I learned a lot about this crossing from working on it with you Im always happy to work with you when I get the time to I wish I saw this channel earlier
Unless I can get the measurements off an original one then probably not. I do have the official manual for the BA-10 bell and it does provide all the other information except for the measurements of the original 5 to 4 inch base adapter.
I explain what the indicator light is for in the video and as for the box, that is called a control cabinet although, it is much smaller than the typical crossing control cabinet. I was able to fit everything into it so the crossing could operate.
This signal is run off of all original Wabco shelf relays including a Wabco DT-10. I even have all the manuals for the relays, cabinets and mechanisms so it was installed and will continue to be maintained to the manufacturers specs.
I did way more than just replacing the light bulbs. Every screw was replaced and every light component was sand blasted at an aircraft maintenance facility (as they specialized in dealing with corroded aluminum) as well as the deep corrosion pittings were filled in. Then the lights were spray painted and the backplates went through a hydraulic press to flatten them back out. The visors went back through a metal roller to bend those back out and then spray painted black. The lenses were restored using car headlight restoration kit. The back mirrors were replaced with brand new ones as well as the light bulbs.
It was in very poor condition when I found it at this museum 3 years ago. I was able to restore it in the past 3 years as well as purchased the rest of the parts such as the Wabco control cabinet, Wabco 8 inch lights, all Wabco relays to go into the cabinet which took ages to find, a NOS emergency info sign as well as the NOS crossbuck with the brackets to match this crossing. The cost of this crossing to restore it to work was exponential compared to any other project I have ever done.
It seems a bit late for that now don’t you think? I definitely plan on decorating this one with Christmas lights this next Christmas. Unfortunately this project finished a bit late so I was unable to have it decorated for this Christmas Event.
Ah, I see now. Yes, definitely! I have a W-10 sign along with other safety signs seen along the railroad that will be placed within the fence once it is up. This crossing will likely be used as a functional display for the Biannually railroad crossing safety awareness event also known as Operation Lifesaver to provide safety awareness for grade crossings. All the signs and information will be put up around this crossing to better provide a visual representation.
This is awesome! This guys really is the next owensri2!

I wish I saw this channel earlier
Merry Christmas great to see the Webco signal finally up hopefully it will have its original mechanical be installed as well
Merry Christmas to you too! As for the original bell, are you talking about the Mini Bell?
@ not that one I thought you restored an original wabco mechanical bell in one of your videos
That one only fits on 5 inch masts.
@ oh OK I gotcha if only it was optional to fabricate a special adapter base
Unless I can get the measurements off an original one then probably not. I do have the official manual for the BA-10 bell and it does provide all the other information except for the measurements of the original 5 to 4 inch base adapter.
Awesome video man merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too!
Do you ever plan on putting a mech bell on this crossing?
I already did. You can see the second to most recent video I posted.
That gate be dropping so fast when it be activated
What type of crossing lights are those
The old Wabco Tubular style light manifold along with Wabco 8 inch lights.
I love the new Crossing setup what is that little box for and what's that Retro LED gate on the box for

I assume you'll be using a US&S or GRS KB Timing relay for a set desired time to run the crossing before timing out?

@@RailroadSignsandSignals Excellent stuff, keep up the good work!
Those lights look clean did you replace the lightbulbs

Are you using a different light bulbs for those 8"? they feel more LED than Incandescent
They are definitely not LED as those are not approved or allowed to be installed in incandescent sockets.
Wow, that's cool! How did you get the gate mech? Just eBay?

I like the Bell ringtone
U should decorate it

@ not Christmas decoration I mean like background art and stuff

You should put fake train tracks in the back
I do have a short train rail as a display piece going inside this setup and I already have a crossing operating on real train tracks.
