Before the industry started to scout girls from any place or class, many of the earliest models in modern history (20s-30s) were socialites and aristocratic girls with very striking or elegant features. In modern day, I think someone like Lily-Rose Depp has a genuinely unique and striking beauty that plays well in fashion and film; someone like Bella, also from a wealthy and semi-famous family, has a lovely charisma in addition to a striking look, augmented by some very effective plastic surgeries. But the key is that these girls have an interesting-not necessarily "natural" or even beautiful-but at least interesting look in addition to their connections. I resent when we have to celebrate someone with derivative, standard micro-influencer looks and barely C-List celebrity parents, too. The vast majority of people are probably uninteresting, annoying, and not-ugly-but-not-beautiful, but the difference is that the vast majority of people aren't famous models and never will be, because they don't have looks or the personality to resonate with the public. It feels like this girl is being pushed on us by her annoying, social-climbing mom and her parents' professional connections. I really hope this second-rate Gabriette knock-off finds some success and fulfillment outside of the public eye so we can all stop hearing from her or about her.

This is a fun segment. It does make Paris feel less intimidating than it actually is for non-French-speaking Americans. The reality is that Amelia is only getting the time of day from the merchants and "mama" because she is filming with French Vogue and she's a model. 🙄 Pronouncing Stussy incorrectly is criminal. NGL, I did enjoy her street-style outfits when she was on her way to shows. The houndstooth blazer was comically oversized, but the pattern and layering concept was great. Also, NGL, those lips are too distracting for me to pay attention to what she's wearing. It does seem like the show's makeup artists try to minimize the lips (likely with concealer) so they're less distracting. Bless them for that.

I don't get all the hate in the comments, Amelia seems to be very nice and genuine ! And she pronounced a few word in french which means she's trying so I don't think she's rude about the language. The two places we saw her speak english are places she seems to often go to so she already knew she could order in english there, so I'm not offended she immediately spoke english.

Pronouncing Stussy incorrectly is criminal. NGL, I did enjoy her street-style outfits when she was on her way to shows. The houndstooth blazer was comically oversized, but the pattern and layering concept was great. Also, NGL, those lips are too distracting for me to pay attention to what she's wearing. It does seem like the show's makeup artists try to minimize the lips (likely with concealer) so they're less distracting. Bless them for that.
