I hard boiled two dozen eggs this Easter morning according to your instructions and they all came out perfect. Thank you so much. Happy Easter if you celebrate this great holiday!
OMG FINALLY!! Thank you. My potato salad and deviled eggs are gonna be happy and more pretty
I was watching another hard boiled egg video and when it was done TH-cam led it into this video. As I was watching I noticed your Iamsecond wristband! Always to see other believers using their gifts and talents that God has given them. Decided then to subscribe! Thanks for your help!
Thank you so much for this.
My wife and I are doing the carnivore diet, and I was really in the mood for some soft/medium boiled eggs in hot bone broth with some pork.
I've never made a boiled egg in my life. Ever.
I followed your technique and nailed every single step on the first try, peeling included. Even my wife was asking me how I did it and she's a far better cook than me.
You da man!
Omg I’ve been wondering this for so damn long and my soft boiled never worked because you just taught me ALL of the steps!!
I’ve been boiling eggs the exact wrong way, and they always look like hell. Thank you for this video! My days of tragic hard boiled eggs are over.
I tried your method to make hard boiled eggs and they came out perfect. I always have a hard time with the shells not coming off easily but these did! Thank you!
Thousands THANKS So Much Chef Billy PARISI,
For all your EGGs ( Soft + Medium + Hard ) detail + Fantastic content.
I’ve watched so many videos and and read many recipes on how to boil eggs right. No one ever said boil your water first. And I still could not make my eggs come off the shell right. More egg went to waste because of that. So thank you for the great tips 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, Chef! I tried several other methods with terrible results. This was perfection. I took the two that cracked out at 4 minutes, cuz I love soft cooked eggs as well, and they were perfect too. Picture perfect hard cooked egg!
I tried this technique for hard boiled and they were perfect. Shell came off with no trouble at all. Thanks Chef
I’m 11 and I’m making it for my mom and me I don’t know how to though so tysm
Used your vid to just make my first soft boiled eggs on homemade toast, works perfect, thx!
I'm guessing all the people who gave a thumbs down can't cook an egg? This is a such a great video! I've been dying to know how to do medium boiled eggs like the ramen restaurants do it. Thank you!
Yes 🙌🏼 love me some boiled Eggs 🥚!!! Great content & presentation!
They all worked perfectly for me. I am amazed. Great techniques. Thank you Chef Parisi 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for this! I have always struggled to make a hard-boiled egg. I have tried multiple methods. I do not do it that often. Usually only to make deviled eggs. This one worked perfectly. I took the eggs from the refrigerator. I did add a little vinegar to the water. But this worked perfectly. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much for these tricks. Alaways had a problem with soft boiled eggs. For hard boiled eggs I put lots of salt in the water and this helps to get the shell off easier.
Oh my goodness!!! The secret! Add to boiling water!!! Thanks so much!
Thank you brother. You were clear and concise.
Chef I’ve struggled my whole life, seriously, to get a decent hard boiled egg. I followed dozens of recipes and absolutely nothing works. It’s hit or miss every time...EVERY TIME! But every recipe called for adding the eggs to cold water before boiling. I can’t wait to try your method...im actually quite excited about it...there’s hope for me yet. 💙
This is life-changing! I have been avoiding a dish that I enjoy because it was so hard to peel an egg flawlessly. I stumbled across this video and I was able to peel 11 eggs without issues.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Ahhhhh. That’s how it’s done. Thanks Billy!!!
I always thought you had to put eggs in cold water. This is makes boiling my eggs so much better!
Happy New Year Chef Billy best wishes to you and your family Armando. Thanks for the great tip I just learned something different thanks again.
Hi Billy! I enjoyed this video a lot! Could you do a video on salad dressings like ranch?
Chef your method works so perfectly! 😍😍😍 thanks a lot Chef!
Yaaasssss. I needed this video. I’m always over cooking the eggs. And I am the one who puts the eggs in the BEFORE the water comes to a boil.
Wow!!!
ThankYou for the information on how to boil an egg correctly!
Great video. My medium eggs turned out perfectly
Very useful, worked perfectly
Excellent thank you!
