Well, I’m not gonna lie, I totally relate! It’s because we’ve been taught French as a “subject” but not as a “language”.. I’m still glad I have some background of the language at least though!
Im impressed at 10 mins in we can all learn anything. We just make our governments more money when we are stupid. France Godspeed with your revolutions.
There are a few factors in teaching yourself to understand French . A place I found which successfully combines these is the Mirykal French Plan (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most helpful resource i've seen. Check out all the extraordinary information .

My main language is french but I am still better in english cuz in french : 87% english : 97% so I can read english but dont try to speak to me it is going to be like: You: hi, what's your name Me: WHO ARE YOU ! You: I am (name) you? Me:....hallo, my name is Alicia and so maybe you can go OUT OF HERE. you: hmmm we are on the street. Me: what? You: we are on the street. Me: a little bit slowly You: we-are-on-the-street. Me: okay and? You: the street isn't your propriety Me: wha- You: the-street-is-not-your-propriety! Me: oh I forgot You do you speak french? Me: yes my english is bad huh? You: yes!

Pauline, I agree with you. Great chance to be productive and learn French. I am an Indian and I know Hindi, English and Russian. Now I started learning French remotely starting from zero. Thanks!
I moved to a fairly French community in 2018 in Northern Ontario but have been too lazy to learn French. I also find trying to learn a language in my 40s is a lot harder then it was in elementary school. But it’s definitely something I want to do while I wait to get called back to work in the public service.
No need for a class. This lesson is amazing. I speak intermediate french and I can say that this lesson is all you need to start. The only thing that you will miss is people interaction which could be in a class but if you live in a French speaking country then go down to the street and speak in French, make mistakes and learn. You will speak in no time. Also let the information sink in your head. The more time passes, the better you will understand the language. Don't get demotivated if in the first month(s) you are not understanding or able to express yourself.
Dude thats my french classes for the last goddamn 4 years our teachers never learned french to begin with and now im in class 12 and I'll have to write my Abi next year and I can't do sh*t..... hopefully I can get better relying on this
Dude, same (sorta). I know more French now than 1 and a half years of Spanish in school. Two different languages but you can obviously tell the difference between learning with Vincent and learning with teachers at school.
Jes is fab c: definitely. I took 3 years of Spanish and can barely speak any now. I’ve leaned more in 35 min then I did the first year in Spanish class. Different languages but you get the idea
Wow! How kind and how generous that you devote such volumes of high quality French class for free~ I wouldn’t be able to imagine how much effort and time you put on this~ and Im going to follow your class x times to make your effort worth :) Thanks a million~ Merci beaucoup

I think that’s the title in part. The content is amazing but the title is misleading and it is ridiculous to try to portray that you could speak a language in 5 days. It should have been something like -All they key aspects of learning the French language in 5 lessons
Tass Александр also there are not links to the portions in the notes which makes it hard to jump and worse it doesn’t have a 30 secs skip ahead/back button.

I seriously can't believe how in dept these videos are. When it says learn in 5 days, I thought this video was the whole 5 days ! I'm up to the days of the week and it's taken me well over 5 hours to get to this point. I'm really taking my time and repeating it over and over so it can really stick in my head. I also bought a notebook to take notes and study them. Oh man this is gonna take a while ! But I'm determined
LEARN FRENCH WITH VINCENT i a question. Is French the same as Haitian Creole because my boyfriend is Haitian and I'm tired of not being able to understand him lol. Hence why I'm trying to learn
Of course brah! French is a beautiful language with plenty of good music, literature, etc.... Maybe you'll need it one day, maybe not, but it's fun to study it either way.
Just a couple questions I wanna ask 1. Have you finished his course? 2. If so, do you believe in your ability to speak French fluently. I will be patiently awaiting your response thank you ☺️
Me: I’m bilingual (English and Spanish), I bet French would be easy for me Instructor: “for American people it can be tricky at the beginning (...) Spanish speaking persons can have some difficulties as well” Me: well then....
Haha Romance languages are similar but have essentially the same alphabet. When you get to Russian and Mandarin...hold on to your hat! Seriously though, just practice y todo bien!
Vincent if I had you as my french teacher in high school I'd be more fluent in french than my native language. Having left high school some 37 years ago. I am so excited to have found your channel. Hoping to visit my friend in Quebec after covid has subsided this is an awesome resource to get me back in shape. A million thanks.
I started learning French at about the same time, these videos were published. today, as I'm fluent in French, I always think about it, and I'm so thankful this channel exists. This channel helped me go from A1 to B1-B2 level of French in like 2-3 months. Thank you Vincent !

