Hahahaha hammerhead as our only bait gets chomped by a hammerhead shark. On camera.
But not after we were completely soaked through by an errant late right turn that the Niteshift missed whilst traversing the waves. Our hapless victims (students on vacation from Holland and Portugal) however were young enough to get up off the floor and get back at the ocean for some fishing fun.
The takeaway from this video is quite simply that if your catamaran style boat is big enough, and you are going fast enough in the right direction (forward and out to sea), you can hit a wave at a very acute angle and be just fine. Safely soaking your entire crew as you go along doing it.
It was quite un-nerving as we made the transition from little mono-hulls to bigger cats. Hitting waves sideways like that took quite some to time to get used to. But once you adapt your tactical thinking around this new-found ability, you can build it right in to your fast-thinking ensuring safe and dry launches for everyone.
