All of this sounds very familiar - and very personally true too. I just give thanks for all the fun and pleasure which creative craft skills give us. Life would be very dull without them

Congratulations to all who worked on this video. As an ex-broadcast engineer, who's worked alongside BAFTA winners, I'd say you got first-class results in photography, sound and editing. All broadcast quality. Your kit might be smaller and easier to carry than it was in my day, (yawn!) but light, sound (and often people!) are still just as challenging. As a Meccano enthusiast, I'm impressed too. Few programme makers have ever taken the time or trouble to explore what makes us tick. Great stuff!

Julius Nyangoro Yes, it was! The filmmakers used a few of Santiago Plicio's fairground models. You can see them all here: www.selmec.org.uk/gallery.aspx?UserID=65d3014c-52ee-4396-8778-1a8450f4db30

Not entirely... Meccano pre-dates Erector, but they are both now owned by Spin Master.

London Meccano Club Yeah ac gilbert was inspired by meccano.......and it seems spin master might bring meccano I little bit closer to its former glory then the french could. Big gears, big sprockets, big flywheels, steam engines(probaly not but a boy can dream right.......) The sad thing is it seems that people over at meccano before (spin maser took over it) didnt understand why lego and lego technic were so popular. Its the same reason old meccano was so popular! But I cant complain about things like the 50th anniversary erector set(its called that here in the usa) I was 6 when I got it loved it and when I was 8 I saw a erector dump truck for sale and I really wanted it...Didnt get though. But im still young at age 11 And I have some time to enjoy my youth as the class nerd(rolleyes) Obsessed with meccano and ac gilbert erector. Im just waiting for the meccanoids and the new lego technic mercedes benz actros!

Yes, I think Spin Master might - the new range of models shown at SkegEx this year are very nice. You might like to see my friend Ralph Laughton's talk on the subject here: th-cam.com/video/ezjmYQeYr6A/w-d-xo.html
