Honestly they should just cast Colin Farrell in movies where he can use his real accent because he's brilliant in all of them. Speaking of which, I've just found out that he and Brendan Gleeson have teamed up with 'In Bruges' writer/director Martin Mcdonagh for 'The Banshees of Inisherin' and now I'm suddenly very interested in watching that film whatever it may be about.

Feels illegal to be this early! This is my favourite Guy Ritchie movie, his style feels really polished and clean here and, as always, he got himself a stellar cast! Hugh Grant blew me away as the complete opposite of his usual roles, he pulls off a smarmy scumbag so well and him and Charlie Hunnam are the perfect two to carry the narrative of the film forward! This film is fucking great
Edit: the rapper in the movie is Bugzy Malone! A prominent grime artist over here!

    • @theblackswordsman9951
      @theblackswordsman9951 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

That's why i still consider Snatch his best. While this movie has a lot, it feels too clean and orchestrated as opposed to Snatch which feels more naturally chaotic which i feel works better with his style. I also feel like the pacing of Snatch ebs and flows as opposed to this which is almost constantly fast paced. I also feel it goes on a bit too long. Do we really need the russian gangstars at the end on top of all the other stuff going on? It also feels like Hugh Grant is hamming it up a bit and Charlie Hunnam is playing the same character he always plays (not that that's a bad thing, he fits. Jason Statham is the same, they're just not stand out performances as opposed to Brad Pitt in Snatch).

    • @hellfish2309

“Wrath of Man” is interesting: he gets kinda meta and goes over the top Guy Ritchie in the early act(s) in maaaaaybe self parody; but once we reach a certain reveal it’s much more serious while still clearly Guy Ritchie… almost all of the usual whimsy is abandoned in favor of tense grit

I love when Matthew is trying to explain how much the company is devalued at the end. He's going on and on, trying to make that number as big as possible (to get the lowest price), but Michael knows he is going to be paid that amount in full, so he goes along with it, hoping that number gets as big as it can. Brilliant!

Knew you’d love this one! It takes a certain kind of viewer to appreciate such a script. Casuals can sort of surrender too early because they are fed a lot upfront and out of context. But I love it-you are given an alternating pattern of new information and the context for much earlier or much later scene(s) in such a tight and unorthodox web.
In the theater, it felt like a return to form for Ritchie and by the end I truly felt like it was one of the most fun scripts I had seen in years.

Seeing you watch this and having Charlie Hunnam in it makes me want to suggest Sons of Anarchy as a series to watch sometime. Would love to see you run through it.

God I loved this one. Hugh Grant on pitch perfect form!

Agree. The performances from all the cast were great, but Hugh Grant really stole the show for me, he was brilliant! He's come a long long way from his early romcom typecasting days.

Great flick, and it just gets better and better the more I see it. Perfect cast but esp love Colin Farrell in this.I hope he sticks to supporting roles for awhile bc he knocked it out of the park. Loved him here!

Thank you, loved your reaction to this. IMHO Hugh Grant's best role to date, everyone else, also amazing. McConaughey is an enigma, he did those no brain rom-coms but then pulls out performances like Dallas Buyers Club, The Lincoln Lawyer, this film etc...love his work.
Also Wardrobe deserve an Oscar - I've suggested to my tailer that he takes a look at this film.

Return to form for Guy Ritchie 👌🏻 it can't top Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels but this was really entertaining 😁

I recommend watching RDJ's Sherlock Holmes movies. They're also directed by Guy Ritchie and they're quite underrated.

30:30 The poster in the background is another Guy Ritchie film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. That be a good one to react to if you haven't done so already. Great reaction video though. Keep up the good work.

Great, great, GREAT movie. This was one of the last films I got to see in a theater before they all shut down last year. It's a shame that it didn't get more attention, I feel like if Guy Ritche had made it earlier in his career (before Sherlock Holmes) it would've gotten a lot more respect. Instead it came out a couple of flops and that stupid Aladdin remake, so people probably felt he was falling back on a genre he'd already mastered and a style they'd already seen from him. I admit I was a bit dismissive myself when I saw the trailer...but now I think it's his best film yet! Very pleased to see how much you enjoyed it, Brandon.

He directed Aladdin? Wow I didn’t know that, I feel sad for him. At least he tried to do something different.

It actually made 115m on a 22m dollar budget, that’s actually a really solid return, movie was super successful. I wish it was even bigger but it actually did well for itself, I honestly wanna see some sort is sequel with the main players, was easily successful enough to warrant a sequel if Ritchie wanted one.

@@docsnake why would you feel sad for him, that movie made a billion dollars and probably allowed him to do more smaller movies like this one.

@@puppetmaster8551 That's great to know that it did so well financially. I just don't see people talking or writing about it much.