So glad I found these videos! I tend to learn better when it’s like a “school” rather than “everyday” phrases so it’s giving me a great foundation to learn. Thanks!
I am taking a French course for three weeks. However, 1 hour of this video taught me much more than a 3-week course. I love how you explain thins slowly and highlight important parts. The way you teach makes French easier (and English is not even my mother language but still I do not have a hard time understanding you) It is perfect! Merci!
Damla I'm french and it's a pleasure to see people want to learn the french , you need to have regularity because french it's really complicated but if you work maybe one year you can have a really good level so good luck (sorry for my english ) Bonne chance ! (good luck)
I'm 2.5 hours in and I'm TRULY learning the language. Constructing sentences and all. Haven't taken French since the 5th grade! Granted, this is quite similar to its related Romance language, Spanish, so it's not as difficult. Mercí! ☺
Start reading as soon as possible. I would even go as far as to start reading japanese manga translated in french since you can tell what is going on from the images. Obviously dont only read but reading is the best way to learn vocabulary. You have to know the words: and, this, that, is, etc so you can tell what words are actions or nouns but you dont have to know all of them. They are the most common words so you will subconciously notice that they are in every single sentence that you read anyways. Once you know those words you will be able to guess based on context what is being said. The: le/la This: ce/cette That: ce/cette To: à And: et Is: est Or: ou Him: lui Her: elle Me: moi Them: eux google translate says this one is "leur" but it means "theirs". I: je, j' Am: suis usually ~J'~ and ~suis~ are combined to make ~j'suis~ which literally translates to I'm. Download the app called Anki and make flash cards with these words on them. Words that end with é and er are said the same. Dont worry about those when starting to read, tbh I didnt learn the difference until I was in 6th grade. Dont worry too much about the verb conjugations they are a waste of time to learn at the start, there are just too many exceptions. You will notice patterns.
@Black WH do you learn Hitler language ? I wanna have a semester in Hitler's country, but the people there require me to speak Hitler language. The problem is Hitler's successors speak too fast.

thank you for this...this is a lot easier for me because you explain it in english too..in my school nobody or no one explain it in english so i have no idea and very difficult to understand so...thank you a million....

Yep... you will make it... have some breaks when you feel that you are not fully concentrated. Take the time to read your notes and make lists of vocabulary, use a dictionary and check when I don't translate everything. Try to rewrite my senteces and start to build your own too. You will make it... no worries about that!

I don't think French is that hard, you have to be patient and hard-working but nothing in your life you will achieve an easy way anyway. When an almost 5 hour video teaches you French better in it's first 30 minutes than 7 years of school
ITS....
Well, I’m not gonna lie, I totally relate! It’s because we’ve been taught French as a “subject” but not as a “language”..
I’m still glad I have some background of the language at least though!
Cuz fuck school
Im impressed at 10 mins in we can all learn anything. We just make our governments more money when we are stupid.
France Godspeed with your revolutions.
Well, he did promise to teach you the language in five days... School never said that.
I cant believe how much effort was put into this video. It's great

Sonu Shaddy English is so easy to us Americans but when we think about it more English is pretty hard because all the rules it has.
My main language is french but I am still better in english cuz in french : 87% english : 97% so I can read english but dont try to speak to me it is going to be like:
You: hi, what's your name
Me: WHO ARE YOU !
You: I am (name) you?
Me:....hallo, my name is Alicia and so maybe you can go OUT OF HERE.
you: hmmm we are on the street.
Me: what?
You: we are on the street.

Me: wha-
You: the-street-is-not-your-propriety!

