New to your page and I ordered my first happy planner from Amazon. Can't wait to start all my decorating. But I feel I will need more than one planner.
Yay! Mine made the cut - you are going to really enjoy the meal swapping. It has lead to the discovery of some of my favorite meals that I have been making for years now. Best of luck. girl. You got this!!
I love all the background noises. With ADD it helps ‘the tips stick’ because I hear the train. Weird. I know. And I think I heard a garage door. 😂 I always love your videos! ♥️
Quick easy dinner for the end of summer: slow cook boneless beef ribs in the crockpot in a little broth with bay leaves and a quartered onion on low all day. An hour before serving, add your fave barbecue sauce. Cook corn on the cob on the stove and add a 1/2 stick of butter to the water. The corn absorbs it and the salt sticks better (and and you’ll want to spread more butter on it if you love butter). You could sub olive oil if you’re eating healthy. Add a prepackaged salad with your fave dressing, some watermelon slices, and enjoy. You could also make a pot of baked beans if you want extra in your meal. I love this meal because it’s yummy and doesn’t take a lot of time. The ribs fall apart so you could serve them as a sandwich if you prefer. Or they make great sandwiches the next day.
The copycat recipes tip could also be a fun date night with you and Matthew. Find a recipe and cook it together in the kitchen at home and then do like you said and make it a challenge to taste test. You could even come up with a fun “rating system” to compare it with the real thing. Categories like flavor, texture, portion size...etc. do the whole restaurant experience and start with appetizers, salads, entree, and dessert!
Heather, Great Meal Plannin Tips Page! I was laughing and saying to the screenlike u can hear me - haha , “uh Heather....I dont think ‘planniNG is goin’ to fit there” lol ...but i totally love how you just rolled on with it ! 😂👍🏻🌟😬
i don't like to meal plan either, i just make sure i have all the basics on hand and then i wing it each day. probably not the best way to do it, but it works for me. i only cook a few days a week and do the extra portions so i can have leftovers, and my grill is my best friend :)
I missed the video to leave tips, so I'm a bit late. I used to cook once each month and put it in the freezer. When schedules were crazy everyone could eat what they wanted, when they wanted. Buying produce already cut up does save time, but not money.
I would caution you from buying precut produce - they tend to pull the items that are going off and use them for those packages. I recommend you buy regular produce and have a chopping party with your hubs! These are great suggestions! I Instacart my groceries now and absolutely love it!! It has eliminated impulse buying completely. If you are interested in trying it out and saving $10, let me know and I will share my link with you.
Favorite easy recipe: 3 lbs boneless chicken breasts 1 bottle bbq sauce 1 can pineapple tidbits Empty in crock pot and cook on high 4 hours or low 6-7 hours. Delicious!
Love theses tips! I find the hardest part of meal planning seems to be that it keeps changing on me as the week goes on. ...Lucky I laminated my sheet and use non-permanent markers🙂
oh!... DO IT ON A DIME and CLUTTERBUG are also on my fav channels list...both have a few fab videos on making meal planning easiER....good luck! Maybe keep us posted, with new videos abt your meal planning journey ... cos Im in the same boat ... meal plannin’ --the struggle is rrrreal lol
Buying precut produce is nice BUT youre spending more money that way. I like to save the money and spend some extra time chopping it all up at once and freezing it if need be. It really doesnt take much time chopping up & washing veggies. Love this page idea! TFS
It is more expensive to buy already cut veggies so what I do is I cut everything one times a week and then I can use it all week without having to cut again.
I love grocery pick up, it is super helpful! Also, checkout the Food Network website and their "Almost Famous" recipes-they are all restaurant copycats. The Ikea swedish meatballs, red lobster cheddar bay biscuits, olive garden breadsticks, etc have all been super super good!
Precut produce destroys alot of the nutrients. . .when my DH was alive, one method i used for meals was not to plan ahead at all, as its not always easy to match the planned meal with what the store has to offer each week .. we would go thru the store picking out good deals on stuff we like to eat. In trying to make sure my elderly & sickly husband had an all around good diet, i designated each day of the week to a different meat - mondays were beef days, tues were pork, wed's were chicken, thu's were beef or pork, fri's were fish, saturdays were free days we either went out for pizza or had breakfast for supper or whatever and ALWAYS fried chicken on sundays! I didnt plan ahead for any one particular version of each meat, i would simply check the freezer to see what we had on hand that was beef .. or chicken .. or whatever for that day. Say its chicken night, one day i'd fix boiled chicken, next chicken day fried chicken legs and so on. And since certain veggies & breads go better with certain meats that made making the meals even easier. He loved the variety of food and this method made it sooooo much easier to plan our food intake... he wasnt big on leftovers or cooked ahead food or soups .. but i have a fantastic chicken & rice recipe i call MAGIC CHICKEN SOUP that he only let me make when he was sick, and it would start perking him up instantly (thats why i dubbed it MAGIC Chicken Soup). We also saved a ton of money by not cooking recipes very often. We ate 'simple'. . Instead of making apple pie we just ate the apples; instead of scalloped potatoes we ate potatoes boiled, baked, or fried. Our go-to seasonings for EVERYthing was margerine, onions, onion powder, garlic powder, s/p. Hope some of this helps those of you who are struggling with 'meal plannin'. 😉
"Meal Plannin"! Love how you rolled with it!

I got the same food sticker book. I also am trying to get better at meal planning.
Amazing

I hate left overs too! Except for beef stew, fried mashed potato's, and pigs in the blanket.

One trick to add to your list. Have one meal quick to do with all you need to do it, In case of emergencies, you just do that one.

Ordering groceries online is helpful to stay on budget and so nice when you don't feel good
Put an apostrophe after the last N to make it look intentional. Meal Plannin’

Using HELLO FRESH meals has helped me!

I don't eat leftovers either!
