Thank you so much for your post. Doc Williams music is hard to come by. The fiddle and steel guitar in this song are great. As I look back over my 77 years, country music from the 30s, 40s, and early 5os has been a constant in my life.

Lots of wonderful memories in this song and other songs by Doc and Chickie Williams. It's nice to see these songs posted on TH-cam. Doc and Chickie had a lot of fans in Maine, and the Maine fans were always glad to see them when they came through on tour.

Later in his recordings Doc would include very good session players. As we hear on this tune. One of the most under rated country singer ever.

This band came to my hometown every year to benefit the Parapalegic Association, of which my dad was president. Often they had dinner at our kitchen table. Great memories! Thanks for posting!

Went several times to see the D.W.Show. Last t ime they appeared at the School in Louisbourg, N.S. Lead Guitar was a chap from Southern States by the name of Curt Dilly. Played a gorgeous big Gibson [ Blond Finish }. Had a young fellow opening the show. Strange act, say the least. Came out on stage with a guitar in one hand and a piece of PLYWOOD in the other. Threw the plywood on the stage and proceeded to STOMP the HELL out of it. Claimed His name was TOM CONNORS and He was from P.E.I. lol

The Border Riders were one of my favorite groups. I think that was their blind accordian player, Marion Martin (not sure of the spelling).

Such a conflicting set of emotions. Its hard to give an answer. Lucky the music helps to smooth things over.

Do you have Doc Williams recitation about a young girl dying from using drugs? I had it on an old record, but lost it.
