Yes you definitely need to watch the movie. The voice that is singing is not actually the actress. The actress is Rebecca Ferguson, the singing voice is Loren Allred who was on the show The Voice.
There are several live versions of Loren singing it out there, and they are breathtaking.
Lauren actually sang it as herself on Britain Got Talent a few weeks ago. It was a true revelation everyone.She got the gold buzzer. Can't wait to see how this pans out for her. She is deserving of all the accolades she has had over it.

I love this song (and the entire movie). One thing to be aware of - this actress did not sing this song. Rebecca Ferguson is the actress, but Loren Allred sang it. There are 2 videos of the workshop that got this movie green-lit. One is Keala Settle singing ‘This is Me’. The other is Hugh Jackman singing ‘FromNow On’. They are both amazing.
Most amazing and believable jobs of lip syncing I have ever seen, though.
Loren is in the greenlight videos - dark curly hair behind Keala - wearing a dark outfit with a burgundy red scarf, next to the long-haired lady in the light-colored shirt.

This was a movie. The actress playing Jenny Lind is Rebecca Ferguson. The song was sung by Loren Allred. So the person you see singing is NOT singing. Rebecca has been in the Mission Impossible movies and British TV series. She is one of the leads in the new Dune movie also. Loren SINGS, and SINGS, and .................................
The lyrics are amazing, and it starts with her saying this person brought out a dream within her. She wants him to take her hand, because without him, those things like the gold towers and stars in the sky will never be enough... without him.

It's my favourite movie of all time. The woman singing is Loren Allred, but she was the voice double for the actress, who is Rebecca Ferguson. My favourite version of this is when Loren sang it live during 'An Intimate Evening with David Foster'

I think the song is from the prospective of a wealthy/famous woman who has everything and dreams only of her true love.

It sounds like a love song but it's actually about greed and ambition. No matter how much she has, it will never be enough for her. Perfect song for her character.

I put the implied meaning in the parenthesis, but it's obvious because directly before the chorus the last thing she sings is "Cause darling, without you... none of this other stuff will ever be enough."
This is absolutely, 100% a love song. It doesn't have to be a strictly ROMANTIC love song, but it is indeed a love song. Nothing in this person's life will ever have any meaning without the person she's singing to. It's obvious from the lyrics.
Also, the very next 2 scenes in the movie reveal that Jenny is in love with Mr. Barnum. She's breaking down in tears during her next performance and can barely sing because Mr. Barnum rejects her. I'm confused by your comment about her character, since (in the movie, not real life) none of the fame or adulation she is getting for her singing means anything to her anymore without his love.

Here is the story told in this song: She has a dream she is chasing, and asks for her lover to take her hand, and go with her through the pursuit of it. When she declares that living without him nothing would matter - "The shine of a thousand spotlights" Means - "All the fame". The next line refers to all the stars in heaven - none of it would matter without him. Next "Towers of Gold" means all the money in the world - and the reference to "These hand could hold the world" Means all the power she could ever have. But it's all never enough without him.

I know everyone talks about Loren’s voice, but Rebecca brought the song to the life on the screen. Perfect lip sync.
So I've read that she didn't actually lip sync, she sang it herself. However, when watching it back, she decided that Loren's version was so much better that they just dubbed Loren's voice over Rebecca's. That's why you can see her throat muscles moving as she belts out the high parts. It came out perfectly.
The movie is about P.T. Barnum (played by Hugh Jackman). Amazing movie!

YES, YES, YES! I would love to see you react to this movie!! You would love it!! I think it's become my favorite movie! It is a romaticized musical story of P.T. Barnum and the origins of the first circus. The lyrics of the song basically are saying without you, none of these other things will ever be enough for me. The whole musical is jam packed with amazing songs.

This is one of the best musical movies out there! You must watch the movie! But not until after you've reacted to all the songs!
The gist of the song is that you could give her the world, and it still wouldn't be enough... without his love. That's as spoiler-y as I'm gonna get. And yes, that's Hugh's character's wife in the audience, knowingly looking back and forth between the two. Not even going to try to explain Zac's and Zendaya's characters. Lol!

Loren Allred did a Zoom Interview with a British Program called Lorraine.
The Interview was done after Loren Allred Auditioned for Britain's Got Talent and The Golden Buzzer 🌟 and she had returned to America
I think that this Interview will hopefully help answer a lot of questions and give a better understanding of her as a Artist.

