It's not that they don't know. It's that they are lying to get this guy in trouble. I pity whoever has to be a client of a "public defender" that does not defend the public on the most trivial of matters.
PD's don't defend anyone, they just interface with the judge and prosecutor to keep the person being REAMED by the county or state calm, and make sure that they don't end up doing life in prison for some random minor misdemeanor. Other than that, they are completely useless. The crap you see on TV dramas with stressed out hard-working PD's fighting for people is pure fantasy. Those fantasy's are based off of Civil Rights attorneys not actual PD's. And the only reason they could claim to be stressed out or overworked is because they generally are overworked dealing with hundreds of cases at one time which circles back to them being useless because they have zero time for one person and don't care either because they all hang out and drink/party with the prosecutors and DA"s and judges after work. See "Collusion"
Mimi has provided evidence that she does not understand 1st and 4th Amendment Rights, that's grounds for appeal (ineffective counsel) for all her convicted clients. Mimi Brill, “This is not a public building”, at the public defender’s office. You just can’t make this up, lol. Guilty of 1983, again…”I’m happy to have him escorted away”, wow.
That can also be proven if you need a lawyer & have to rely on a public defender because you can't afford a lawyer. In my experience they'll just offer you plea deals, like a prosecutor, instead of even trying to represent you properly. I had one once & I could have been easily proven innocent if they'd just get sales records from a local store, but they flat out refused to do that - even said they can't do that - when I know that's BS...because I've seen them use sales records from a store to convict someone because sales records proved they were in the area & bought a certain item. In my case, I was accused of buying cigarettes for a minor. But I didn't. I had never even heard of the brand of cigarettes they accused me of buying! So I said if you get the sales records from the 15 minute time frame they said it happened, it would prove I didn't buy those, & most likely no one at all bought that brand of cigarettes durian that time frame. But, nope...they wouldn't do it. But I've seen them use sales records to convict someone else of vandalism because they bought spray paint at a local hardware store that they used to vandalize a building with. If all that makes sense, lol

The police and dispatcher know the law better than the attorneys and staff. The regional public defender director should be made aware of what happened here. Let this office know that what they did was illegal and the public should have been allowed access. The locked door is more for security reasons and not due to covid. Based on this interaction, they probably have a lot of disgruntled clients due to ineffective assistance of counsel claims, and that is why they have the locked door. They need to replace these staffers with people who understand the most basic constitutional rights. The supervisor should be reported to state bar counsel.

This demonstrates how the attorneys feel about the 1st amendment!! This dept is a total disgrace! They are meant to support the public not fight against them.
All attorneys are corrupt to the core, when they pass the BAR (British accredited registry) they take a pledge to Crown Temple in London, so they are actually serving as foreign agents working on American soil. The whole system is rotten from judges all the way down.
They don't support anybody. They just make it easier for the Prosecutor to shuffle people off to jail or fine them. I've worked in courthouse's, they all hang out and drink and party together and collude on cases. They're all paid by the same place, they all work together to make their lives easier for themselves and don't give two shits about anything other than whining about their caseload because municipalities give very little funding to their office because nobody really wants to support the people that need to be defended so why spend money on the department. Which just leads to them skating through their job duties agreeing to whatever the prosecutor or DA wants to do. Not all public defenders are like this. That said, I'd agree that you'd get bottom barrel representation and not zealous advocacy with this particular group. I liked that cop. Just trying to do his best in an unusual situation for him.
They literally are deal negotiators that treat you like the prosecutor and assume you are guilty, and usually have little interest in going to trial to defend you against whatever evidence the prosecution claims to have. This would also be some interesting FOIA requests information to have. For example how many dismissals and how many plea agreements of no contest and guilty pleas. This might be what they're afraid you'll uncover in your journalistic endeavors.

