You can clearly hear in the rhytms the connection with Poesie Noire. Even the female voice could be from Marianne Valvekens. In that case it's Morton, PORTON, Sherman and Belluci. Morton, Porton & Sherman = Poesie Noire (minus W.ex Ray) and Roland Beelen was the boss of Antler-Subway records.
Interesting, did Poesie Noire released an album with similar atmosphere to New Beat, or specifically this track? I've explored most of New Beat scene, now I'm entering New Wave music, which seems like it's biggest source of influence.
Several New Beat tracks, including this track and one of their biggest New Beat hits, Erotic Dissidents' "Move your ass and feel the beat" were recorded/produced in the same period when they recorded Poesie Noire's album Tetra. If you forget some vocals and concentrate on the rhytms by tracks like Tame, you can feel & hear the New Beat atmosphere. Move your ass and feel the beat was originally recorded with Marianne Valvekens, later they find another woman who could sing, dance and perform at Erotic Dissidents recordings and live gigs.
@@kennetht.2703 I think you may have confused Marianne with Nikkie Van Lierop, aka Jade 4U among many other aliases. She was the vocalist on the Erotic Dissidents’ singles and album (using the name “Zoogy”) before moving on to work primarily with Praga Khan and his crew. In fact, the album track “Right Rhythm, Right Time” is billed as “featuring Jade 4U” and is in fact a duet with herself! 😆 Also, I think the vocal is a male voice processed through a pitch bender, which is a common feature in MSB’s New Beat singles.
@@scottborst7538 I didn't confused Marianne with Nikkie and that Nikkie was the vocalist of the first Erotic Dissidents hits when they were recorded was also likely but new for me is that she did the vocals for the whole album as i read in that time in Belgian media around '89 about The Erotic Dissidents indicating as that the woman on stage was different and not Nikkie. But that could be staged, set up and with a hairpiece, a wig you can do a lot as i saw with 101. And many acts were created and recorded in studio before they went out to look for a woman who could perform that act live/ playback on stage. The first track of the Erotic Dissidents, "Move your ass and feel the beat" was created in/around the same time Poesie Noire did record their album Tetra and all bandmembers had nicknames, aliases when Tetra came out, Morton, Porton & Sherman which is mentioned in the credits (thanks to...) on the inset of the vinyl version of Tetra. And so far as i know was Porton the nickname of Marianne although, so far as i know, she didn't made/sung on any new beat track. So far as i remember was Move your ass & feel the beat created by accident during the period they were busy with Tetra. And about Nikkie: she did already worked also with Maurice Engelen, known for his alias Praga Khan, as that were her first records, works on Subway ( Shakti). It was a bit confusing in those time with all those nicknames, aliases in use for many Subway, Subway Dance, Kaos, Complete Kaos amd other Antler subdivisions records.
Morton Sherman Belluci, fantastic trio, thank you
THANKS!!!
