    OSU was the biggest motivator for Georgia. OSU showed them that if they didn't bring their A game they could be beaten. There was no way Georgia wasn't going to be prepared for this game after that. Then they came out and unleashed dominance so there would be no doubt as to who the Champion is.

      I’m tired of people saying “Georgia didn’t bring their A game.” “Georgia played a bad game.” No one is ever going to play a perfect game. The same can be said about OSU. Because if OSU played their “A game” then they score a TD instead of a FG and they hit that last second FG instead of hooking it. Simply put, OSU was just as good as Georgia, at least that day. And it’s time to stop taking away from OSU and simply saying Georgia didn’t play well. OSU is a very good team.

    That close game they played with Ohio State was the best thing that could have happened to them at the best time. I don't know if they would have beat any other playoff team that bad. Lol, no. UM absolutely sh*t the bed against TCU… McCarthy had more TD passes to TCU than his own team for a large portion of the game. TCU had no business in the playoff, but USC and Bama had 2 losses.
      tOSU absolutely could have beaten Georgia and probably should have. It took an absolute garbage FG kick for them to win (and a bit of a coaching f-up by tOSU in the 4th).
      Georgia was the best team in the playoff (they were rated #1 after all), but pounding a JV team that was lucky to be there proves nothing.
      Michigan and tOSU absolutely could’ve beat Georgia. TCU needed like 10 4th quarter come back wins in the garbage Big 12… calm down.

    • @michaelbee2165
      @michaelbee2165 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Joesej That TCU had so many close games in the Big 12 says they didn't belong in the playoffs. But 2 losses by Alabama, by slim margins kept them out. Another way of looking at TCUs record is that only a pretty dang good team would be able to come from behind and win so many games.

    As a Tennessee fan I knew exactly what was going to happen. UGA had been sleepwalking through their games until they felt they were challenged and you saw what happened when all that talent was actually focused. UGA was expecting OSU to be similar to UT so they came in underestimating them and weren't about to let that happen against TCU. But I didn't expect the beat-down to be so bad. We lost by only 2 TDs in their home to the most hostile crowd we've ever faced in Athens. TCU was blown out on a neutral field. Wow.

    I honestly think last years Georgia team was the best CFB in the last decade, with 2019 LSU being the only real competition. There were no huge record-setting superstars like Joe Burrow or Justin Jefferson, but the entire team was running like a perfectly-tuned mechanized beast. There were seemingly no weak spots or holes on the roster, so they were able to keep things chugging along on both sides of the ball. TCU had some ballers like Max Duggan and Kendre Miller, but Georgia just had way more depth and seemingly no weaknesses.

Whereas if Bama and UGA did the same, Tennessee and LSU would step up and be perennial championship teams and Teams like Ole Miss, Texas A&M, SC, Auburn, Florida (not this season for UF, UA, or TAMU tho obviously) would step up and fill that 10-2, 9-3 team slot left by Tennessee and LSU who would be going 11-1, 12-0. I've watched TCU for years against my Sooners and I was surprised at TCU in this game. One thing they never do is give up. But that was the most frustrated TCU team I have ever seen. But, this is the first year under this new coach. Patterson coached teams never let themselves get intimidated. I am not saying it would have been a whole lot different but this TCU team never adjusted to anything. They kept getting blown off the ball and were two steps behind on every play. With that said, this isn't a problem with the playoff committee like a lot of SEC homers are shouting. This is a problem with college football. The talent level is clustering toward the southeastern quarter of the country, namely to the top teams in the SEC and teams soon to join the SEC. A few other teams are getting some good players. Ohio State, Miami to name a couple. The fact is you can't have a one conference playoff so this is what you get with a four team format.

    The portal and NIL, MBG. 4 and 5 stars at the elite schools who aren't sure they will start because other 4 or 5 stars are ahead of them are figuring out that getting on the field is more important than being on the bench for an elite team. They will still get the benefit of the intra-team competition and culture of the elite team that recruited them out of high school, but now it is much easier for them to take that elite player development opportunity and get a shot on the field for another team WHERE THEY CAN PLAY, like TCU, which just picked up three of Alabama's 4 and 5 stars, among others. Elite will be getting less elite, and some sub-elite teams like TCU will rise enough to at least stay on the field with the elites and occasionally beat 'em. All of these kids come to the elite school wide-eyed at the prospect of being a superstar, but the smart ones who aren't getting that chance come to the awareness that it may never happen for them if they don't leave for a place where they can play. When that elite team has run out the time it can USE them to have a "quality depth chart," they will have the special experience of being on the sideline with an elite team, and they will have memories of grueling practices and camaraderie with their teammates, something they could have gotten at any school, and most enduringly, they will have the lifelong frustration of wondering what might have been if they had gotten a realistic shot in actual games.

    In all honesty I didn’t expect TCU to beat Georgia. My problem is that in my opinion, the SEC has turned into what I call “NFL Lite”, in the sense that they literally destroy every team they play, specifically Georgia, that’s not really a good thing. I just think that Georgia is this good because they play cupcake schedules. Why the fuck do they play teams like Charleston southern, Kent state, Samford? Next year they have UT-Martin, UAB, and Ball State in the beginning of the season, that’s not a good set of games, because I know for a fact that they’re gonna blow out all 3 of those teams

    Let's get fair here ... even if not a TCU fan at all. Logic tells me TCU made the finals ... a beat down notwithstanding. But that raises the question: Who did they beat to get to the finals, where they lost 65 to 7, if they are so bad? Taking that logic a step further ... Michigan got really exposed. But they are one of the name schools so everyone gives them a free pass.

  • @greggonzalez661

    Michigan shouldn't have been able to beat OHIO State, but they did. TCU shouldn't have beat Michigan, but they did. Georgia came to get that W with no mistakes. TCU made tons of mistakes and Georgia made them pay. I really don't even think Ohio State compares with Georgia. I think the long break really effects teams how they play. If Georgia was playing Ohio State in the championship, I would argue the game would be still lop sided, maybe not as bad as TCU, but Georgia is clearly the dominant team in the FBS.

Texas still wins that game if a blown safety call wasn’t made. TCU beat Texas pretty good. So the only team TCU had no business playing was Georgia. Man i hear ya however, that's the purpose of having a playoff in ANY sport man.. sometimes teams that folks SAY that shouldn't win, actually pull it off! Regardless of how bad of a game Michicgan played against TCU, you still gotta show up and play your A game in order to say you are better than your opponent. 4&5 Stars be damned, you still gotta show up and play the game bro. Georgia found ways to win all season despite NOT always playing their A game. I'm a Mizzou fan and watch MU have them down for nearly 4 QTRS but Gerogie found a way to win it. Yeah MU PROBABLY should have beat them on that day but that's the difference between a back to back National Championship teams and a 6-7 team. You find a way to when you ain't supposed to win.
