Ik heb alles zien komen en gaan in de jaren 80: post-punk, new-romantic, batcave, new-wave, trad goth, neofolk, EBM, new-beat, ... Sinds midden jaren 1990 is er geen publiek meer voor alternatieve/underground genres. Het herhalen van het verleden maakt mij eerder triest. Er zijn ondertussen nieuwe genres die aansluiten bij die uit de jaren 80. Helaas blijven zowel de oudere generaties als de nieuw hangen bij wat ooit was maar er niet meer is.
