At 62 years of age, you gonna..(that's right, gonna) make me relocate from Ky to Va.just to study at your church....this is more than I've learned in all the Bible studies I been TO.....BLESS YOU
Can someone help me understand. Pastor Wesley mentioned that the Bible doesn't say"hate your enemies".. The below is from the NIV Matthew 5 Love for Enemies 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Where does Jesus say to repent of sin? Well, here it is: Luke 5:32 "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Acts 3:19 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord" Proverbs 28:13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." No wonder there's heresy in the Baptist Church; Many pastors don't believe in a life free of sin which leads to a void relationship with God. John 9:31 says, "Now we know that God doesn't hear sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears" Yes we must repent of our sins to enter into the kingdom of God. Why? Because Jesus says multiple times throughout scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Proverbs 28:13, Luke 15:7, Luke 24:47, Ezekiel 18:21-23, Luke 17:3, Matthew 9:13. I mean I can go on. Repentance is not a work! It's a change of mind. After you change your mind, you turn from your sin and put your faith in Jesus to help you overcome iniquity and forgive you for your transgressions. Jesus says in Luke 18:27, "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God" So if all things are possible with God, don't you believe he can get you out of sin and live a Holy life that is acceptable and pleasing to Him? Wow.. there is complete heresy from the Baptist Church. I want to inform you that most of the Baptist doctrine comes from Calvinism. Is this "Once saved always saved" biblically literate? No. Without obedience you aren't loving Jesus. Jesus says in John 14:15: "If you love me keep my commandments" He also says in John 14:21: "He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me, and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him" Stop reaching for Calvinist doctrine and let the Bible define itself.
Michael Cleveland, Dr. Wesley could have selected any of several other biblical texts to illustrate this series, but Genesis 19 contains the story of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, which is one of the most misapplied texts in Western culture. Continue with this series and you will find that the reason for the destruction is probably not the reason you were taught. Why this particular text for this bible study? Because this text is used to oppress and vilify a large segment of God’s children.
@@v.gaylemiller4824 my understanding of Genesis 19 is not based solely on what I've been taught. I do my own studying as well. Remember that no one's personal interpretation is above scrutiny. e.g. barean church. That includes Pastor Wesley.
We need more bible studies

What did he mean about KJV translation? Where can I find more info on this?
King James Version
Pastor Wesley, wrong verse. That correct verse is Ecclesiastes 9:11, not Ecclesiastes 4.
Is it the point to get to genesis 19?
Why?
