Just lost Dad last Thursday. He loved Stephen Stills and was the best pilot I’ll ever know. I sent this video to him a few months back and we loved it. I’ve been watching it since he passed and it’s been a comfort. Thank you for making this. Flying was his favorite thing to do in life. RIP Dad, love you forever.❤️ ✈️
Sorry for your loss. I am lucky to still have my dad, he’s 66, a born survivor, and I’ll be 45 soon. I’m gonna send this to my dad, he loves all kinds of flight 😉. I’m lucky for every iteration of CSNY, Grateful Dead, NRPS, etc etc, my dad’s gave me all his vynil as he reckons cds are the future lol. Peace all ☮️☮️
Just sitting in my garage having a cigar and my lab sleeping next to me. This brings me back to my growing up in the 80’s. Just feeling good and listening to good music. Bless you all.
It's amazing to me to learn he actually has a hearing problem from age nine. He is a genius. We are so very blessed to have heard his music in our lifetimes!!❤😊

Stills in my top five all time, and I am 68. I just love this!! Creativity in song with the anchor in reality. Really hits home for us post Vietnam folks.
For those that don't know the real history of the Treetop Flyers they would fly over the jungle low and shoot out cannons to mark places for the Air Force to napalm or bomb sectors. They were some major players in Vietnam. They drew fire from the jungle and knew if they went down a good chance they'd either die or be a POW. People that's a bad @ss if ever there was one. Much respect to all our veterans that were either in wars or dragged into them by the lying ass government. Salute to you all for your service.

These guys were from the observer corps. Several hundred were lost in SE Asia. Very dangerous work. Too low to parachute and even if you survived the crash you’d better be behind American lines as, pretty much, Charlie didn’t take prisoners.

It’s the story of a Vietnam vet who came home from the war with a marketable new skill: the ability to fly under the radar. When these pilots returned from combat to a public that often shunned them, and wouldn’t give them a job or help them deal with what they’d been through, they found a way to make money with this skill in running drugs, guns, and whatever other contraband someone would pay them to deliver.
Yes. So true is the point of this song. What good came from the Vietnam War?? That was to get good pot across the country! Fly On!! Tom Petty knows what Stephen was talking about!!
Sorry for your loss, man. There's something very freeing about flying. When I strapped into that little red biplane, things felt different. Ripping through that river valley was some of the best fun I've had. Cheers to Tony!
Guys, this song is about Barry Seals from Baton Rouge, LA. He was a smuggler for Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Drug Cartel during the 1980s. Barry was a pilot's pilot, a born stick and rudder man. He consistently flew under the radar to avoid detection from the law. Eventually he found religion and turned evidence over to the FBI regarding the Cartel, but it was too late. Our government failed to protect him and he was shot in Baton Rouge by two Escobar henchmen. A film loosely based on his life starring Tom Cruise as Seals was produced roughly five years ago. Seals is still considered somewhat of a folk hero in parts of Colombia.
