Still waiting to get mine built. Son in law busy painting the new place. Then all of us move in. Big change. Then we will use the back woodworking area possibly in the back to get painted and or stained and built. I am so anxious. Wish I had it together already. But will wait and do it all at one time finishing and all. Heheh. So happy still about the win. You guys are amazing.
No worries, Robert! Have fun and take your time on it. That's the point of building these kits. It's not about rushing in and having a working guitar. It's also about the journey of building it and having a connection with your instrument that you built yourself. Have fun DIY my friend! 😊
Having built several kits and a couple of full customs, one issue I've run into multiple times (including a GKW kit) is a sloppy neck joint rout on a set neck. This can render a decent build useless when the neck is misaligned with the body and the strings can fall off the neck.
@@GUITARKITWORLD Since I've had two of said result, the answer is to temporarily set the tailpiece and the high and low E strings only tight enough to verify alignment. Then you can shim and set the scale length. Any better ideas?
You use sanding sealer for wood types that have big open pores like mahogany. Sanding sealer is used to close the pores and make the surface smooth. Sanding sealer, sand, prime, then paint or stain.
Very helpful video, I'd like to build one of your les Paul or prs style guitars I hear the quality is very good ,maybe sometime ill try to order one and build it and create a videos of my build on my channel, that be fun ! 🤘
@@GUITARKITWORLD yeah it would make great content, and a great experience too , I know alot about guitars but never built one ,I've repaired plenty tho, ...hmmm maybe I could get a discount on a kit ,what ya think man
number 6 friendly tip about soldering, those switch and pot connection ting hole ,usually put a wire thought the hole for easier to soldering, just dont twist the wire ,there not a moving part, bend the wire like J hook is enough, just dont stick your wire into the hole and twist , just for the future repair guy or yourself ,then some might say cut the wire put new pot ,bob your uncle, true , but if you can, dont cut pickup, because cant change pickup wire , yes you can extend wire,no big deal, those little thing just a good habits for guitar repair or guitar build.
@@GUITARKITWORLD no, the tuning machines, the bolt that screws in from the top side of the head stock was blank and missing threds . I had to go to my local guitar store to get a fresh bolt.

That's true Patrick. A way to fix that is by adding a thing buffer of wood to make the neck pocket tight. Thanks for watching the video!

Good point there! I like that tip! Keep the wires and dont cut 👌
i got a kit once, and one of the tuner bolts didnt have any threds, it was just blank.
Yup! that kit gives you the freedom to style and drill the holes on the headstock. Other kits have a styled headstock though.

Country of origin for these kits please.
All our kits are manufactured from China