No wonder they only qualified as a public defender vs a real attorney
You miss spelt 'Public Defender'
The Public Pretenders
It's not that they don't know. It's that they are lying to get this guy in trouble. I pity whoever has to be a client of a "public defender" that does not defend the public on the most trivial of matters.
They seem proud of just how incompetent they are.
Mimi does not know enough law to defend anyone...fire her!
Her convicted clients should take this video (proof of incompetence) to another lawyer (Public Defender) and demand an appeal based on ineffective counsel.
@@Justmakingobservations So true! How can she defend anyone adequately if she doesn’t even know the laws of our land or rights! Any case she lost during her career should be retried or vacated!

I think Mr. Too stressed out needs a mental health councilor and maybe a prescription to help his stress levels or a new profession
Public Pretenders government employees are only required to have a pulse to be hired. A functional brain that understands the law is optional.
They know the law they just didn't want him there and figured the cops would get rid of him for them.
Why would you need to know the law when your job is to make all your clients plead guilty.
That’s why they’re known as public pretenders.
Mimi Brill, “This is not a public building”, at the public defender’s office. You just can’t make this up, lol. Guilty of 1983, again…”I’m happy to have him escorted away”, wow.
You're the only auditor I've ever seen with the BALLS to go to a public defender's office. Well done!
But what happened?
This is proof the public defenders don’t defend the public
They do what is in the best interest of their employer, it’s a business, they are real estate agents, they sell jail cells by the square foot.
@@jesusgavemeaids It makes perfect sense, they depend on the average person not being intelligent enough to think of those things.

The supervisor should be reported to state bar counsel.

it is totally unacceptable that these public servants especially a public defender do not know our 1st A rights to video in OUR public buildings and to video them during the course of their duties the disdain for the people they are hired by and for is disgusting

Public defenders do NOT work for the general public... they work for a small subset of the general public. Because of that, they are only legally required to serve indigent people charged with a crime that carries a punishment of imprisonment (poor people who recieve traffic citations that have no possibility of jail time, are not entitled to Public defenders)...
The general public is NOT entitled to services in the same way they are entitled to services from the water department or the health department. Yes, It's a public building but they are NOT required to have a publicly accessible office because they don't serve the general public. They have a right to make the whole office a restricted area, and restrict access to only the small subset of the public they are required to serve.... he's not entitled to any public information (pamphlets) unless he's qualified to receive services from the public defenders office.
Audit the Audit and Lack Luster both made videos that provided a great explanation of this issue. NH Now is actually incorrect... this building is RESTRICTED to only the people entitled to receive services (poor people charged with a crime).
public defenders offices are a rare exception to the rule, because even though they receive tax dollars they do NOT serve the general public, go watch audit the audits video.
@@thetruepatriot7733 The public information that would be available for access is covered under the three aspects of Time, Place, and Manner. Time is when the functioning department is operating during "business" hours. Place is covered by when the public is legally allowed to be there. Even if those who would usually be there, which would be clients, where would others be able to be and wait for their PD to address them? There would have to be an area like a waiting room. This would fall under the category of a public lobby. Even if I was under a criminal charge, I'd be able to access the building to gather the information required to determine if I needed a PD or not. I wouldn't HAVE to be a current client to do so. Manner would be the legal activities afforded by the Constitution's 1st Amendment of Freedom Of The Press, and can NOT be abridged. Even Jails/prisons, which are HIGHLY restricted are required to have a public areas that can be accessed by the public and the press.
This was a good video. You have to do a follow up. I did email Mimi and her office and let them know how horrible they acted on camera.
This officer needs a raise. He was so stuck , and tried to help.
He seemed conscientious but also overmatched.
This is priceless. These public defenders are pathetic. As usual Press NH Now exposing clowns
Yet they expect juries to find them credible.
Imagine an office full of alleged attorneys and not one of them knows the trespass law, what an utter embarrassment for that whole office, they should be ashamed of their selves I learned this in high school and I’m not even an attorney
That B is revolting ... I hope she gets fired ASAP
Mimi definitely sits in the passing lane while not passing anyone , and speeds up when you try and pass on the right. What a sad group in that establishment.
That is me. Just because someone is behind you doesnt mean they want to pass you. So if i was doing 80 mph in a 65mph zone, does that me i need to get in the slow lane because you want to go 85mph? Then, when you are doing 85mph and someone is behind you, do you pull into the slow lane so the car behind you can do 90mph? This is all BS. Just stop trying to skip in front like you probably did in high school and stay with the flow of traffic.
It's pretty dayum scary the number of people the have "defended" don't know your CONSTITUTIONAL Rights, so how are they DEFENDING PEOPLE? How many have been convicted of something because they FAILED TO ADDRESS POSSIBLE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.... they probably sat back and let the Prosecuting Atty WIN.