Love your energy and how you communicate thank you brother 😊
omg found the easy way to make my soft boiled eggs now thank you so much
I like mine medium, thank you 👍🏽👍🏽
You are awesome works perfectly all the time thank you very much
wow I'm very grateful
Simple...but thx. I needed to know this info. 😁
Medium boil for me, but I do prefer soft boil or hard boil sometime
Also I just realized you've reached 150k subs! I remember subscribing to you when it was around 20k and I though why isn't there like at least 100k subs?
But now you've reached beyond 100k! Congrats!!
Thanks, I didn't used to be into soft boiled eggs but today I only do over easy, soft boiled, sunny side up or scrambled eggs only unless I'm making deviled eggs.
I've been looking for a refresher on the correct way to make them. A while ago someone had a video about the best way to to boil eggs and it ways different from the common method? I tested out using scalding water, turn off the heat, let's them sit and an ice bath, it's easy and perfect.
When I lived in Canada, I could hard boil eggs perfectly every time. Then I moved to the US and have never been able to boil a perfect egg since. Forget about making devilled eggs because they peeled so raggedy I had to make egg salad. I just now tried your 6 min boil, 6 min sit then ice and they peeled perfectly! Thank you for this tip!
It worked for me!
Good thanks
Tysm!!

This video needs more views!! Just watched the most viewed videos, and they’re CRAP compared to this video. THANK YOU!!
Hello chef. I knew about shocking the egg in an ice bath but, i always started in cold water, brought them to boil and turned the heat off for 12 minutes covered. Such a pain to peel. I used this method and it worked fantastic. Then i used your timing and steamed the eggs instead of boiling. Works even better!
Wasted eggs thru the yrs. I never knew this.
I'm making eggs just how u tell me 5/26/21
8:55am. I love soft boiled eggs. Thank you😊
great video
Do you start with room temp eggs or right out of the fridge?
Did you change the tail emblem as well?
Thank 😊 you
Is it possible to do the same only with quail eggs ?! 👍👍👍👌
Did you start with room temperature eggs? How about refrigerated eggs, will it follow the same procedure?
Best egg video on yt
I’m so happy I’m crying.
Just as an FYI: I love your videos. I have avoided boiling eggs because they are such a train wreck. I made some at lunch and WOWZERS. I won’t fix them any other way. You’re the best.
Nice share 😍😋😋💐💐💐
Cool I like hard boiled eggs
Wait a minute!!! My mind has just been BLOWN!!! I usually cook the eggs for 14 minutes-ish. Lol. But you are saying cook for 6 minutes. Turn off heat. Let eggs sit in pot for another 6 minutes but cover pot. Then remove and put eggs in cold water. Yo. I’m going to do this right NEOW!!! Thank you Chef. 🙏🏾
i love you man
Is it actually 3 minutes?
Trying this rn
I love the 5 min ones. However, after boiling the water, I added the egg into the pot and it cracked within several seconds. Most of the yolk came out. How do you stop that? Thanks a lot :)
keep the egg out of the fridge until it comes to room temp, also depends how big of a pot ure using , also add baking soda and a bit of salt in the water or vinegar, should prevent leakage and help with peeling
I tend to use a small sharp knife to knock a small hole into the fat part of the egg. it would never explode again.
@@18hot30 I didn't want to wait for it to come to room temp so I ran it under warm water and then held it in my hands while the water boiled and the egg was fine.
Are your eggs cold or room temperature. I have trouble with the eggs cracking when I put them into the boiling water.
If you have a ceramic stove, where burner will retain heat, do I remove the pan from the stove while covered for the last 6 minutes? I live where no gas is available, I wish I could have a gas stove...
I love half boiled egg + soy sauce
1. Boil the water until it boils (water in the pot should be a lot until the eggs are completely submerged).
2. Close the fire.
3. Put the egg in the boiling water (do not cover the pot).
4. Set the phone timer for 6 minutes.
Great video with nice techniques. But if you cool down the eggs for 3 minutes in iced water, they'll be cold! Who wants a cold egg with their toast for breakfast?!!
Does the amount of eggs being prepared impact the cook time? For example, would I go 8 minutes for a medium egg whether I’m cooking 3 eggs or 20, or do I need to increase the boil time at all for more eggs?