I always thought both the movie and the song were mainstream and well-known, but I guess not then 😁. Definitely check out the movie. This scene when put in context on the story, will yield the same expression on all of us as that on Hugh Jackman.

First thing is that I had never seen or heard of Loren Allred until the Notification from my Subscription to BGT and their affiliated Events.
Once I watched her Audition I then researched her out carefully.
I've been in the Production industry so I know Not to comment without proper research. I hope that this will explain everything that I've written.
Therefore I'm reposting my edited comments that I have put together from other postings to give everyone my understanding on how I see Loren Allred
Regards to Loren Allred and People's Negative Comments replies or Posting and don't understand what the difference between a Professional Performer and Amateurs who don't normally get paid.
Anyone who gets paid for performing is considered a professional no matter how much money or popularity they may have.
It's to what level Artist reaches in their careers.
In regards to her Actual Audition remember there's a Lot of difference between Performing and being Judged.
The Best of the Best can still have Butterflies 🦋 and Shaking Nerves.
All in All this is still a Fabulous Audition.
Remember that this was a Audition not a Paid Performance.
So let's try to see ourselves in her position putting herself out there taking and risking it all.
It's been 5 Years since The Greatest Showman was released.
She didn't take advantage of her position.
Look at Loren Allred TH-cam Videos. Although she's done some Great Performances and Live concert events overall in the past.
It wasn't until this Audition at Britain's Got Talent that she's Finally getting the Amazing Response and Recognition.

Only in certain musical circles maybe Yes people knew of her.
Now that she's Audition on BGT people are finally getting around to see what she's trying to make of herself
So she's Very Deserving of The Long Overdue Recognition for her Vocals of that Powerful Song in the Movie.
What a Fabulous and Humble Reaction that she seemed to be in awed by the Audience Reaction at the end of her finished audition.

OMG, Yeeeeessssss you HAVE to watch the movie. I remember going to see this movie in theaters because I had a mild interest but my best friend REALLY wanted to see it. From the first line that High Jackman sings I was hooked and the movie took me on an emotional roller coaster for which I was not prepared.
Please listen to This is Me. Both the pitch meeting version from Keala Settle who plays the bearded lady and then the movie version. About not being accepted by society yet learning to love yourself in your own skin. Super inspiring. I have come to know your taste( I think) and you will love it. And yes, see the movie

It's a shame that Loren Allred didn't want to be acknowledged that she sang Never Enough in The Greatest Showman until now, five years later she decides to come out and say she sang that song and everyone in that movie especially Rebecca Ferguson said she should, but at that time she decided to stay in the background because she wasn't a well known actress but a very good singer
If you’ve never seen Rebecca Furgeson, you need to check out the movie Girl on the Train. She plays Anna. That’s a fantastic movie. But also watch Greatest Showman. Though it’s not her singing, she did sing it on the day of filming. Decided to do with Loren A for the movie soundtrack.

Hello!! I found your video looking for a clip of this song because I love this song!! Everyone is entitled to their opinions n I'm by no means saying people can't, however I must include mine lol I couldn't help but notice how people are assuming she's stuck up and saying nothing will ever be good enough for her, but having watched this amazing movie and being the romantic sap that I am, I believe she's saying compared to his love, those things will never be enough for her. His love is. She fell for him and is trying to tell him the love she has for him far outweighs everything else and she wants him to share in this moment of love with her and fame and fortune aren't the most important things in life, love and acceptance is, which is pretty much what the premise of the whole movie is about. Family and friendship should be put ahead of everything else. Even his wife hints at this several times. She wants him to be the way he was when they fell in love, their love was put before fortune and popularity, it went to his head and he needed to get his priorities straight and figure out what matters most to him. I think this is a very romantic way of telling someone you love them!! Hopefully you've seen the movie, but there's a scene later on that proves my point. They're on tour and he rejected her advances and she quit because when he looked at her, she felt he only saw dollar signs and she genuinely loved him and I think she only went along with him because she wanted to be with him and was supporting his dream, like his wife so she wasn't there for money, it was for him and she was heartbroken that all he wanted was to get ahead and that's all he seemed to care about. So if anyone was the gold digger in this, is his character!! Lol men can be gold diggers too lol although, I don't he was being that way on purpose. He came from nothing and was treated like crazy as was his father, and he wanted his family to have a better life and didn't want them to see him as a failure, however, things went to his head and he momentarily lost sight of what truly mattered to him. Anyway, amazing movie and great reaction channel!! I've watched others of yours and you do a great job so keep up the good work!!!