THIS is why you never use a public defender unless you have to. these are bottom of the barrel lawyers.
It depends on the state. It can be drastically different. For example, NH has some really good public defenders.

Grow up Jerry Bushman. You know as well as anyone else the building has restricted access and so by the very concept is not publicly accessible.
The atty generals office told me they should get their info together and make an appointment with the attorney generals office and show them the information you have. But I can’t get the email addresses of these guys to tell them They can get these people straightened out some how. It says it’s a public defenders building.
@@interestedobserver587 it SAYS PUBLIC DEFENDERS OFFICE. He can go to the attorney generals of the state of Vermont and address this. These people are refusing to do their jobs.
Great video!
My heart goes out to the officer.
He’s a GOOD COP :)
I appreciate them.
However supporting you, is my number one priority.
The public defenders are a joke bro. Omg
I watch everyone’s audit videos and you are 1 of my top 3! You, Long Island Audit, and Bay Area Transparency. I appreciate all your hard work, and your ability to call things are they are. I liked how you told that libtard, that she was putting the cop in an uncomfortable position, most guys wouldn’t recognize that. Great Cop but he still didn’t push their buttons enough.
100% Same top 3!!!!!
Like not even a year ago PNHN had 10 or 12k subs, I immediately sub’s and told Mark he’ll have 100k before 2022 is out and told him $100 PayPal’d to him, more than what I’ve been helping him out with few times ! Had faith in the guy with a technique that suited him and served him well, in fact like the others you mentioned, they’re good in “their way” of doing things, in their comfort levels !
Same top three here too.
“I’m not gonna have a masked man coming in here.”
How much you wanna bet that if you didn’t have a mask they’d say you can’t come in without a mask.
I can't believe lawyers just advised a cop to violate someone's rights...That lawyer should be brought up on charges....Putting the cop in that position is HORRIBLE!!!! What eventually happened here, Mark? Were you able to follow up with anyone? Those public defenders scare the hell outta me. No wonder our jails are overcrowded with people...With public defenders like this, I'm surprised anyone is ever found innocent
*Call the attorney general of Vermont and report them. The attorney general is in charge of this office.*
I love when the cops drive right by going to a real emergency
It was very refreshing to hear them admit in 911 call #2, that "we know nothing."
At 26:45 she told the officer to "go ahead" when you said something about her wanting the officer to violate your rights. Thanks soooooo much for exposing this type of behaviour!

"He has a mask"
I love that they want to enforce something and then report people for it
A few months ago, you'd be singled out for NOT wearing a mask.
Cake and eat it, springs to mind...........
Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication!💜💜💜
How are they considered and acknowledged as lawyers?
murikah. Don't have to have more than 2 braincells to get go'mental job position there.
They passed the BAR Exam
She is the reason that everyone goes to Jail. She knows nothing 😂
I cannot believe what I just watched those lawyers are an embarrassment to their profession
I also want to commend the dispatcher for the knowledge expressed regarding the right to record in a public space. The Officer was also very reasonable and made his best attempt to mediate. The Public Defenders were uninformed in the laws. The fact that they perceive the office as private is a travesty to what it actually is. Citizens are paying tax dollars to fund this facility! I am just astounded what they don’t know as legal professionals in the basics.
This is not a public forum, this would be considered a DESIGNATED public forum. So, NH was likely not right in this situation
They do know as they know they have a right to lock the door. They also pay taxes