You do you speak french?
Me: yes my english is bad huh?
You: yes!
I spent 3 months quarantined in France and just extended my visa for another 3....time to learn some French

Pauline Macapagal this is sooooo me rn now that I have the time again 💯😁👍🏽
Pauline, I agree with you. Great chance to be productive and learn French. I am an Indian and I know Hindi, English and Russian. Now I started learning French remotely starting from zero. Thanks!
I moved to a fairly French community in 2018 in Northern Ontario but have been too lazy to learn French. I also find trying to learn a language in my 40s is a lot harder then it was in elementary school. But it’s definitely something I want to do while I wait to get called back to work in the public service.
Yes! Nowadays one can learn online! 😃
Don't get demotivated if in the first month(s) you are not understanding or able to express yourself.
kiko thanks I needed this today :)
Lovely. I really like ur comment. GG
Kiko C...I honestly think you should start your own français class

Dude, same (sorta). I know more French now than 1 and a half years of Spanish in school. Two different languages but you can obviously tell the difference between learning with Vincent and learning with teachers at school.

I'd say better that Eng is similar to French. I know that the meaning is quite the same but it is to underline that Eng is just a derived language.
Spoken well, French is beautiful. I love it. But if someone doesn't speak it well and/or butchers it .. ugh it's awful.. like that goof Fabio.. who says, "Bonj or" with the hard J sound as opposed to the soft pretty zsh sound.

My Grandma is making me learn French but I don’t really have a problem with that, French is a beautiful language.
Same girl
Anyone else her just to be able to talk in French for fun?
Of course brah! French is a beautiful language with plenty of good music, literature, etc.... Maybe you'll need it one day, maybe not, but it's fun to study it either way.
Oui oui je parle bon croissant et j'adore la baquette
bonjour
I'm doing it for real because when I'm 22 I'm off to live in paris
Just a couple questions I wanna ask
1. Have you finished his course?
2. If so, do you believe in your ability to speak French fluently.
I will be patiently awaiting your response thank you ☺️
Me: I’m bilingual (English and Spanish), I bet French would be easy for me
Instructor: “for American people it can be tricky at the beginning (...) Spanish speaking persons can have some difficulties as well”
Me: well then....
aale10 lmao me too! I I was like oh ok😭
M C because they’re both languages Latin based you dope, we’re just hoping it’ll make it just a bit easier. 🤦🏽♀️
Haha Romance languages are similar but have essentially the same alphabet. When you get to Russian and Mandarin...hold on to your hat! Seriously though, just practice y todo bien!
aale10 lmao
Germans, too. French is tough, but worth it.
This is one of the best, if not the best, comprehensive videos on the French language I've ever seen..I'm living in France for 18 years
Vincent if I had you as my french teacher in high school I'd be more fluent in french than my native language.
Happy to read that ☺️
wow im an absolute beginner who started yesterday, I hope to reach b1 in 6 months or so

So nice! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for making it easier. You made it more clear. 😃😃
How do you spell the way the letter Y is pronounced, I'm trying to write everything down in my notebook (how to pronounce certain things as well, like how a dictionary does) and that letter is beyond me. Eigerec? Eigerheck? Ygerek? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
The way you teach makes French easier (and English is not even my mother language but still I do not have a hard time understanding you)
It is perfect!
Merci!
Damla I'm french and it's a pleasure to see people want to learn the french , you need to have regularity because french it's really complicated but if you work maybe one year you can have a really good level so good luck (sorry for my english )

I'm 2.5 hours in and I'm TRULY learning the language. Constructing sentences and all. Haven't taken French since the 5th grade!
Granted, this is quite similar to its related Romance language, Spanish, so it's not as difficult.
Mercí! ☺
Ms. Jai try duolingo... super effective
The: le/la
This: ce/cette
That: ce/cette
To: à
And: et
Is: est
Or: ou
Him: lui
Her: elle
Me: moi
Them: eux google translate says this one is "leur" but it means "theirs".
I: je, j'
Am: suis
usually ~J'~ and ~suis~ are combined to make ~j'suis~ which literally translates to I'm.
Full Metal Alchemist would likely do really well in French!
❤️
I am eight years old and this is really helpful thank you Vincent.

Yep... you will make it... have some breaks when you feel that you are not fully concentrated. Take the time to read your notes and make lists of vocabulary, use a dictionary and check when I don't translate everything. Try to rewrite my senteces and start to build your own too.
