Students take action after hearing couple's honeymoon story

- Gilbert Caldwell and his wife, Grace, didn't get the honeymoon they dreamed of 60 years ago. They were turned away from a hotel for being black. After teaching a powerful lesson to a group of students, they recently got a second honeymoon. Steve Hartman has their story "On The Road."

@@cats0182 If you mean teaching children love, tolerance, compassion and being of service and productive then that is a good thing. All the teens I know, including our own, are loving caring individuals. They do volunteer work and help those less fortunate that ourselves and those that can't do the things they use to. The elderly, physically challenged, animals and children benefit from their love and kindness. You know following in the footsteps of Jesus for all those that claim to be Christian but actually do not practice it.

It was never bleak, every generation thinks the current generation is bleak. There are wonderful kids/teens out there, you just never read enough about them.

Yeah! That part of kids sneaks up on us at the most needful moments. Then THEY remind US to to shut up and listen. And remember. And apologize and make amends.
I love how kids can see with such clarity (sometimes)
They're in their 80s and still hug and kiss. So much in love. 5th graders would be about 10-11 years old and are off to a terrific start. They are what make this country still great. It's those who run it that give it a black eye. These kids really felt emotional to the heart (Emily was getting teary eyed)
For a long while I've refused to have kids because I didn't want them to grow up in a world where they would see all the pain and injustice that does happen... but kids like this make me realize that they'll be okay. That kids can change someone's life or the world if they really work together.

After we are gone the only thing left is our kids. They ARE OUR FUTURE. They are like our lawns we have to tend to all the time. Keeping them green and watered. Making sure the weeds don't destroy them. They are our future!
Children see no colour, no religion, no race!!

I listened, understood and began to cry when the young girl began to cry and say how it hurts her, a ton. I have had many racial incidents in my life, even this week but I have seen many changes towards healing. I call on the Lord to make things known to others so we can be the best that God made us all to be. Watching this older couple talk about the hurt and pain so long ago, hurt my heart as well. I'm happy that this school allowed children to hear and act for all mankind. This wonderful gesture to make things right will impact thousands of people now and in the future. These children saw humans. Not color, not an agenda simply a beautiful couple that was treated unfairly based on something they had zero control over. How they came into the world. If we could All just be kind to Humans. Thats it just kindness to all people the world would become a better place and I want that for generations to come... 🙏😊

This so beautiful.. I woke up this morning and I opened my iPad and there was this story brought a tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. These kids are being raised in households where right is right is right and wrong is wrong PERIODT ..... sweet babies... Praise God.... ❤️🙌🏾🙏🏽

This is a result of very good parenting. Hats off to the kids and the parents and all others for making this happen. I hope the couple enjoyed their second honeymoon, may they have many more.
If i watch another story im gonna need to be hospitalized for dehydration. I haven't cried this much since my mother died. Keep telling these stories. We need to be reminded of compassion, love, and humility.