Chef Parisi, can you do a video on eggs over easy, over medium, and over hard? If you already did a video then I apologize.
Is there a triple Like?
Duck eggs are getting popular. Are they treated the same way? They are a bit larger.
Also, the 7-8 minute egg is perfect for a bowl of ramen.
I did it with putting in boiling but they burst open when they insert in the water.
I have a few questions regarding temperature. What if you want to eat it hot...as in piping hot, do you have to shock the egg? Is there a way to peel the eggs while keeping them hot? Also, let's say I have peeled eggs in the fridge what is the best method to reheat them without overcooking them?
I make great hard boiled eggs. I have always put them in cold water & brought it to boil; then turned off boiling water & let eggs sit in hot water for 18 minutes before cooling down, but peeling them was a mess. Now, I am definitely going to try your way! Thanks!
My mom saids putting egg in boiling water egg will crack, 🤯 explode. Longer wait time too, waiting for water to boil first. Love eggs. Thank you.
Would these soft boiled eggs be good for something like Scotch Eggs?
As far as I know soft boiled is perfect for scotch eggs. The yolk should be runny 😊
How do you stop the egg from exploding?
For the hard-boiled egg, if you boil for six minutes and let them idle in the hot water for another six, isn't this a type of blanching?
How do you keep them from cracking as you put them in the boiling water?
Use a spider to gently place them in water instead of dropping them in from three feet above just for funsies, HELEN!
Mine always crack when added to the boiling water
I love soft boil eggs, nice and hot, doesn't this process make the eggs cold? eggs can get cold fast. great tutorial by the way
OK, I tried the 6 minute/6 minute for a hard boiled and it came out soft/med boiled egg, what did I do wrong? Yes the water was boiling.
My eggs cracked soon as it hit the boiling water, i tried "tempering" them by dunking them a little and pulling them out, for a second or two, did that like 2-3 times each egg before leaving them in. it didn't matter, one egg cracked soon as it hit the water and it started shooting out cooked egg from the cracks and some yoke. I boiled them for 5 min for soft boiled eggs, but some of the white was still raw when i was peeling them, clear whites and raw yellow, I'm going to play around with the times more. Mainly I'm not sure what the discrepancy is from the video, in terms of not getting the eggs to break so much.
There was another TH-camr who said poke a hole in the big end before putting them in water. Haven't tried it myself yet.
And another TH-camr said to steam don't actually put them in the water.
Boiling an soft boiled egg and peeling it right it's harder than rocket science!
I put the eggs and water in at the same time and I never have a problem with peeling them. 🤷🏻♀️
What is the difference between brown and white egg Billy?
The breed of hen. There are also blue, green, chocolate, pink and grey eggs. It’s just the shell color. They’re all the same inside.
The most typical breeds in the US industry are White and Brown Leghorn (white eggs). Most other breeds lay brown eggs.
.. thanks.. but is have to slightly disagree on the boiling water prior to adding eggs.. it was said older eggs are easier to peel.. i found that adding eggs prior to boiling water is still effective while peeling under running water.. the water helps reach that membrane and get under making it lubed and slippery to remove shell easily.. its always helped.. even peeling them whilst in the container under water..
Key piece of information missing: Do you start with room temp eggs or out of the fridge eggs?
So many guides say between 5 and 6 and a half minutes to soft boil eggs, but in all of these guides I see the chef preparing multiple eggs at the same time. What if I want to soft boil just one egg? How long would be necessary?
Soft egg: 5’ boiling to ice water for 2-3’
Medium egg: 8’ to ice water for 2-3’
Hard egg: 6’ boiling water and 6’ in hot water no boilin
1:23 organic or natural?🤔😆
I really need to learn how not to screw up the eggs. I have a master's degree in culinary arts and I still can't get it. 4 mins in, still rambling. Thank God for the toque info

I’ve been following the advice and 40 year old recommended of the Georgia Egg Board. Start cold, go to boil, off heat, sit for 16 min. Thought I’ve used over 1,000 times, IT NEVER WORKED! Your method works. Thank you 1,000 times.
