I’ve been following the advice and 40 year old recommended of the Georgia Egg Board. Start cold, go to boil, off heat, sit for 16 min. Thought I’ve used over 1,000 times, IT NEVER WORKED! Your method works. Thank you 1,000 times.

My wife and I are doing the carnivore diet, and I was really in the mood for some soft/medium boiled eggs in hot bone broth with some pork.
I've never made a boiled egg in my life. Ever.
I followed your technique and nailed every single step on the first try, peeling included. Even my wife was asking me how I did it and she's a far better cook than me.

I've been looking for a refresher on the correct way to make them. A while ago someone had a video about the best way to to boil eggs and it ways different from the common method? I tested out using scalding water, turn off the heat, let's them sit and an ice bath, it's easy and perfect.

My eggs cracked soon as it hit the boiling water, i tried "tempering" them by dunking them a little and pulling them out, for a second or two, did that like 2-3 times each egg before leaving them in. it didn't matter, one egg cracked soon as it hit the water and it started shooting out cooked egg from the cracks and some yoke. I boiled them for 5 min for soft boiled eggs, but some of the white was still raw when i was peeling them, clear whites and raw yellow, I'm going to play around with the times more. Mainly I'm not sure what the discrepancy is from the video, in terms of not getting the eggs to break so much.

.. thanks.. but is have to slightly disagree on the boiling water prior to adding eggs.. it was said older eggs are easier to peel.. i found that adding eggs prior to boiling water is still effective while peeling under running water.. the water helps reach that membrane and get under making it lubed and slippery to remove shell easily.. its always helped.. even peeling them whilst in the container under water..
