You did a beautiful restoration job! My husband used these turntables which were installed new at AM 580 CJFX Radio in Antigonish Nova Scotia, Canada. The year was 1978. And yes they took only an inch to attain full speed. The station used Harris Cart Machines, Gates Consoles, these turntables and new Ampex Reel to Reel Tape recorders in 1978.
it so inspiring to watch your channel , i started watching your channel because of the old fishing reels . I love how you repair and modify old stuff keeping it looking good or better than new.
that's absolutely amazing job! well done! so beautiful, another level of beauty and mechanism... i own a 1210GR and i'm so happy with it. technics are just brilliant!
Excellent job! and worth the effort. I have one too and love it to bits, mine is in a Panzerholtz plinth, with the same EPA B500 armbase and EPA A250 tonearm. An excellent tonearm in my experience as that superb on the fly is priceless for dialing in your carts sweet-spot, especially the more tricky to nail, stylus profiles, like the Fritz Gyger S on my re-tipped Ortofon Cadenza Black.
SP-10 is over rated and outdated. 1200 mkII is a far superior turntable. Sold mine to a sucker for $4500 USD in 2018. BTW - a Denon DP-80L is also far better than an SP-10

I own exactly the same Victronox mult-itool. Those are built to last forever.
Agree with you also but be prepared to come under attack from the mass loaded belt drive turntable mafia.
Very impressive restoration.

Wow man. I have an SP-10 D from the CBC. Mine runs but requires a recap. It is waiting until I finish a pair of yamaha p850s.
really well done ! question can you see the brushed metal under the powder coat ? did you clear coat the unit after powder ? thanks
Got another plinth?
Great Job- Are you selling the obsidian plinth by any chance?
