  • I slowly go insane while talking about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
A deep dive into Mad Max, Furious Furiosa and Demented Chris Hemsworth,
The puns just write themselves with this one.

The reason of the film existing is pretty much people liked Fury Road and Miller had a lot of backstory written so he assumed it would be interesting to show them.
But I do like Furiosa movie as it feels like better hold and built world and story as Fury Road. It's also trying to say something about vengeance and what violence creates in human mind. Its a spectacular dark drama story.
I get people love Fury Road for its fun and adrenalin but in the end, Fury Road is just pure action, more an exercise of doing the fastest relentless action movie.
Furiosa movie actually tries to tell a whole story and tries to tell it right, violence is grim and dark because if it was fun, it wouldn't make sense to see Furiosa mind getting shattered over and over again. Despite her strength, the story is about her actually getting broken by this world whereas Fury Road was about how broken the world is.
As Furiosa movie is getting in more complex subjects, it can't be done as Fury Road where everything was simple but beautifully shown. I feel Furiosa has more layers and more thoughts into it. If you wanna compare the Nux chain to anything in Furiosa movie, Dementus outfit/cape is a better option than Furiosa's hair. Like, yeah, Dementus probably gets his beard red because he likes it but also because as long as he's "Red Dementus", he's about building his empire. He starts in white as a prophet/sheperd, getting Red to build an empire, taking control of stuff ; then going dark/black as "he needs more, until too much is never enough".
    My thoughts about themes ;
Hair is her mind, her sanity or her identity. She shaves when she's going nut, she's not herself anymore. 1st time, abuse is largely implied. If you've heard some abuse victims stories, its easy to understand how shattered they feel. Hair growing back as she gets promoted to dogman, she can do mechanics again and she looks kinda proud/happy as she wears the gloves. She starts rebuilding herself through her time as a dogman.
2nd time shaving is when she gets blinded by vengeance. She doesn't want to get back home anymore, she wants vengeance. She's no longer the Furiosa who wants to get home, she's a walking dead animated by hatred. Abuse also might be understood as Dementus touches her lips as she's agonizing.
Themes are hope, madness and identity. Hope with the tree, madness with dementus and identity with her hair. An underlying theme is in fact how events are building Furiosa to get to the point we know her from Fury Road. With everything happening to her, the end shows she's a mix between her mother teachings and Dementus teachings. Jack influence is closer to a boyfriends, helping her to control/use her emotions.
Dementus motivations not be clear ? He litterally tells what they are.
I don't think Furiosa movie is a masterpiece, but imo its a movie done right. It gets where few movies go, especially with such production design and action genre. Its not very original or fresh but imo it works.

@Demystificator wow you really did write the review for me 🤣
Thanks, thats a really interesting take, I hadn't drawn the comparison between all three things representing different aspects of the world,
All in all I do think the complexity of it is what i found the most befuddelling but its always nice to have a lot of meat to chew through when doing analysis!
Hope you enjoyed the video non the less and thanks for the great comment!

@@toksnaveYour review was interesting enough for me to write that comment ^^
Yet this is how I see the movie, I don't know if its true or anything.
There's something strange with this movie, its like I fully understand people critics but I also wanna tell that the movie is trying/succeeding to tell more.
I don't know if it comes with the number of times watching the movie or its because its how Miller writes his stories.
On one hand, I doubt a lot of people would get the Nux Chain theme at very first watch of Fury Road.
On the other hand, Miller seems to write some very vague stuff and hopes people would find an interpretation for it, like people do with myths and legends.
He said it in some interview, he doesn't write personalities but postures, like characters want something and it creates clashes, that's it therefore, Furiosa character sometimes feels dull.

@Demystificator He definitely strikes me as more of a filmmaker than a writer, but I do think that's what has made his career so interesting so far and has kept the series so fresh for all these years!

Lucas presented Joseph Campbell seminars to Miller after the success of Mad Max (1979), where Miller took interest before The Road Warrior production
. But lots a new Greek mythological influence in Furiosa, aMM Saga .
They were going for the build-up towards the events of Fury Road for future audiences . Miller just wanted to do an ongoing chase in Fury Road.
........Mad Max : the Wasteland " is another script build up, a year before the events of Fury Road 👍😎🎬

@shrewdtuna9523 wow thats really interesting! I knew they were both fans of greek myth, but I hadn't quite made the connection there!

For a movie i didnt want and wasnt excited for. It did a good job. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Chris Hemsworths character reminded me of a mix if mad mad 1 and road warriors villains. So yeah theres a but of a nostalgic feel. Only thing that really bothered me was when she said lines from fury road. Sure it makes more sense in this one but..... makes me wonder why she said "remember me?" In fury road.

does every not so perfect movie need a 35 minute TH-cam ramble about why every little detail isn’t so perfect? we get it, it’s not as good as Fury Road. as a fan of the films, though, it’s just cool to see more backstory and more of the world. it’s fine if you didn’t like it, but i don’t think people need every little nitpick explained to them.

@anthonyliloia8301 Yeah, I more or less agree with you, at the end of the day Miller and the producers are free to make what they like, but when you put a piece of major media out into the world you open it up to criticism, thats the wonderful thing about art and cinema, its about causing a reaction from your audience,
This one wasn't for me and just like how they just wanted to make the film, I just wanted to share my opinion on it!
Sorry the review wasnt for you but thanks for watching and sharing your opinion 😊

Themes for this movie is making a profit using manipulation (using nostalgia & big actors). Smart on their end cuz with no fail they’ll always make millions because WE are the dummie dumb dumbs that watch it then talk about it online spreading it further… there will ALWAYS be someone there taking advantage of people, it’s up to you to not fall for it every time especially since a lot is very basic, in yr face manipulation
