heatres tape.
Note that if your lens glass is broken open, you can then get dust and junk in your camera, so don't delay in getting it fixed. You also don't want glass shards falling in there, so probably want to use a strong vacuum. The lens glass is a critical piece and I found that without it you cannot focus correctly. Seems you won't be able to test until you have affixed the new glass. Order sapphire lens glass, not regular.
Took me 2 hours but its a near perfect fix only mistake was not cleaning the inside of the new lens glass as i foound out after sticking it on that it had a slight smudge in centre which at some angles in photos causes a slight whites reflection.
Josh could be right. That glass is is pretty tough tho. It sounds more to me like they might have touched the glass when installing, getting smudges underneath. Generally speaking, repair shops offer a 1 yr warranty on work. I would suggest taking it back and having them find the solution.
Can someone please help. My iPhone 14 pm looks exactly like this , dropped it today and now I can’t take clear photos unless I zoom out. But I can get crystal clear zoomed out so is this a lens repair or camera please 😞
Nah it doesnt change the quality because you're not chaning the main camera but only the glass but when its changed you can tell the difference between a changed lens and real one it kinda looks bad
So, I went to the Geeks, they are charging $200 for the repair. I was willing to pay. Then they increased it to $500. I took my phone and money and am now look to do this myself.
Bro. This is so bad. You’re cutting toward your thumb, you scratched up the screen, you used a dirty toothbrush to scrub the lens… consider taking this video down. Or editing it heavily.
Thanks for comment lenpup. I understand the sentiment behind not cutting towards your thumb. It’s the first rule I was taught with knives. But when you’re working with small electronics, the rules are a little different. Cutting away from the thumb is how you slip and cut cables. Notice how the base of my thumb is at the base of the knife? This is a controlled cut. There is absolutely no possible way for me to cut my thumb, as my thumb is the guide for the knife. I did scratch the screen. I talked about it in the video. Not every repair goes according to plan. As a tutorial, I wanted the viewer to see this as doing your own repairs come with some risk. For me as a professional, I already had screens on hand and it wasn’t a big deal. For the average person watching this video, it is a big deal. With this is mind, from my perspective, “heavily editing” the video is the same as lying. I want people to see the process, good and bad. Hey! Merry Christmas and good luck on your future repairs!
Thank you! My 3 boys broke mine and I bought a replacement. Had no clue how to do it, but thankfully I found your tutorial!

Is it not possible to fix the damaged metal ring around the lens??

Thanks for the great video. Just finished installing mine with no issues. I really appreciate the help

using the toothbrush on the lens wont damage the lens?
Can we repair the scratches around the camera lens (camera frame scratches)
Do you have se 2020?
does this work for an iphone 12 mini?
Thanks ! just did mine and followed your steps.
Awesome great job Benzi!
Hey, I broke my 13 pro max’s rare camera and take it to service, they replaced this glass like you did but my camera is blurry, what can i do
Whoever did your service ruined the main camera with their tweezers

Just commented to avoid clean of lens. Cover it if not USE airblow very gently.

Thanks, easy to follow, clearly explained. I successfully changed my lens cover.
Does the camera quality changes ?and are there any drawbacks of changing these glasses?
Thats what im wondering

My son broke my class camera. And I am not in the state. I am not sure who to give it to fix it.
i can’t get it from the side parts at all. so frustrating
TYSM 🥰
They need to use hard plastic again. Remember the Nokia 3210? I could throw that thing and it wouldn’t break
dude, you fucked up the camera ring pretty bad, terrible repair in my book
That looks bad.
Surely that's the lens COVER you're working on there and not the LENS. This thing doesn't focus light or anything like that. What am I missing here?
don't use a toothbrush, it just made it worse

Music is properly annoying

What if there is a scratch on the inner camera's oval lens? is there any solution?
