1937 Len Lye - "Trade tattoo" (highlights edit)

This film is easily 60 years older than most people would think when viewing it uninformed. It is fast-paced, very colorful and contains many elements similar to contemporary vj-ing which makes it hard to believe this was actually made in 1937.

It's interesting that he illustrated about mailing letters...like post early, post before 2p.m.The illustration of an envelope is now exactly like the icon for email. Now, we don't need to go to the post office to send letters; we have an instant message system and social media...how would Len Lye would view today's communication tools.
